After the ceremony ended, that room was closed off and everyone had to squeeze in the tiny entrance room for the cocktail hour. Once the reception started, everything was the complete opposite -- very spread out and separated, which wasn't terrible, but the major issue was the main reception room. Their were hardly any tables for such a large number of people and the dance floor was tiny. We made do and still enjoyed ourselves, but would have liked to eat sitting down at an actual table! Although this type of venue wouldn't be my first choice for a wedding specifically, it was still beautiful and if the layout doesn't bother you, the decor and feel of the place overall were perfect!

The window was huge and I'm sure you could have put up some sort of curtains if you didn't want to see it, but I liked the fact that my guests were able to sit by the window. The only reason why they didn't get 5 stars...bc they lost my room setup sheet that I submitted when I made my final payment and when I did make my final payment, the person couldn't find my original contract. UGH!! Made me very nervous when I received a phone call the day before my event informing me that they didn't have my floor plan. I was kinda nervous they would cancel my event cause I thought they also didn't get my last payment. They need a better filing system. Adults find a place to get a GED or ESL tutoring at a very low cost and individuals struggling with addiction find the support they need. Every Saturday 50 seniors enjoy a free hot meal, music programs and companionship. Sports leagues fill the gym night after night and many neighbors find an affordable venue to host a party. The staff keeps the place looking great and are welcoming to all who enter. This is a place where the community comes together like no other venue in the area.

After a few months of looking for wedding venues and being absolutely overwhelmed with the amount…read moreof generic catering halls that weren't our style, we accidentally came across the community room at Kings Grant. It's not specifically for weddings (it was set up for a Sweet 16 birthday party when we went to see it for the first time), but it ended up being the perfect place for our wedding reception. Kings Grant itself is a community nestled in the woods by a beautiful lake in Marlton not far from Route 73. There're homes there as well as a small shopping plaza where we also ended up finding our flower vendor. The community room was originally only for use by people who lived in the community, but over the past few years has been opened up for anyone to use. Built at the edge of a tree-lined lake, the views we knew our guests would have during an October ceremony pretty much convinced us that this was the place for us. One wall of the room is made up entirely of glass windows, which allowed our guests to see that beautiful lake, and there's also a deck that guests can go out on to take a break from the partying inside. The dance floor wasn't the biggest, which suited our party just fine, and in the middle of it there's a lovely fireplace. The only con with the space is that large air conditioning ductwork that slightly separates the room, but the other pros were far more important to us. Once we knew that this was the place to have our wedding reception, Darlene here helped us plan a lot of the finer details. For example, we ended up going with Anthony Michael's, the caterer that she recommended. She only works a few days a week, but when she's available she was happy to answer any questions we had about our day. She has a very assertive attitude about what will and won't work in the space, having done this for twenty years, but we liked that, since we knew she was speaking from years of experience. Overall, we were so happy to have this be the venue for our wedding reception. The October trees looked amazing for our outdoor ceremony at the gazebo, the sun setting over the lake later in the evening was beautiful, and the space worked very well for our guests (of which there were about 110). We couldn't have asked for a space that was more our style.

The building itself is quaint and well-maintained, and while the space is small, it's packed with interesting information and exhibits about its role in the founding of the country. (LOL things I learned while touring the hall) The surrounding garden is peaceful and beautifully kept -- a great spot to take a breather while exploring the area. Inside, they sell some charming little souvenirs like president rubber ducks, which are perfect for kids. It's completely free to enter, but there's a donation box in the center -- definitely consider dropping something in to help keep this gem open. A quick, meaningful stop that's well worth your time.

An armory is a perfect place for a DIY punk show, so why couldn't one host a flea market? The event was a success. There were plenty of vendors who were selling everything from old vinyl to thrift clothing to homemade artwork and more - all with a punk rock attitude. The venue itself is a-ok. It's obviously an old military armory, complete with a few military artifacts. I'm not sure if it's still used for military purposes, however its website advertises it can be rented out for corporate expos, tradeshows, weddings and other events. There's plenty of space for all these things, though not many bells and whistles. A note - the bathrooms are downstairs. I didn't see an elevator, so you may want to inquire about one if you think your guests may need it.

If you have between 100-120 guests, Curtis provides an incredible value, as you get enough indoor space to fit everybody, plus access to the ample tables and chairs on site. The space itself is beautiful. The ceilings are wonderfully ornate, and the park is a great space for your guests to explore and enjoy. We spent half the night outside on the porch, and used the beautiful stone steps as a staging point for family pictures. I have one caveat to this review. Unlike other wedding venues, Curtis isn't really a client-facing organization. It is run by Cheltenham Township, and used primarily for township events and meetings, not weddings. So you shouldn't expect the customer service experience that you might be used to elsewhere while wedding shopping. That's what the review below is likely referring to. Personally, my wife and I found the pampering treatment annoying and were able to save a lot of money by using vendors who don't do the whole over the top wedding thing.
