Ballroom at the Philo
Jason S.

I got married at the Philo last weekend (sorry ladies). The interior of the building, known as the Stotesbury Mansion, is absolutely beautiful. The ballroom was imported from England in the 1800s and includes even older accouterments, such as the 15th century fireplace. The ballroom itself sat 120 people comfortably, with room for dancing in the middle. When you rent the philo, you have access to the entire building the day of your wedding. Upstairs there is a library (which was great for post wedding pictures), a billiards room and a bridal suite. Clive, the manager of the facility, is an absolutely wonderful man that made sure that our event went off without incident even after we had some trouble with the caterer. The venue is also in a good central location in Philadelphia which makes it accessible to everyone. I cannot recommend this place more. 6 stars.

You can tell many of them take pride in their craft, whether they're cooking, baking, or serving customers. The ambiance is what really sets Reading Terminal Market apart. It's lively, energetic, and full of character. The mix of locals, tourists, and longtime vendors gives the space a special kind of authenticity that you just don't get anywhere else. Yes, it can be crowded but that's part of the charm and a sign of how beloved the market is. Reading Terminal Market has been operating since 1893, making it one of the oldest continuously operating public markets in the U.S. and you can truly feel that history in every corner. Reading Terminal Market continues to deliver a great experience every time: amazing food, dependable service, and an atmosphere that feels uniquely Philadelphia. A must-visit and a must-return spot.

Date of visit: October 18, 2025…read more Selections: Numerous to the point of being overwhelmed Experience: We visited this place right before we left for the airport and I regret leaving this for last because we bought so many treats that we had to reconfigured into our suitcases. This places literally had rows and rows of eateries and places to get treats, snacks, and goodies. It was pretty crowded when we went and I'm not sure if it was because it's been hyped up as a place to visit or because of the No Kings Parade that had just ended around the time that we got there. We went down each and every aisle and I had to resist the temptation to have a second lunch because of all the variety of foods offered, including Filipino food that my husband actually ended up getting food from. We mostly leaned into getting sweets from various booths to enjoy on the way to the airport/at the airport as well as ones to take home to enjoy. I wish I could've brought cheese home, but for sure it wouldn't have lasted or held well. There was a discount with parking at the Hilton if we made a purchase, but couldn't figure that out, so ended up paying full price when exiting the parking structure. Would definitely come back again to actually eat there!
