There were crab cakes, grilled cheese, sweet onion tart, grilled shrimp, chicken skewers with peanut sauce, vegetable bruschetta, charcuterie and vegetable platters, pasta dishes (marinara and creamy mushroom), and bite-sized desserts. My favorites were the sweet onion tart, grilled shrimp, and mushroom orecchiette. From the moment I walked in at 12pm on a Sunday, I knew I was going to have a superior brunch experience (for context, I had walked past that ridiculous line at Honeys to get here) I was immediately given a table for 5 even though I was the only one to show up for the first 10-15 minutes. The place did get more crowded by 1pm but even then, it didn't seem like a ridiculous wait for a table. You order at the counter and then the food is brought to your table (I LOVED this, no messy check splitting, especially since you tip right when you pay) Every little detail was so homey: from the mason jar water glasses, to the decor, to the giant coffee (they serve La Colombe!) cups. The food was phenomenal too. For the price, the portions were huge. I got the Nova bagel (smoked salmon, herb cheese, served as a sandwich with homemade potato chips)--super delicious. I'm a huge fan of the lox/bagel/cream cheese combo and though it wasn't the best I ever had, it was up there. And the chips were an amazing addition. I also tasted the carnitas eggs benedict, which was just the right amount of savory and salty and tender. The jalapeño chicken and waffles had a spicy kick to it but was a perfect combination of sweet, savory, crunchy, and spicy. My taste buds were tingling of joy the entire time. On to the red velvet waffles...there were chocolate chips in the waffles and topped with strawberry compote and cream cheese and maple syrup. I'm not even the type to love sweet brunch dishes but I could have inhaled that entire thing. Somehow it was sweet without being overly sweet and every element just worked. We hired Miles Table and catering for a Wedding held during Covid closures. Our big event was canceled so my son and his bride married at a simple ceremony in Philadelphia. Miles Table came to our Home while we are at the ceremony and set up a lovely, generous banquet for the small group we had. Given that our spirits were dashed that the ceremony had to change to such a simple one, it was such a treat to come home and see that despite the fact that our numbers were small, they spared no expense in creating a festive, inviting luncheon for us. Mike and Rob stayed the entire time, replenishing as needed, emptying our trash, even rescuing our cake when our cake topper couldn't be found. They plucked a few flowers from the centerpieces and created a lovely replacement in no time. I have since referred them to others and plan on relying on them again for an in home Christmas party. Catering by Miles catered our holiday party again this year. The service is fine and presentation is nice - but the food is just "run of the mill". We had hot & cold butlered hors d'ouvres - a few were good - lobster pot-pies and pigs in a blanket, some (again) vile-looking pulled pork sliders. 2 table stations had a variety of nice cheese, vegetable crudite and dips, plus steam tables with hot bow-tie pasta in a marinara sauce with bits of vegetables and meatballs in it. I am from Ohio and our son had his wedding in Philadelphia and we needed a caterer for a luncheon the day after the wedding. I called and emailed 6 caterers and no one called me back except Miles. I was frustrated but now am so glad as their food was delicious! They served a spinach artichoke warm dip with bread and tortilla chips that was just great! This morning I had the Short Rib Omelet stuffed with mozzarella and topped with a generous serving of short ribs, jalapenos, avocado, salsa and pickled red onions. They quickly responded to my requests and questions before settling on a final plan. During the consultation they worked with me in figuring out the right menu, layout, costs and servings. He totally pulled it off. He approached the space creatively, problem-solving onsite logistics and accommodating last-minute menu changes. The food was great - guests talked. It's not super-expensive, but it's not cheap. He does a good job and he charges for it. Michael can be kind of intense, always seems busy, and is sometimes terse. Useless factoid: he drives a Harley.
