Love this place! I bought a Groupon ($80 for $40) and was hoping to try out new products. I came into the store on a Friday night, one hour before the store closed. Sapna was the only sales associate and she greeted me with a big smile as I walked in. She was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. She introduced different products and invited me to try out some samples. I was in the store for almost an hour exploring different products. Even though it was near closing, she gave me all the space and time I needed to explore. I highly recommend this place. Everything smelled delicious. Everything here is so good. Wonderful products and ingredient listings are readily available form staff if you have any allergies. I needed gluten free products for a gift and they knew exactly what had gluten in it. I have yet to find something that I absolutely didn't like. The only thing that came close was a face wash that wasn't right for my skin type but the store let me return it and exchange for a better suited option. Customer service is great and you get a 10% discount when you recycle your empty containers. Highly recommend. read more

I went today to take advantage of early store hours VIP sale. I was greeted by Paul and also helped by a sweet young woman Tara. You see, I have been shopping with Lather for 5 years now. I own all of their natural handcrafted bar soaps and candles. Their candles are not synthetically fragranced which is the best part and my favs are mint and lavender. The bar soaps don't smell pungent hence it is a delightful experience to use over and over again. Most importantly I am very pleased that after many years of using these products (all of the salespeople that previously helped me are no longer there :( I have discovered others who give attentive care to my body care and skincare needs! Lather is a marvelous store with great quality products that are not contaminated by harsh chemicals. I am a cancer survivor with extremely sensitive skin as a result of chemo and radiation treatment, and I absolutely love Lather's mint shampoo as well as body wash...they are very soothing on my scalp and skin and non-irritating. I have recommended these products to other cancer patients as well and they have the same adoration and praise for Lather. Another thing I love about this store is how beautiful and inviting it is...the salespeople are usually very friendly and helpful. The product is nothing spectacular. I've found the scrubs to have a drying effect even when I follow them with the lotions. I hadn't intended to try the product myself. I purchased it as a gift for a friend. I agree with other reviews that the sales staff is pushy and I would add a bit dishonest. I explained to the salesperson that I wasn't sure the person would be interested and I was told I could always bring a product back if unsatisfied. The next day I found out the friend doesn't care for scented skincare. I attempted to return the gift and spend the money elsewhere. Denied. You CAN bring a product back but they will not give you your money back and they WILL be rude about it. Store credit only. So now I've tried the product... and I'm glad I didn't gift it to a friend. There are better products available. Buyer beware, don't be fooled by the nice store atmosphere and don't trust the smile telling you they stand behind their product. read more

I really wanted to like their line of bath and beauty products, especially since I am into the lemon lavender scent of things, however, the lotion and body wash really irritated my skin. I gave the bottles away to a good friend of mine (only used a little amount, therefore, it was pretty much new). The only thing that I could use was the unscented facial soap, however, it left my skin dry. I gave it a neutral rating 'cause even though there were some positives to the products. I have a sensitive skin and it is not fair to put low marks on something that neither myself or a manufacture has control over which is my personal sensitivity level. read more

Went for a yelp event and was not disappointed! What impressed me the most was the lovely staff who could provide tons of recommendations for their products! I ended up purchasing their famous olive soap bar and scrubber. They have tons of natural products either for sleep, workouts, cleaning, beauty, etc. Not on the cheap side though. read more

I really enjoyed browsing in here. I'm a beauty junkie and I love discovering new places to beautify myself. LOL. So while I had fun perusing, I can't honestly say I found anything that changed my life. The sugar scrubs were too chunky (I like my sugar a lil more pulverized, this way it's also less abrasive). Also I didn't find too many scents that spoke to me, everything smelled like cinnamon and/or patchouli. There are however a TON of choices for scents and wide variety of different products, hopefully you'll have more luck than me and you'll find something you love. Been here a few times, the staff is nice. It's a big space. I went in looking for the almond lotion, unfortunately they didn't have a travel size after seeing someone with the travel size. so I was pretty disappointed!! :( I did get pretty good service. I got samples to try which I loved. They were hiring at the time and I was thinking of applying. i LOVE their products (the ones I've tried). I'm actually going to be switching to their products since it doesn't use harsh chemicals. I'm going on my trip soon so the products are a must in my travel kit. The Bamboo Lemongrass soap and lotion is great, I initially had a sample of it from staying at Loews in Hollywood. Once I moved to the Pasadena I just had to come in and buy more. They have a Bamboo scrub, it doesn't smell so hot, but it works wonders for exfoliating dry and dead skin...just wonders. read more

