Not terrible but nothing fantastic for the prices they charge. Everything lacked flavor, pretty sure black beans were just from can, then rinsed and warmed (no seasoning). Fried potatoes are the same ones you get from Taco Bell but minus the cheese and sour cream. The esquites was really good, had the most flavor out of our 2 entrees, fish tacos and birria chimichanga. Nice touch giving a free tres leches cake due to anniversary, the homemade whipped cream was the best part of the whole meal. Save your $90 for 2 people and get Mexican food elsewhere. It is also very loud in there, we had a whole party of teenagers screaming all through dinner. read more

Delicious food. Beautiful atmosphere. Fun Music. This is exactly the kind of place Utah has been in need of! 10/10 read more

I really really wanted to love this place but it has some issues. First, the website talks a lot about experiential dining and entertainment and fire dancers but those are apparently only there on weekend nights. No entertainment for you if you dine out on a Weds at 6:30. Second, it was so loud that I could not wait to leave. And it was like the unch unch unch nightclub music. Third, the food was pretty good but the Steak a La Roca was served on a square smoking hot plate with no side plate to move the food to and all the food was piled on it making it impossible to eat. It was so hot that it was hard to hold the food. The steak was very fatty and I had to cut fat off of it. I had to ask for a plate to be able to do that. It needed 3 tortillas instead of two. The portions are small. I asked my server if it needed a side and she said no. It did need a side. The barbacoa enchiladas were tasty but also needed something for a side. The margarita was weak. It has potential and could improve with some time... but the music levels definitely need to come down. read more

The restaurant has an absolutely beautiful atmosphere and wonderful staff, the food was delicious and beautifully presented as were the gorgeous cocktails. The only reason I didn't rate this restaurant 5 starts was the music, yes it was festive and they were having a 90s night but the music was unnecessarily loud. If it was a club with a dance floor I would completely understand but it felt out of place with the overall vibe of the decore. It was so loud it was nearly impossible to have a conversation or hear the patient and helpful staff. read more

We went here after a soccer camp at the RSL Academy. The kids wanted pizza so they went to enjoy pizza at nearby restaurant but the adults were all craving Mexican food. We found this place on Yelp. Some of us in the party were a little skeptical because of the Yelp 3 stars. I'm always willing to give any restaurant a try. Our party of 12 adults all agreed we would go and try this place. Wow, this restaurant is beautiful. Before even entering there's a red carpet. What am I walking in to? Lol! We walked in and the "bouncer" opened the door and from the front desk, to the the decor reminded us of some of the restaurants in Vegas (where we are from). We were all underdressed because we came straight from soccer camp . They sat us on the patio. The furniture was trendy, perfect for outside seating. We agreed to sit outside but it was hot! I would have loved if they had a divider that blocked the sun or misters (I might just be nit-picky about this and we are spoiled with our misters in Vegas. I'm not sure how hot or how often it gets hot in SLC that you would actually put in your restaurant) The service was good! They accommodated us having 4 split checks for our party. We appreciated that! Our table ordered drinks - first upset that there was no iced tea! Our friend had a cool presentation of his old fashion. It came in a box full of smoke! The margaritas were good. The Sangria tasted a little different than Sangrias I've tried in the past but my friend enjoyed it. We ordered a few apps - but ceviche was #1 app. The queso with chorizo was okay- I wish they offered chips as it was served with tortilla. The table side fresh guacamole was good! You can't go wrong with table side guac. We loved the presentation of the oysters but my family didn't enjoy them. It didn't taste fresh and we have eaten a lot of oysters in our lifetime. My daughter only gets itchy if the oysters aren't fresh. Our favorite entrees were fish tacos, sea bass and surprisingly the wagyu burger that had a Chile relleno stacked on the burger! My friend tried the short ribs enchilada and fish tacos and said the fish tacos was the better choice. Last but not least, it's dessert time, my friend ordered the churro ice cream sandwich. Let me just tell you... I was about to take a pic and it was already half eaten! That's how good it was. Vanilla ice cream was in between a churro looking like a pastry. With a Berry compote. I know it was good as this is coming from someone who LOVES dessert!!! It was so good she wanted to go back and order another one to go! Overall great culinary experience! Everyone should always try a place once even if it is 3 stars. Give it a chance! You might be surprised, and you will enjoy it as much as we all did!! read more

