Apparently, this store has been in this particular location for about a year, having moved from a spot closer to Fair Oaks. It's a cute little storefront and pedestrians will be drawn by its smells and cute vibe. There's even a water dish for dogs outside. I appreciated the patient and knowledgeable staff and the opportunity to smell essential oils in isolation--namely, ylang ylang (even spelling it or saying it is tricky). What a fun way to spend a Sunday morning in Old Town Pasadena by LATHERing it up, lol! This Pasadena location is where LATHER started and their Headquarters is located nearby as explained to me by LATHER Representative Elise (thank you for the kind assistance and informative info on all the various products that I got to tried out today!). LATHER is located on Colorado Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue in Old Town Pasadena inside The Exchange Building next to Eileen Fisher and Pottery Barn stores. Parking: 90 mins free public parking lots. COVID-19 Safety Procedures: Face masks are worn by both employees and patrons. Hand sanitizers are available and social distancing practiced. After trying out various products with Elise, I was then left to my own device to browse the rest of the LATHER products and here's what I got: $22 Bulgarian Rose Phytonutrient Elixir: The spraying mist smelled divine and the amount of floral scent was just right. Elise also curated a facial regime for me as well, but the Elixir was what stood out to me the most. $45 Hair Care Trio: Mint Thyme Shampoo/Conditioner and Avocado Hair Mint Repair. Great for cleansing, revitalizing and strengthening hair and scalp. Looking forward to playing with this shortly. Freebie Redeemed: Radiant Recovering Sheet Masks (5pk). Spend $60+ and received this freebie. I thought I missed this Member promotion, but luckily I didn't, yay! There was one other product I wanted to buy, but they didn't have it yet in stock: Cranberry Body Scrub. Love the holiday smell and it warms and softens up your skin as you scrub it on. I got to play with this at the LATHER Long Beach location. At the time, I didn't buy it there since it was still hot in July. Now that Fall and Winter will be here shortly, I was hoping that the Pasadena location would have it in stock, but not until September or October (aww, ok, I'll wait)... I had such a wonderful experience at Lather. One of their staff walked me through the store and explained all their products. Their mission of clean beauty was inspiring, and their products are a true testament of that! I bought one of their cucumber/ginseng facial toners. I've been using it for about a week now, and my face has been feeling a lot more refreshed with no skin irritations! Parking was a bit tricky but that's how it is on a Friday afternoon in Old Town Pasadena. I spent 2 hours in this store and left with so many goodies... thanks to the amazing manager, Samantha, who helped answer any and all questions I had! We just got back from lather in Pasadena on Colorado Boulevard. It's a wonderful store with terrific products and we received such great help from Jay. It really is a place to go to get the best products with the best service. You can park in the Delacey structure, which is not far at all from the store and a bonus you get to pass the Apple store on the way to lather and while you're at it stop for a great cup of coffee at the many coffee shops in the terrific Neighborhood. read more

Lather products are amazing, OK? They are well priced and made with ALL NATURAL ingredients, and smell so divine. I tried many different products and settled on the honey masque, and the finger lime aha cleanser. I also purchased the chamomile makeup remover. I've been using the products every am and pm, and I really see a difference. The honey masque can also be worn as a moisturizer, it soaks in so beautifully. If you have problems with dry chapped hands, their hand scrubs and moisturizers are amazing- I'm going back soon for one of those! Love, love, love Lather! I was introduced to Lather a few years ago and never turned back. I especially love that all of their products are all natural and clean (e.g. no synthetic fragrances or colors). Throughout my pregnancy I used the bamboo lemongrass foaming scrub and the Shea butter religiously, I literally credit not getting any stretch marks to the mix. Also love Lather for gifts (including gift sets). Staff is always so helpful and will go the extra step to help make sure I have a great experience. I usually order online (post pandemic) and even though you order online the product will be sent from the Lather location closest to your address + you can always pick the product up (if in stock) at the store. read more

