My friends and I got some drinks at Laszlo on a Friday night and were very pleased with the experience! Connected to Foreign Cinema, this bar has old films playing on the walls via a projector. The ground floor has limited high-top table seating, and the second floor has a collection of cozy booths and tables. Definitely try to snag a booth upstairs! Although I didn't take pictures of the drinks, the whiskey sour was delicious, and so was the Family Affair! My only issue is that the bar smelled a little musty/mildewy. However, the bathrooms were very cleaned and smelled good! Overall, I'd recommend this bar.

This is an excellent bar that also serves the full menu of foreign cinema restaurant next door! Come for a drink, and stay for dinner :) there's an extensive cocktail and wine menu.

Great service, fun ambiance with old movies being projected and moody lighting, and solid drinks. Honestly might have one of the best dirty martinis in the city so come check them out.

Incredible service, ambiance, price, and quality of cocktails. We don't order food but noted their snacks for next time. Loved Parker and Chris (bartenders) were incredible. Can't wait to see them again!

Lively bar, part of Foreign Cinema and right next door! Was very busy and loud on a Friday night. Very friendly bartenders and the drink I got (a hemp spirit one, non alcoholic) was very good!! It honestly tasted like juice. Drinks are very affordable by SF standards, which was a pleasant surprise. They show movies inside which is very on par with the Foreign Cinema vibe. Lower floor is a DJ, upper floor is more quiet if you want a quieter space for conversation.

    $2 Oysters ALL night!

$2 Oysters ALL night! I've been there with "Happy Hour" oysters with a not so happy ending. These aren't sus ones that come with a complimentary detox. They come from Foreign Cinema's kitchen (sister resto in same building). Oysters at Foreign Cinema are $4-$4.50 each so this is an awesome deal. I could have sworn I wrote a review for Laszlo over a decade ago but guess not. (+) $2 Oysters ALL night (chef's choice): http://tinyurl.com/4xh4364c They're properly shucked and fresh, served with a shallot mignonette and lemon wedges. (+) Foreign Cinema's full food menu available - ideal if you can't get last minute rezzies. (+) Good selection of spirits - Fortaleza on deck! (+) Gayle, the owner/chef from Foreign Cinema is hospitality and customer service driven. She came outside to make sure we weren't too cold and kindly offered to move us inside. We choose to stay outside but just the offer itself meant a lot. (+) DJ spinning on Thursday-Sunday + movies projected on the wall. (+) Multiple seating area - indoors: bar, booths, and loft area (intimate date night vibes) + outdoor (two tables). (+) Dog-friendly (outdoors). (+) Parking is always an issue but the Mission-Bartlett Garage is right in back (enter on 21st street). (-) Wrong orders and/or missing food orders. For example, I asked for a spirit shaken but received a cocktail with vermouth instead. Also, the times we ordered food, an item is missing. We noticed it happen to others as well. (-) No itemized bill provided. On our most recent visit, the total seemed high. When I asked for an itemized bill, I found we were double charged for a drink. They were apologetic and quickly resolved the issue. Def ask for an itemized bill BEFORE paying! Overall, Laszlo's remain a pretty solid bar to hit up if you're bar hopping in The Mission. Or, if you're looking for solid $2 Oysters ALL night!

Great Bartenders. Got a drink not on the menu (supposedly it's supposed to go on the menu next week) - mezcal + lychee. Perf amount of Smokey and sweet. Also had the oysters which were surprisingly good!

We come here frequently for craft cocktails when we want to be able to talk to our friends (it's not loud) and it's one of our favorite places in the mission. Usually isn't too busy earlier in the night (I.e. between 5-7) and they have a limited menu from foreign cinema so the food is great.

A new favorite spot for me! $2 oysters and a fancy cocktail? Perfection. The oysters are tiny but fresh. The slushee is delicious. Some of the cocktails are overly sweet just as an FYI. There is a movie playing on a projector for vibes! And a DJ playing music (at least on weekends). The entire Foreign Cinema menu is accessible from here. If paying those prices I'd rather sit in the main restaurant to be honest. But nice to be able to order the appetizers at least.

Overall a solid spot by Foreign Cinema, complete with the same vibey interior. I especially love the split floors and the DJ, which put this place a lick above a lot of the other cocktail bars in the area. We got the peaches and gryphon cocktails. They were good, but I've had better -- they were a little off balance. I did appreciate the attention to detail and high quality booze options they had, though. The bartenders were nice, but even though the place was at 40% capacity, it was impossible to get their attention. My friend and I stood at the bar for 15 mins before someone came over and offered to make us drinks. I'd come back, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Pandan Vieux Carré ($22) By far my favorite cocktail of the night - very well balanced, spirit forward but also bright and silky. A5 Wagyu & Black Truffle Old Fashioned ($25) This was also fantastic, rich and buttery old fashioned with truffle accents. The A5 Wagyu is sourced from the Niku Steakhouse local butcher shop! Ube Cheesecake ($19) Wonderful dessert cocktail to finish the night. We didn't have time to try the Escape Room connected to the Speakeasy, but we'll be back! There are two rooms, one in the front with a puzzle theme, and another in the back with a Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings) vibe. Staff was friendly and took time to explain the clever menu to us!

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit.