Las Botellas is absolutely amazing!! We relocated to Utah 1 year ago and haven't found any restaurants that we've actually liked. This place has the food, the ambiance, the customer service, and even a live DJ. This is the place Utah has been in need of! Madison and her bar staff are amazing. Alex and Martha are awesome! George, GM, has built a great team. I have never left a restaurant review before, but i felt I needed to this time. The negative reviews are probably because this restaurant it's the first of its kind in Utah. Perhaps it isn't what people are used to. However, this restaurant is a gem in the state of Utah and the type of restaurant you will find in LA, Vegas or NYC! read more

Cool atmosphere, cool vibe. However, for the prices the service was terrible. You feel like you are in Vegas and are paying Vegas prices, but the service in Vegas is 10x the service of this place. For table side guacamole it's $24. The experience for table side guacamole was well below standards compared to your average Mexican restaurant. Would not order it again. My Fiancé and I ordered a drink each and a appetizer to share for a casual fun date night. We weren't extremely hungry so we thought an appetizer would be sufficient. After dinner the waitress told us we should have not sat at table because we needed to order a meal to sit at a table. For an appetizer we needed to sit at the bar (meanwhile our bill was over $60). It's almost like they are trying to force you to spend over $100 per table or they are not appreciative for your business. Chips were solid, salsa was solid. Small servings compared to traditional Mexican. read more

Terrible... Awful ... so sad. Went for dinner... So unorganized...food was not seasoned. The interaction between the waitress and Managment made eating there so uncomfortable. So sad will not return. read more

Such a cool vibe! Great service, great food. A bit loud and I wouldn't take kids. Date night win for sure.

Food was not good at all. I got the fish tacos, which are $30. The meat was so thin it was basically nonexistent. It was ridiculous. I would NEVER go back. Service was very lacking. Atmosphere is cool. Loved the bar. read more

Music is way too loud, and the food was soo disappointing and expensive- I can deal with expensive, but when the quality isn't there you just feel like you got ripped off. Will not be coming back. read more

Service is absolutely top notch and the ambiance is absolutely amazing! No doubt about that! But the food is incredibly average at best. There was a lack of flavor in our Burris tacos and our tres leches French toast did not hit the mark. For the price tag it does feel like your paying for the experience not good food. read more

We went to brunch today at Las Botellas. To start, the restaurant is beautiful! Josh was our server, he happily answered questions about the brunch menu items. He was very attentive took our order quickly, made sure our (soft) drinks were always fresh and the order arrived quickly. The food was delicious. i wanted breakfast and loved the waffles with fruit and whip cream, perfect! I also ordered potatoes, the order was huge and the potatoes were excellent! I had plenty of both items to have leftovers at home. The price was very reasonable too. A fabulous experience overall! read more

They should have spent a little less on ambiance and a little more on a kitchen staff. The food was mediocre at best . The service was a 1 on a scale of 1-10 the whole staff acted like they would have liked to stay home . I have been a chef for over 50 years and if this was my place I would shut it down and start over. Because there are several areas that definitely need a complete makeover. read more

I had a great brunch with my friend. The ambiance was great and the food was tasty. My food came out quick and exactly as described. I definitely would come back. The atmosphere was nice but the food was kind of bland. I don't mind paying for good food but the enchiladas and the tacos we ordered was just ok. The table side guacamole was a little on the sour side. Presentation is nice but food I was say 6/10 read more

Food was really good, servings a bit smaller than I'd hope for with the price tag but overall very satisfied. Environment was very fun, and not like any other place in Utah. Would go back again! read more

The food was good, service can get better. Had reservations for 7:30 did not get seated till 8:00 pm. They messed up our order twice. Gave us wrong drinks and wrong food. Not a bad place, need to improve service and will become a 4/5. As of now, a lot of improvement with the service. Will be back to see if things changed in the future. read more

The food is perfection. The service is always amazing and the atmosphere is so fun. I love the salsa dancers!