I absolutely love their service here. Johnny, one of the people there, actually gives the best hand massages. My personal favorite products from Lather are the honey bee propolis mask and the AHA caviar lime scrub. They are both amazing and make my skin feel rejuvenated and new. One thing that's unique about Lather is that their ingredients are all natural. You can find ingredients like jojoba, bamboo, and honey. They are very knowledgeable about their products and believe in living organic. Another cool aspect of their store is the essential oils bar. You get to create your own essential oil and have it in any form you want. You can customize the scent as well. It's really great. It's a small shop but the inside smells awesome and the people are friendly. Stop by and take a look. You might find something that your skin might need. My family and I had a wonderful time in December with a Pamper Party with Rudy! It included a facial, which allowed us to try different toners, cleansers, moisturizers and masks that are difficult to try in store. It also included sparkling wine, pastries, a small gift pack item raffle and you got 10% off that day! We enjoyed ourselves, and Rudy was helpful, straight forward and funny. Unfortunately, I knocked off 2 stars for all the following occurrences: 1. My sister returned her cleanse and buff facial brush ($18) before the Pamper Party because the brush itself had broken from its wooden handle after a few uses. 2. After the pamper party, I found my own facial brush was split down the middle of the wood handle before I had even opened it. I was disappointed with myself in grabbing a brush with this defect. Luckily we happened to be in Pasadena for the day so I went to the store to return it. While the cashier was kind, she eventually was told by her manager over the phone that they could not evenly exchange it - I would have to pay the difference of $2 because I purchased at a pamper part. After I refused to pay more for an item that was broken and unopened, eventually she offered to process a return and then gave me the 10% again on the new purchase of the same item. 3. An hour or two after my return, my cousin calls and asks when we're going to Pasadena next because HER facial brush broke! She had the same issue as my sister - the brush itself broke clean off its wooden handle. I really hope she does not have the same problem as me when she returns it. 4. My sister returns to college and goes to a store. Guess what's there? The same exact facial and cleansing brush found at Lather, for $5. Picture is attached to this review. It's unfortunate that Lather marks up this brush so ridiculously and then refuses to stand by their product. While I really like their line of wearable products (lemongrass bamboo body creme and honey moisture face mask), these incidents have caused me to question as well. After being reintroduced to LATHER via Yelp, I was eager to return to create my own essential oil. They have a range of scents, well over sixty, and they recommend mixing at least three fragrances. The associate behind the "oil bar" broke down my favorite scents into ginger, Bulgarian rose, and patchouli. The price point is based on the number of drops. Oils that are certainly more coveted have a higher price point. The final product was a rollerball that can be used any time of the day! You can also blend any oil into their products, which is neat. I'm a fan of their face scrub and muscle relaxer cream. They also have wonderful gift boxes, which is a nice way to introduce someone to the organic, soothing products LATHER has to offer. read more

It felt better than going to a spa for a service, and I got to walk away with all of the products that I loved. I came in with a full face of makeup and left with soft, clean, glowing skin. Jacqueline knows everything there is to know about all of the products and explained the science behind each product in a way that made sense and was easy to understand. I picked up a whole new skin care routine, some bar soaps, a body butter, and we even got to make two custom shower gels at the fragrance bar! It was a cold winter night and my hands felt ridiculously dry, so I went into Lather to put on some hand cream- low and behold, I accidentally slathered on some sea kelp mask, and it moisturized my dry hands instantly! If it did that much to my flaky, dry hands, imagine the wonders it would do to my skin! Needless to say, I BOUGHT IT! I later began to research more products online, and heard rave reviews about their eye creams. I went into the store set on buying the Licorice root that had been highly ranked on Makeup Ally, but learned about a new eye serum they had out called simply, Toning Eye Gel with Vitamin K. They were extremely knowledgable, kind, and enthusiast while teaching us about the benefits of each product's ingredients. Not once did I feel uncomfortable or embarrassed talking to them about my skin concerns. All of Lather's products are made from natural ingredients -- I have sensitive skin and none of the ingredients caused any irritation or burning sensation. Love the bamboo lemongrass body scrub. I've used lots of different scrubs over the years, and while it is pricey at $38.00 for 8 oz, it is WORTH IT. My skin feels as soft as a baby's behind and smells so fresh and clean when I use it. No other scrub compares - make sure to check this one out as they usually have a sample by the sink.
