If a space is truly a coworking space and available for other than a 9-5 schedule then you should allow creatives and those entrepreneurs who do not work a traditional vanilla schedule the same opportunities as those who do. This is discrimination against those who do not adhere to the framework of an office type environment. Isn't the typical office type of environment that which you buck against as a non traditional type of work environment is this just marketing BS? I fullyunderstand that the front desk staff leaves at 5 as do most in other coworking entities and that safety and concern should be used in vetting your patrons. Perhaps there should be staff in the evenings then? Perhaps there should be a camera system in place? Perhaps you should be vetting your guests to ensure nighttime safety if the concern is that your work environment is or can be unsafe without supervision. Either way, it is Kismet that Kismet did not honor my free pass. The preordination, predetermination, what is to come, the writing on the wall, all those kismet-ish signs point to a space NOT meant to be sampled in real time and a space NOT suitable to create in (after 5:00 pm) unless you sign up at which point you won't know if the space is suitable to work in after 5 ( as advertised 24/7) until you have already committed. I would suggest that you change your hours or find a a way to accommodate a base of creatives in Philadelphia who would like to find a workspace to try out that does not adhere to a basic schedule but mostly, just change your hours to match your approach or your approach to match your hours and it won't come off as discriminatory. Update: Thanks for your response but I did not just call to "check" in on your pass. I hope that you are not insinuating that I did not have an actual pass. I own a property where free passes were available to those within our community. It was an actual bookmarked shaped pass with a foldable promotional card and I was genuinely excited to come see the space based on your marketing. When I called it was to verify that this was a real pass for the day. As stated, I understand the hard line take you have on security. This understanding does not make you exempt from honoring your pass or having adequate staffing. You should have the passes reprinted to say " for use between 9-5 only."

Kismet was the perfect space to host our event of about 20-30 people. The staff was so responsive…read moreand easy to work with to set up our event and made sure that the "conference" room was set up prior to our arrival with lots of chairs for our guests to listen to our guest speakers comfortably. We were able to bring our own drinks and snacks to have available for our guests, which was awesome as we do not have a large budget just yet. The event staff there the night of event was so helpful with moving furniture, sharing things with us that we forgot (like napkins!), and even helping us carry things to our car after the event. We really could not have asked for more! The Women for a Sustainable Philadelphia group will be back!

This is an episcopalian church and they welcome all religions coming here to pray. A very welcoming and open arms community which the world needs more of if you ask me. They have great programs such as housing the homeless during the winter months from 7pm-7am. They have another program they support for women in need of housing year round at another location. There was a meet and greet held here for the community with the main meal provided with guests bringing sides and desserts. They also have a potluck meal the second week of every month I want to say on Sunday but I could be wrong on the day of the week. The pastors here Donna and Charles are married to each other and you know what they say, a couple that prays together stays together! I am still somewhat fascinated by religion as I have been encountering an awful lot of fake and generally uncaring people in this world and I plan to come back for a service at some point. You can people watch while having a cocktail, which was probably the most fun part. I even waved at a few tour buses going by. Space: they have a flower wall, and the space outside especially is immaculate. There are tons of places to take beautiful pictures that are instagram worthy. Service: The bartenders, Brian and Walter, were amazing. They were so friendly and quick to help - even with lending me a pen so I could write in the card I had just bought for the couple! The drinks were amazing as well (loved the tequila sunrises). The manager, Kenya, was FANTASTIC. You could see how expertly she choreographed the night. At one point during dinner, the staff was clearing the plates for dinner, which is also when the couple started their toasts. Kenya quickly whispered to the staff "not now, not now" so that staff were not walking around while toasts were being given. The dinners for each table were given all at once and the food was delicious as well. All in all, it was an absolutely beautiful space, with even more wonderful service, which is always hard to find with weddings.

When we walked into PowerPlant Productions in Old City, we knew that this would be the place. It's the coolest space for a party, and no other venue in Center City is anything like it! When visiting other venues, we imagined how we'd decorate to mask the ugly ballroom carpets, bland or dusty-looking walls, and utter lack of personality (even at classic, historical sites). But at PowerPlant, we wanted the gorgeous space to speak for itself, and use a little decor to accentuate its natural appeal. From the gorgeous wide-plank hardwoods, all white brick walls, extraordinarily high ceilings, massive wall of windows, and that huge iconic smokestack! There is no place like it. Not being pro party planners, having access to Chris and Jim (the owners-who got married there) and Tommi (manager) was the lifeline I didn't know we needed. First, they actually own the building which is different than other city venues. If you have questions or requests, you ask Chris and Jim directly. They decide and answer, not a chain of go-between people. Chris has seen countless events at Power Plant and (at our request) shared a menu of ideas and floorplans that were foundational to our once-in-a-lifetime, phenomenal party. She knows what works really well in the space. Chris even helped us pare down a list of vendors to the ones that would be most likely to negotiate and customize an experience in our financial ballpark (including our caterer-our other lifeline-who also got married there). Leading up to the day-of, Jim and Tommi made prep as simple as they could for us. They made sure everything was set how we planned it. Plus, all of the scheduling, dropping off, setting up, picking up afterwards... trust me, as you approach the big day, it's these little things (like access to the space when you need) that catch you off guard and cause tremendous stress. They had our backs. Ultimately, our wedding was unlike any that I've ever attended (and I think most guests would say the same). Everyone commented on the venue. It was the night of our lives. They have a large area for everything from family gatherings to full fledged weddings. They have a great kitchen and a fantastic bar. Most of all, it was clean and the price is definitely right. I will continue to have my meetings there every month. You can't beat this AMVETS post for your gatherings. P.S.