They were a lot of good things about this place, however, the noise was so overwhelming that it made the experience negative. You cannot have a conversation with the person right next to you, the server has to come talk in your ear and vice versa. They need to decide if this is a club or a restaurant. That being said the ambience and decor are amazing. The drinks were good and so was the food. I would go back in a heartbeat if I could actually enjoy talking with the people I'm at dinner with. read more

The food is delicious, we tried the flautas for an appetizer, tried the à la Roque, steak and shrimp for main course and for dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake and churros. Service was slow, which wouldn't be bad, except for they did not deliver on the fact that they advertise as a Vegas style experience. There was one fire dancer that came out in the two hours we were there. Did not see any other dancers. I would've rated this higher, except for the advertised a Las Vegas style experience and did not deliver. read more

So disappointed. Came here for a friend's birthday because she'd heard such great things and wanted to try it out. Yuck. The restaurant is beautiful and our server was fantastic. That's where it ends. It took an hour for us to get our food, which was awful. Pork carnitas enchiladas for $27 were literally spit out by two different people at the table. All you could taste in the birria was cinnamon. Honestly one of the worst, yet most expensive meals I've had. Our sweet server was kind enough to comp the enchiladas. So loud in there you couldn't hear yourself think or anyone at you table talk. Avhit and a miss for sure. Be a club with loud music and fire dancers or a restaurant and seriously work on that food read more

Kind of a weird spot. Went in not really knowing what to expect for a friend's birthday. Server was nice enough. Ordered four appetizers for a group of 8. Two were salsa flights. They brought one basket of chips? The calamari was good. And the fish tacos were good. Definitely a place you go to for the environment... if you're into feeling like you're in a club serving mediocre food. Fire dancers don't come out until after 7 or something. And in an inconsistent schedule. read more

We had a reservation for 13, the table was ready but they didn't seat us for 20 extra minutes. When seated we ordered drinks received canned and bottled beers with no glasses, had to ask three times for a glass. We didn't receive all of our meals and had to go find the waiter to ask for the missing meal. Our waiter never offered second drinks or asked how our meal was. Absolutely terrible service. The waiter knew he was getting an automatic 20% tip so he didn't take care of us at all. All 13 people agreed they would never go back due to the terrible service. read more

I came here for my birthday dinner tonight. Drinks were amazing! The environment was great, and the food was ok. My fav was the flautas. The enchiladas were too spicy for me but if you can handle spicy you'll love them! The only reason for a 4-star is because when they came out with the birthday sign they had my name down as Alejandra, as you can tell that is not my name and they came out with a small tres leches slice of cake when I was expecting the girls to come out with the cake I brought. My server Daniel felt extremely bad and said he would do something for us. Then the girls came back out with my cake & the correct name on the sign plus the manager comped mine and my fiancés entrees and personally brought out the cake we brought and served me and my guests. So I left completely satisfied with the service for going above & beyond to make my birthday a night to remember. So for that I recommend anyone to come. I will be back next month for my fiancés birthday. Thank you, las botellas! read more

Really wish I was giving a 5 Star review..... we weee so excited to try Las Botellas out..... we finally got reservations and gave it a shot. 1. Ambiance, was great.... Music was way to loud could not even here the waiter 2. Food.... Average, not worth the money and don't bother asking for modifications to your food, 3. Table-side guacamole for 23.00 not worth it, small portion with very little flavor 4. 130.00 for (2) without alcohol or desert. We go out every Friday night and look forward to good food, entertainment and a good time, this was a let down 100%. This place has potential if they revamp the menu and provide quality food. We will hope to see some changes and try it again in the future.... For now it's definitely not a go to weekend date night read more

