Stopped here for breakfast one morning during our visit to Philly. The food was pretty underwhelming. We had a veggie breakfast sandwich, and a steak sandwich on a bagel. For many commuters it's easy to find as it's located in the underground passage from the Suburban trains to the street. The place was packed this morning. I can see many people waiting for their breakfast sandwich or bagel. I stopped in for some fruit and was happy to find a nice sized container of fresh tasty fruit for less then $3. This is a treat in the business section of Philly. The staff was friendly and checked me out quick. This is my place for breakfast and lunch when I'm in my office during the week. The servings are large so I usually get two meals out of them. While the pizza here is A-OK, their breakfast sandwiches are definitely tasty and generously portioned. They have a greater variety of fillings to choose from than other shops nearby. My order typically consists of some combination of egg whites, turkey sausage, tomato, and crushed avocado. I usually get it on a toasted English muffin, but you can also have it on toast, bagels, or croissants. The pricing is also very reasonable - I've paid the same amount for a sandwich here, with all the extra fillings, as I would elsewhere with only basic fillings. I pass this cafe every day coming in from the train, heading to my building, but never knew what it was called. (I do not believe I see a sign outside, unless I just don't see it?) I saw this restaurant on Ritual and decided to give it a try. I looked up the location and realized this was the cafe I pass every day! When I walked inside, I did not sign a "Pick Up" sign like what the Ritual directions mentioned, but I did see the cash register located in the back next to the drink cooler and knew to go there. When I said my name to pick up the food, they did not seem to understand. I assumed it was perhaps because my food was not ready. However, they asked "Did you order from Ritual?" and I said yes. Then they asked what I ordered, in which I said a pizza steak, small sweet potato fries, and a Snapple Lemon tea. They gave me the bag, and there were plenty of seats to sit down. (It was not quite rush hour yet), I sat down 2 minutes before the crowds started to come in. As for the food itself: My pizza steak was very good, however, I was not expecting it to be in a wrap. (I was expecting a hoagie roll) So when I opened up my sandwich, it was piping hot (which is fine) but the wrap was almost completely saturated. Some of the meat was falling out, but it was fine (just a little messy to eat). The sweet potato fries were a good portion for a small, and they were good. I also liked how I could choose my drink out of the cooler, because I last minute decided I wanted the Peach instead of the Lemon Snapple hahaha. All in all, I would definitely give this place a try (and see what their other food options taste like), but I think I would take it back to the office rather than eating in the cafe (as it gets a little too crowded and cramped for my liking). Luckily, a few steps away, there is a lot of seating in the atrium with skylight windows and a water fall, and there were not many people in there, so I was able to move over to there for the rest of my meal! read more

I work in this building so I know the staff at Cafe Coco well. This place can be a mad house during the peak rush hours. The staff always asks about your day and come to learn your favorite so you can order 'the usual'. The place is clean and the service is very quick. I highly recommend their pizzas and salad, they are always fresh and filling. it's nice that there is tv to occupy your time when waiting for your food order or if you are eating at one of the small tables. The updated television screen menus make ordering easier as everything is well organized and easy to see. I frequent this place at least once a week. read more

This Eatery used to be Coco cafe and they had tables where you could dine-in and enjoy your meal or sip your beverage. Not now, it is strictly take out. They do have a cushy bench that you can sit on but it appears to be for waiting in your order during busy times because the width isn't very wide. In other words don't go getting comfortable. Everyone was pleasant that worked there. I ordered a healthy start: egg whites, turkey bacon, American cheese. I asked if I could make 2 changes, switch to provolone cheese and leave off the tomato and add spinach. They were so easy to adjust but they quickly charge you too. I guess that's only right. My sandwich was fresh and satisfying. They still have their touch. It was less than $8. I little more than I generally spend for my breakfast sandwich but not terrible. Epic fail. I should have known better after my kinda-sorta-bad experience the first time. I stopped by to pick up a toasted english muffin. I saw a sign for grits - $1.99. So I ordered that too. The lady scooped and scraped the grits from the bottom of the steam-pan and then shouted, "Guys, we're gonna need more grits!". But she had enough for my order. When I ate it back at my office the grits were so salty I literally spit out the first bite and trashed it. Meanwhile, the english muffin was barely toasted and flabby. I called them - and they have agreed to refund my $1.99 when I stop in tomorrow - but that will be the last time I come here. So disappointing. Great if you want to either be hit on or screamed at! I've been here twice in two weeks because it's in my office building. The first time I was ordering a salad, minding my own business, when a man at the counter asked me to "write your phone number on your order slip too while you're at it," then stared at me a little while the woman at the counter made the salad. I gave them a second chance today, and I regret my choice. I went in for a meatball sub and I watched one of the men behind the counter use his hands to pour sauce