One of my favorite spots. Always have to stop by when I'm in the area! Everyone's always really friendly and the food is so good! I always get cabeza tacos and it alwaysssss hits the spot. Love their salsa and they even started offering it by the jar. First off let me start by stating that my review does not have to do with the food! Food is on point! My issue lies with the way they charge their tax and fees. First off looking on line the sales tax for 90638 it shows 9.5%. My bill should have been $16.97 + tax $1.61. Due to me having to use my debit card .50 was added no big deal... BUT to add tax to that .50 is absurd! So $16.97 + $.50 = $17.47... Tax @ 9.5% $1.65... Well NO tax total is $1.74 10%... Now I will continue to research this, and if it should be 10% I will update my review... But at this point this is just wrong.... read more

Premium Mexican food. I had started seeing this place popping up on my IG feed and the food looked beautiful. All too often I have gone to places where the food looks great on IG but when you go try it, it disappoints. Well the food here does nothing but delight. The shrimp fries are what got me to come here in the first place. I saw them advertised on IG and all I can say is, "Wow." The shrimp taste fresh and cooked to perfection, the guac tastes fresh, the fries are cooked to perfection, the housemade beans are some of the best refried beans I have ever had. And the salsas are unbelievable here. They give you a spicy robust red salsa, a lime infused avocado salsa, and smokey, peppery chipotle sauce. Since then I have gone back for their birria quesadilla (ask for extra cheese if you want to taste the cheese). It came with a side of their fresh guac, shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes. Another time I went and got a California burrito for my son. It's a little pricey but the burrito is as big as my forearm. He loved it and said it was the best Cali burrito he had ever had and he has tried Cali burritos at at least 4 other local places in his life. I recommend you call ahead on your order. They do make everything fresh to order so expect most orders to take a good fifteen minutes or so. If you live or work in La Mirada, Buena Park, West Fullerton, Whittier, Santa Fe Springs, La Habra, I suggest you give this place a try. Their Carnitas Burrito was incredibly flavorful and filled with chunks of the most tender, juicy carnitas. Their Chile Relleno & Shrimp burrito was quite the amazing culinary experience in of itself. My first choice was a California burrito, $11 something on the menu. Tell me how it got up to $16? I asked the cashier and she said it was because the meat was different. I'm lost at this point. I ask to cancel that and get a different item. This time I try a carne asada torta: $8.50 on the menu. How does it come up to $12 when being rung up? I ask what the reason for the change is and rudely received an answer that the meat was special add on. It's carne asada! I just don't get it. Now the food. I will say, it was pretty good. Everything but the carne asada itself. It was soggy, bland meat. I'm sorry, but the food was not worth the price. I do not appreciate being lied to, that's one thing. Don't judge a book by its cover. The strip mall could use some updating but walking in the door is a surprise as the interior is very welcoming and clean. The Food was noting short of outstanding.