Ambience was kinda cool, I guess? It was really loud. Too loud to even have a conversation. The fire dancer was cool but didn't perform for very long at all. The food was mediocre and the menu was ridiculously small for a Mexican/Latin American restaurant. read more

I asked for ice they said sure no problem they bring a small cup of ice out. Asked again for ice. They brought two out unbelievable small glasses of ice. What kind of flipping restaurants this Three tacos little dinky tacos. The girl said that though enchiladas were OK but very small. What I eat there again absolutely not. I hope the restaurant owner read this and brings people water with ice in it when it's 89° outside. Nice looking inside food terrible good Lord owners give people ice water, not a glass a bathtub water. read more

Super pricey for very little food. Food is good but not memorable. Overall you go mainly for the dinner experience.

Fantastic Atmosphere! We walked up to the restaurant on a red carpet, literally, a red carpet. We were met by a security guard who welcomed us in. The atmosphere was incredible and unexpected. The music was loud, playing a non stop dance club mix. We were immediately seated at a large table. The whole bar/restaurant was beautiful and dark. Initially I was worried I may have over dressed. Nope. I could have been James Bond in a tuxedo and felt perfectly and appropriately dressed. The staff really made us feel like we were the guests of honor. The wine selection was fantastic. The food is very high quality. However I can see why some reviews are one and two stars; Probably because of the small portions and high prices. For us, It was fun. It was exciting. It was memorable. read more

I have been waiting for months for Las Botellas to open!! I was surprised how modern and upscale it was when I walked in. I don't think there is anything quite like it in the Salt Lake Valley. Especially the south part of the valley. We ordered Margaritas. I had the Watermelon Margarita and it was really good. They even had my favorite tequila which I don't normally find in restaurants in Utah. We had table side guacamole and chips. Very good, a little on the small side portion wise. For the entree I had Carne Asada tacos which were excellent. The corn tortillas were a little thick, but they were exactly like ones I had in Mexico City. I just prefer them a little thinner. My husband had the enchiladas. He enjoyed them but didn't realize it was just the enchiladas no sides. That's fine with me, but he expected a little more with the price. The food is really good just not big portions. The service could use some work. When we ordered our margaritas it was a little awkward. The server was pushing us towards a non alcoholic drinks. Which we were not interested in at all. And the service was rushed. This is not a turn and burn restaurant. It is an experience, that is why it's expensive. I hope they work some of the bugs out and Las Botellas is here to stay. It is a different dining experience in Utah which is needed. read more

The corkage fee is $35.00 so we won't be back. The Capital Grill, a fine restaurant, does not charge that amount. This is Utah and restaurants don't charge those kind of fees here. Food is over priced. Matt read more

I made a reservation for today at 8:45 pm about a week ago after hearing such raving reviews. Walking in, the decor was beautiful and you could tell it was very upscale in comparison to most restaurants here. We checked in at 8:40, didn't get seated until 9:15 despite being decently open all evening. We ordered Citrus Grilled Chicken tacos ($19), Tri Tip Carne Asada tacos ($22), Flourless Chocolate Cake ($15), Raspberry Agua Fresca ($8), and Coke Zero ($4). Overall, the food was great! Was it worth the price? I can't say so. The atmosphere was nice, being from Vegas myself I can't say it compares to anything back home. The fire dancer was phenomenal! I wish she would've stayed out longer, we only saw her for 5 minutes in the 1 1/2hrs that we were there. After we finished, the cashier came to our table with the check, failed to show us the items we got billed for and charged us for the wrong meal that was about $90 with tip. Thankfully, we asked for the receipt or we wouldn't have known. Realizing their mistake, they voided the payment without discussing it with us even though we offered to pay our bill and leave the $20 tip (over a 40% tip) for our waitress instead of having to pay 2 bills in one night. The waitress did ensure we would get the $90 refunded but I wish we could've avoided being charged twice. I cannot find myself going back at all but it was nice to experience it all for myself read more
