Lourdes is amazing! And the food is awesome. Will keep coming back best Mexican food around, and Lourdes is unmatched. Always so nice and kind. What an awesome place

Chilaquiles

Beautiful presentation. Delicious food. We got the fish burrito, the shrimp-chili relleno burrito and chilaquiles. Great salsas and customer service. Very unassuming location/space.

Good service, good food, fair prices. Overall, I can't complain! Taqueria Las Comadres leans more restaurant quality than fast food in my opinion. The menu is large enough you can get lost in it especially if you're not familiar with the Spanish names of the entrees. The presentation of the dishes were fantastic. They definitely take pride in what they serve. We had the super fries with steak and chilaquiles with steak. Nothing to complain about really. Maybe a little more side of beans would have completed the meal a bit more (seemed a smidge light) but that's all I can really critique. Trying again especially their tortillas

Food and service was great. The restaurant ambiance was not as good as the once we've dine in at but it was clean and comfortable. One of the best burritos I've had.

First of all the service was AMAZING! We came with two small children and my 2 year old refuse to eat and one of the workers asked if she could give my kids candy. Loved that she asked first. But once we said yes she told my two year old she can only eat it after she eats her food. Which she did. Second of all. The food was DELICIOUS. Our serve was so sweet. She helped calm our daughter down.

This place is quite small but the vibes are there. Parking is limited since it's located in a small plaza strip, but I haven't had issues finding parking so far. I've came here on several occasions throughout the years, and never had I encountered any issues. The service is always great and the food is too. They give out chips and salsa before bringing out your food. Side note: The agua fresca was a dollar more on the menu but I suppose it's to cover the cost of the cup it comes in, since you get to take that home with you. Honestly the prices are decent and if you're looking for some Mexican food, I recommend.

I went here during my lunch break from work and couldn't believe there was such a hidden gem in this area! I've passed by this street countless times but never thought to stop by -- what a miss that would've been! I tried the wet burrito, and it was such a unique and tasty experience. You can choose your sauce, and I picked two to try both. I personally liked the green sauce a bit more, but both were delicious. I'll definitely be coming back with my kid next time! Service also really good and nice and clean inside.

This Mexican restaurant is a hidden gem. Taqueria Las Comadres located in La Mirada is a family owned restaurant known for its flavorful and homemade style Mexican cuisine. They recently launched a few new items including the shrimp ceviche and Shrimp AguaChile. The salmon el pastor with pineapple was so good. The Baja tacos were perfectly battered with fish and shrimp. The tacos gobernador was cheesy and delicious. They used a three blend cheese including mozzarella, Monterey Jack, and provolone. The fries and coconut shrimp had the prefect crunch. Taqueria Las Comadres is a go to spot for locals looking for authentic, fresh, and reasonably priced Mexican food.

The food is amazing! Fresh and made with love Our server Lourdes is the best! So welcoming with a beautiful smile

Las Comadres Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Las Comadres

Are they still in business? Every time I look online it says temporarily closed 😢

Yes, we're open! Family-owned and serving La Mirada since 1994. Hours: Mon 9-3, Tue-Fri 9-8, Sat 8-4, Sun 8-3. Questions? Call (714) 562-9002 or email info@taqueriacomadres.com. - Stephany, Owner

Do they cater?

Call them.

Do they have birria quesatacos?

They have excellent Birria, beef or goat. The quesatacos are not a normal menu item, but occasionally they will make them (or similar with the consome) as a special item. Often it depends on the chef as some know how to make them, and some don't…

Do they have taco Tuesday?

Yes! $1.25 street tacos on Tuesdays. Check out their Instagram also, they always have "show this post" deals for other days as well. Awesome!

This time we walked in and immediately thought... wait, are we in the right place? It just feels completely different now. New owners? New management? New everything? The vibe has somehow gone from cute neighborhood café to "family business that also happens to own an espresso machine." Even the barista was casually having a meal behind the register. Honestly, she might've had the right idea because I should've asked what SHE ordered. We got the Everything Croissant and the C&S Grilled Cheese. Unfortunately, both were pretty disappointing. The Everything Croissant has eggs, onion, bell pepper, cheese, tomato, house spread AND avocado. That is basically the Avengers of breakfast ingredients, yet somehow they all assembled and forgot to bring the flavor. Then came the C&S Grilled Cheese. The menu says soy chorizo, spinach, bacon, cheddar and spicy buffalo cheese. Ours had absolutely NO soy chorizo. That used to be one of the best parts! I kept looking through the sandwich like maybe it was hiding. Nope. Soy chorizo had apparently taken the day off. We also noticed several things we used to order are gone from the menu. And then, on the way through all these changes, you notice the B health department rating and think... okay Cream & Sugar, we really need to sit down and talk. I'm not trying to beat up on a local business because we genuinely used to love this place. I just hope they can bring back some of what made Cream & Sugar so good before, because right now it feels like the café we loved went on vacation and forgot to tell us.

The orange juice tasted nice and cold and fresh. Very cute decor, the server was very kind and attentive. The pepper shaker cap fell off and dumped tons of black pepper on my friend's hash brown chips and they did not hesitate to bring out another order! Super kind. My only bummer was the toast on my Bacon Up Toast Breakfast was not... toast. It was very lightly toasted. Could have been WAY more toasted to hold the weight of all of the avocado spread, tomatoes, bacon, and onions that was stacked on top! Definitely needed a sturdy toast base so it was hard to pick up to eat. With the business being named TOAST, I would think they could nail the toast more. Food tasted 10/10 and will definitely be coming back. I will just ask for the toast to be more toasted for the future.

First off, the young lady who took our order was very kind, friendly, and helpful, which I really appreciated. Always nice to be greeted with good customer service! We ordered the Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich, the Applewood Bacon & Egg Burrito, and a side of their Beer Battered Potatoes. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to my expectations. The portions were noticeably smaller than I had anticipated, especially compared to what I'd seen on Instagram. The Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich was pretty basic, and honestly, it reminded me a lot of the Breakfast Jack from Jack in the Box, just at a much higher price point. For what it was, I felt it was a bit overpriced. The burrito was okay, nothing particularly memorable. The Beer Battered Potatoes were actually really yummy and probably my favorite part of the meal! They had great flavor, although they were a tad too salty for my liking. Overall, while I appreciated the friendly service and enjoyed the potatoes, I personally felt the prices were a little steep for what were essentially a basic breakfast sandwich and burrito. I'm glad I finally gave Eggbred a try, but unfortunately, it just didn't wow me the way I had hoped. Sometimes the Instagram hype sets the bar a little higher than the actual experience. Not a terrible experience by any means, just not one I felt was worth the price.
