The four of us sat at a high top and ordered three dishes per couple, which was sufficient for dinner. The happy hour menu is varied ranging from artisan pizza to octopus to broccolini caesar. $7 wine, which was full-bodied and delicious. Osteria is pretty, a popular venue for rehearsal dinners and other special events. Our server (who reminded me of Reggie Watts) was great. The gal manning the hostess station .... somewhat of an unnecessary attitude.

It came with a complimentary side of roasted veggies. I appreciated the gesture, but the veggies were a bit on the bland side. My wife ordered a mushroom pappardelle that was remarkable. It was creamy but not too heavy and had a rich, earthy mushroom flavor in every bite. I had the shrimp fra diavolo. It was good but not quite as good as the pappardelle. It was a very nice portion and the shrimp were well cooked. I would have appreciated just a bit more kick in the sauce, but I'd certainly eat this again. The only disappointment was the chicken cutlet and fries that my daughter ordered off the kids menu. The cutlet was small, dry, and flavorless. At $15 it was pretty pricy for the kids meal. Service was great and the ambiance was very pleasant. I'm sure it's a great place to have a meal when it is bustling. Had it been a few bucks cheaper, this would have been five stars.

The only note I'd give is that the chocolate cake had a smidge too much olive oil drizzle. Otherwise a great meal!

If you're not going to make an effort just let it die…read more.. My wife wanted to check this place out since we had an event in the area and she's practically a regular at PJ's - this place is an offshoot, the Rockwell bar is the old side bar of PJ's when you walk in and I assume they use the same kitchen. I didn't get a good feeling when I went to check the menu and the website is down (still down as of this review) and reservations were available for any time. When we arrived, we were greeted with an abandoned host station. There was a large party and maybe 1 or 2 other tables. After standing awkwardly for a couple minutes, the waitress (come to find out the only employee) gave us an option of any seat in the house. She dropped off menus and asked about water preference. She eventually came back to drop off our water but did not take a drink order. After waiting for quite a bit (this is when we realized she was literally the only employee in the restaurant, and at this point we set a clock on when we were just going to give up and leave), she came back and took our order. Drinks came out fairly quickly, but food took a while. Food was delivered by PJ's food runners. Our appetizer came out with the entrees which was disappointing since we were quite hungry by then given the delay in ordering. Entrees were varying levels of warmth, although this could also have been worsened by us digging into the burrata first (the lobster mac and cheese side was the biggest offender - almost asked for that to be zapped in the microwave). The waitress (who was very pleasant all night) stopped by once to check on us but otherwise disappeared which was an issue when we were looking to order a second round of cocktails. We did manage to order another round when my wife decided she wanted desert. Food was decent and, as a positive the portions were quite generous. However, nothing that you couldn't get better somewhere else. At the end of the day, it was about $250 for dinner for 2 people - and for that you have a ton of options in the area. They are clearly leaving this place open with the bare minimum because they already have the space, but you shouldn't reward that lack of effort with your money. Go someplace that actually cares.
