Bulgogi rice bowl, and Vietnamese coffee
    YangHwa P.

I have been eyeing this place since the Beiler's closed and this cafe was under renovation. It is only now that I am trying this place. It is a decently sized space, and the service was really nice! The employees were very helpful, welcoming, and friendly. I got their bulgogi rice bowl and Vietnamese coffee. The bulgogi rice bowl had plenty of meat, fresh greens, pickled daikon and carrots, and nice fried egg (over easy). It was a happy marriage between Korean and Vietnamese flavours and I loved it (since I am a Korean who also love Vietnamese food). They have so many types of sandwiches, including banh mi so I want to definitely try them next time. The Vietnamese coffee was also made well, and I have full confidence in this place because the kitchen is manned by Vietnamese women who know what they are doing

I was just walking around the city and happened to come across this cafe. I really liked the vibe and the atmosphere. I was not super hungry so I went with a wrap, and it ended up being really satisfying. The meat was tender and there was plenty of it. The kimchi had a nice kick that brought everything together. I will definitely come back.

This place is so good! The walls were painted so cute and it was def a vibe here. The workers were so kind and welcoming. The food was delicious! Unique combinations and really yummy. I just wish they had thicker hash browns but this was fire. The brioche was tasty too.

We are about a block away on the Penn Campus so we decided to check it out. The restaurant was about half full. Most people ordered their meal to go and rushed to get back to work. There is an extensive menu filled with different options. I decided to go for the plate option which comes with an entree and two appetizers. I ordered the chicken with tzatziki sauce along with pita on the side. For the two sides I chose lemon potatoes and mushrooms. The chicken was great after rolling it up in the pita and dipping it in the tzatziki sauce. The lemon was a little too strong in those potatoes. Next time I might choose french fries or rice instead. They give you a large amount of food for the price. I was unable to finish the entire meal and grabbed the rest to go for later. The staff was very helpful getting a to go box and cleaning up afterwards. I think I will definitely be coming back here for a large meal sometime this week.

I have a very picky palate and I cannot for the life of me understand why this isn't rated higher…read more I eat here frequently, the platter of 1 meat, 3 sides, a sauce (always get the tzatziki), and pita is $13.50. You can order at a kiosk so you don't even have to interact with anyone. Their tzatziki might be the best I've ever had and I've been to Greece multiple times. I eat mainly Mediterranean and this place is top tier casual Greek food (and affordable too). Highly recommend.

Healthy Picks is a 24-hour food market that serves not only a variety of 'healthy' picks, but they've got everything else to satisfy your craving, from delicious smoothies to a gyro, a reuben sandwich, some fresh fruits and veggies, and so much more. As far as selection goes, this little place packs a big punch! The inside of the bodega/deli/food mart is very clean, but small, and it can get quite chaotic there at times. They've got kiosks to put in your order in addition to ordering and paying at the cashier. At busy times, orders can take a little while to process, but it is always worth the wait! That's because of all the exotic goodies along the wall to tempt your culinary adventurous side as you wait, like Italian chocolate-filled cornettos or blueberry yogurt pretzels and all other kinds of pre-packaged snacks from all over. The best part of Healthy Picks is also it's worst. Like many other 24-hour places, they tend to attract vagrants hanging around their entrance looking for handouts. It can be a little intimidating, especially at night. That being said, I've never felt unsafe at Healthy Picks, as the place is always buzzing with happy customers.

It's spacious with two floors of seating and easy take out as well. The service is excellent. Sid is so friendly and wonderful. I was the only person in the restaurant for a brief period in between other guests leaving and coming, and we chatted about Ethiopia's history & travel, as I'm dying to go there. Above all, the food was fantastic. I got the Village Scramble, spiced eggs with veggies in injera. Wow wow wow! Their injera is delicious and the heat level was great (not ridiculously spicy, but a good kick). I also got their Shai Tea, similar to a chai but spiced slightly differently. It was delicious and now I know I can just come for a takeout chai latte here too. Can't wait to come back!

This place is a disgrace to Ethiopian food. Super small portions of food for the high price…read more Although the Doro Wot was delicous, it was smallest chicken I have ever seen and they gave only two pieces and one boiled egg. The meat combo plate (Siga Wot and Siga Alicha w/ two veggie sides) was very underwhelming. The meat portions were tiny and barely flavorful. The veggies were just ok. We did have an order of chicken and beef samosas. Those were good. Sad that the appetizers at a restaurant tastes much better than the entrees. The customer service needs lots of work as well. Although this place is BYOB, our server wouldn't bring us cups until we ordered food. I guess she did us a favor by providing us with cups of water first. Our server brought our food out and we never saw her again. No other staff member checked on us either to see if we needed anything (and a few of them passed us as they were in and out of the restaurant). I was irritated and we were ready to leave. I went inside to pay the bill since no one came back to our table outside. Like we literally could have gotten up and went to our car and left. That's how ignored we felt. We did notice how the staff were being very attentive to other patrons inside the restaurant (Ethiopian as well and possibly family and/or friends). An Ethiopian guy (seemingly the owner or manager) was behind the counter and I told him I wanted to pay the bill. He had the nerve to ask how was everything. I said it was ok. I paid in cash and didn't leave a tip. That'll be the last time I go to this place as I do not recommend it whatsoever. I'm sure there are better Ethiopian spots in the Philly area.

We had the: Beef shawarma maroosh style 5/5: The best thing about this humongous sandwiches is the bread is crispy but soft. I was surprised at the price but the sandwich is so big we really could have split one but ordering two left us they both. The beef is so tender it reminded me of chinese beef stew for some reason. Not that it tasted like chinese beef stew but the texture was just so melt in your mouthy! Loved the veggies on it and the sauce! chicken shawarma maroosh style 5/5: Son and DIL loved it here and recommended it. Hubs preferred it cuz he's a chicken fan and loved it for all the same reasons listed above. Onion rings 5/5: Rings were nice and crisp without being overly greasy or fried. It's a nice place with just a couple of booths inside. Originally I was only going to give it 4 stars cuz the way it's set up is weird when they tell you where to stand and where to go...it just didn't feel warm and inviting when you walk in but honestly when I'm in philly again I will make it a point to stop by so that makes it a 5 in my book.