Lather has been one of my favorites for years. I use the scrubs, body cremes and lotions, soaps, and skin care line. Not too many products I haven't tried. My go to for gifts, as well, and they are always well received. For all of this alone I would give them 5 stars, but what prompted this review is the great customer service. I was going to be making a visit yesterday, so I gathered my recyclables to get my 10% discount. I came upon a couple of products that I have had for awhile and I really don't like them so I never use them. I decided to return them too. When I was approached upon entering the store I explained about the two almost full products. I was not expecting a refund, maybe a bit extra discount but nothing really special. The woman spoke with the manager and they exchanged the products at full price allowing me to get a product I absolutely love and try a couple of new items. Have passed by Lather several times but avoided it because it looked like all the other corporate body wash institutions, but my desperate need for bath salts drove me in the other day. What a wonderment of all things botanical and get this...it's locally based! Roots right here in 'Da (there are two other outposts as well, one in Scottsdale and the other in the Atlanta airport). Their body scrub (or possibly just a hand scrub) has received many accolades from various magazines and they encourage you to try it upon entering the store in their sample setup. There's various liquid lathers for various body parts and you can even custom blend your own concoctions as well. It's relatively affordable depending on how much of a budget you designate for these little life luxuries and the ladies that work there are quite helpful and very knowledgable. Don't make my same mistake, follow the scents straight to Lather. read more

I've been a fan for years, ever since they first opened in their original location. Their service has always been great and they are incredibly dog-friendly. My dog loves this place, too! I do agree that their products are a bit expensive, but it's your choice where you want to spend your money. No one is holding a gun to your head to shop here. I'm willing to spend more on quality products, local small businesses, and great service. My faves are the sea kelp body oil, the foot scrub, the bamboo scrub, the citrus toner, and their body moisturizers. You can also bring in their used packages to recycle and you get a discount on your purchase. If you're a Delta Skymiles member, you can get a discount online. Online shopping is great and I recall they gave some sort of discount for online orders while they were in the process of relocating. Well I've known about Lather for a while. My mom LOVES it,but doesn't buy their often because its so expensive. She loves the bamboo lemongrass products so for christmas I decided to get her a container of the scrub,and my aunt some candles. The second I walked in the store I was automatically greeting and asked if I needed help finding something. I had my little catalog so I showed the saleswoman and she helped me. She was friendly,it sort of seemed a little fake,or maybe she was really enthusiastic about life,who knows..lol. Anyway I bought my aunt a 3 candle sampler but I didn't like the scents that were in the package so she actually recommended some scents that my aunt might like and let me switch them out for the candles already in the set. Pretty cool. Also, I tried the manuka body butter w/grapefruit &juniper,it was like creamy fluffy heaven in a jar. I also love their Yuzu sugar cane body buff,its totally moisturizing. I also love the idea of rubbing sugar on my body,who wouldn't? Lol.The mas gifts were a hit,the store is superbly organized and its really nice and clean inside too. The only reason I'm giving Lather 4 and not 5 stars is because of the prices. We've used Lather products for about 2 yrs and whenever we hit Pasadena we stop in the store. I like the men shave products particularly the pre-shave scrub (tried many other brands and prefer this product) and the wife tries some of everything. We also purchased several items from the fragrance counter (oils). However, we tried using the oils that next week - NO SCENT whatsoever. Recommend the other products, not the oils. read more