without gloves on, and I said something about it. It's flu season in Philadelphia, and you should be following food safety protocol. I politely asked the man if he'd worn gloves, hoping that he'd do the right thing and offer to make another or at least admit that he'd not worn gloves. (I can't overstate enough, I watched this happen.) Before I knew it, two people in the store are yelling at me, insulted that I'd asked this man to wear gloves when preparing food. I had to throw away the $11 sandwich totally uneaten because they basically threw it at me on my way out. I started coming here a few months ago, because I've been on the hunt for a good oatmeal bar in the city. This is a small and busy breakfast/lunch spot in the BNY Mellon that is connected to Suburban Station. They have ready made breakfast sandwiches, an ordering station for a variety of breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and pancakes, and a separate ordering station for juices/shakes/smoothies. They also have parfaits, fruit salads, beverages, snacks, and a coffee station for those on the go. I typically order an oatmeal a couple of times a week topped with fresh strawberries, bananas, raisins, and brown sugar. I love the consistency of the warm and creamy oatmeal and the fresh and sweet fruit toppings, it's ultimate comfort food to me on a blustery winter morning. Today, since I'm currently experimenting with the "eat like a king for breakfast and eat like a pauper for dinner" kick, I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese multigrain sandwich, and purchased a side order of berries. The breakfast sandwich was filled generously with scrambled egg and bacon, but it was definitely on the greasier side. I'm probably going to stick with the oatmeal, but stop by if you need breakfast! This should more aptly be named "a tale of two Coco's." Cafe Coco is the little deli in the basement of my office building. It's a little dated in decor (what with the neon lights and metal "ice cream parlor" chairs reminiscent of 1990 (or Rachael's Nosheri). The place is small and the selection seems smaller, with a few breakfast pastries out and a small grill for egg sandwiches. Prices are reasonable. And that's where the story of Cafe Coco, the mediocre deli in the basement of the Mellon Bank Center ends. Then there's Cafe Coco, the catering. Thick, hearty chili. Make your own salads with TONS of ingredients (two types of chicken salad AND grilled chicken??? Mozzarella balls galore???), tasty, not-too-vinegary pasta salad. And all sorts of assorted panini. Boy, when lunch comes in from Coco, I just have to smile. Funny thing is, despite how much I enjoy the office lunches from here, I never do make it down there for a quick sandwich. Again you get things you don't order; The girl seemed to have no clue what was going on I specially ordered my dressing on the side and chopped. It was painful watching her destroy my salad. I am surprised by the reviews here. I have been going to this place almost everyday for breakfast for the past few months. I really like Cafe Coco ,they have all the breakfast items I like. I went there for lunch once and it was good also. I think the staff is very friendly. I witness the one lady being treated abruptly by one of the customers because she couldn't hear his order. I couldnt barely hear him also, and she was still kind enough to brush him off and was very nice to him. He then gave her a tip at the end. I didn't remember they have La Colombe coffee, which is a plus in my eyes and all these healthy breakfast sandwiches made with egg whites. At first the crowd was a little daunting, but then I noticed that they had this breakfast special that they make on order. I love going there and knowing that as soon as I walk through the doors, they know what I want to order and are very friendly. I enjoy going here at least twice a week. Cafe Coco has been in my building for a long time. Just recently it got a new owner, Romeo. They have added a lot of new items to the menu and added a build your own salad bar. They kept staples from the previous owners-every Wednesday is meatball sandwich and the lite lunch. Sandwich on a small kaiser or 1/2 sandwich with your choice of chips or soda. I go there every morning for my breakfast and usually greeted by long time staple Mary. Everyone is very pleasant and the food is good and reasonable. Everything is made fresh. They have specials everyday that include a drink and chips. Their soups are very good with the Turkey Pot Pie being one of my favorites. Romeo and the staff are always friendly. I visit Cafe Coco at least once a week for lunch as they are positioned below my office. The food is always fresh and delicious and they serve with a smile. This place is almost always out the door with a line at breakfast and lunch time and they hustle as best they can to keep things moving. It's worth the wait. They have fresh Deitz&Watson product for your typical deli fare, but also have excellent home made soups and salad station as well as some delicious chef specials on their daily board. I'm surprised by some of the negative comments here. Take them with a grain of salt as most of them likely come from passerby's in the train station that are already having a bad day. I started going to Cafe Coco when I started my new job in the city. I passed it every day walking to work and it was convienent. Their breakfast is pretty tasty and the price is right--$2 for a bagel with cream cheese. I recently decided to go there for lunch and see how it was. Lunch turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. I am a big fan of eating salads for lunch and typically go to SaladWorks which gets expensive. The salad was full of fresh ingredients and it was very reasonably priced as well. The people are nice and always take a minute to offer a smile and ask how your day is going. I would definitely recommend Cafe Coco. read more
