After having Larsen's here for years, we finally had dinner here. Such nice vibes inside. Upscale but relaxing. Delicious steaks, cooked to perfection. Nice cocktail menu. Extensive wine menu. Wish they offered a decent bread option. Normally steakhouses offer a good bread and butter menu option, and their garlic bread just doesn't cut it. Easy parking, short walk. Definitely pricier, but a good choice for a steakhouse.

First time here ! Happy hour is pretty good The shrimp tacos were the best I've ever had! They have a good spicy kick The Hawaiian Tri tip had a good flavor but the meat was not very tender and was a little Rough to tear off The sliders were nothing special but tasty they just need a little extra pizzazz The butter cake was 10/10 phenomenal Good customer service and beautiful restaurant and they have live music singer with pianist vibes were nice

celebrated our daughter's wedding with a small family dinner the evening after. they accommodated our party size perfectly an Eddie our server was attentive and courteous. while the miso soup arrived cold, it was replaced fairly quickly. I had the rib/trip tip combo and the ribs slid right off the bone. very extensive wine and cocktail list. the 2022 Austin Hope did not disappoint. the desserts were decadent and could feed a small country. try the butter cake! The next day I had a voicemail from the restaurant thanking us for visiting and offering to answer any questions or take feedback. That kind of customer service is very rare and I would go back in a heartbeat.

I want to start this review by thanking Mark for his above and beyond service at Larsen's. His attention to detail was what completed our dinner. I chose Larsen's to celebrate my mother's birthday and made a dinner reservation online for 6 of us. We were a larger party which is why the attention to detail was clearly delivered. We started our dinner with 2 appetizers of the Jalapeno Queso Dip and Guac, creamy, cheesy, and with a little bit of spicy. Great appetizer to start. Everyone in the my party enjoyed their entrees from the New York Strip, Filet Mignon, Porterhouse, Rib Eye, and Sea Bass. I ordered the Hawaiian Tri Tip which I will rate an 8/10. The tri tip was a bit overcooked but next time I will simply choose a different entree. The flavor and taste was great. It paired great with their mac and cheese (order a larger size as it is very rich and creamy. Try and save some room for their dessert menu. The butter cake pairs excellent with vanilla ice cream. Among the dessert drink menu the PB & J Old Fashioned drinks tastes exactly like the classic PB & J sandwich. Overall, stellar food and stellar service for a beautiful night to celebrate a birthday.

Stopped by for dinner on a Tuesday. Not many people at 5, but Larsen's ambiance and service is always on point. Thank you Jonathan for a delicious dinner.

This review is strictly for the kitchen. Ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and the chips were extremely stale, but was replaced by our waitress who was extremely understanding. my husband ordered the ribeye asked for medium and it came out rare towards the middle and fat parts of the steak. For the pricing of the menu, you would think the food would come out correct the first time. Be cautious of the steaks if ordering any. Update: DO NOT recommend this place to eat!! My husband got food poisoning not long after eating from this restaurant. We will never be returning again.

I was spending the night in Oxnard and felt like prime rib so, I hit up Larsen's Grill in the Collection. I ordered a glass of the Sonoma Chardonnay and of course the Prime Rib medium rare and of course, everything was just outstanding. Not only was the food outstanding but also the service as I was sitting at the Bar. Great Job and if you are ever in the area, check them out and I'm sure you will enjoy your evening.

    Horrible "crème brule"

Disappointed overall. The food was just okay, but definitely overpriced for the quality. Service was very slow throughout the meal, and we ran into cleanliness issues that were hard to overlook. Several plates we were given were dirty and had to be replaced, and the tablecloth was also visibly dirty. The bottoms of some plates were unclean as well, which we documented in photos. Dessert was especially disappointing. The crème brûlée was genuinely bad. Three different people at our table tried it and all agreed it was unpleasant. For the price point, we expected much better service, attention to detail, and overall quality. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth it.

Went for Happy Hour . Service is amazing. The calamari tasted awful but really enjoyed the steak tacos and spinach dip. It's supposed to be spinach /artichoke but it was all spinach . Still great . House wine was good too. Why the 5 stars ? It is because when I told the server , Alex about the issue he took the dish away immediately and asked if he could bring anything else while apologizing. He went above and beyond to make sure ... he could make it right . We opted not to get anything else . The Christmas decor , dim lighting and soft music playing is always a vibe. Great place to meet friends and be able to catch up.

My BF took me here for a quiet, relaxed dinner last night. We started with the Maryland crab cakes (wow!! So yummy!) and I enjoyed an 8 oz. grass fed filet, with loaded baked potato for my main meal. I'd definitely order the filet again, but try a different side, as my potato was a little dry [even loaded w sour cream & butter, how I like it! :-)] The virgin mojito I enjoyed with my meal was very delicious - not too sweet and plenty of mint! Ambiance was very chill, despite a bustling crowd. We walked in (without reservations) and were able to score a table near the bar within ten minutes. Highly recommend! Wonderful selection of beverages & food items available. [My BF was disappointed to not see their BBQ ribs on the menu (his fav), so maybe I'll get those next time!]

Larsen's never disappoints. Steak, Ahi, drinks, desserts, are all worth it. Happy hour or a special occasion this place is always a great choice.

Serenity! If I can use one world to describe Lazy Dog in…read moreOxnard is Serenity! We come here to celebrate the good times. But it is different when you need to escape the chaos and a "bad" day/week. Not only it is the confort food we seek, but it's the atmosphere! Adam, our FAVORITE MANGER, always takes the time to stop by and say hello. We met him as a server and since then he was one of our favorites! Another favorite person is Josiah. His energy is so positive, it turns our frowns upside down and we leave this place feeling like we received the hug we needed for years. He wasn't our server tonight, but he stopped and made us feel like we were family! And I cannot forget Kat and Viktor. Our server was awesome and took care of us. Viktor took his time to check in on us. Please come by Lazy Dog in Oxnard, when you are celebrating something, but more importantly, when you are not having a great day, you will leave feeling embraced!

I am not about to stroll into Oxnard and pretend I am some linen-shirted coastal ethnographer with…read morea tote bag full of artisanal certainty. I had never been here before. I was merely a road-battered pilgrim, six hours removed from Oakland, washed ashore near the freeway at the velvet fringe of Ventura County, in that glossy new development called The Collection, where every building looks as though it was approved by a committee whose mission statement was: Let there be ambient lighting and retail optimism. My dinner choices arrived like mildly desperate contestants in a televised pageant. Cheesecake Factory told me the wait would be twenty-five minutes and that they would text me. Reader, I assume that text is now trapped in a ravine somewhere, being nursed back to health by quail. Then there was some steak place whose name dissolved from memory before I finished looking at it. So into Lazy Dog I wandered, hungry, tired, spiritually fragile, and very open to persuasion. And I have to admit: the place has a certain charm. From the back at night, Lazy Dog is weirdly enchanting. The warm lights, the patio glow, the bottles shining through the bar, the whole thing looks like a lodge designed by someone who wanted to seduce exhausted motorists into believing life is still full of promise. Yet the actual entrance is oddly easy to miss. The restaurant is basically playing hard to get. A chain restaurant with mystery. A flirt. A woodland princess in practical shoes. Inside, the vibe is part upscale sports bar, part polished suburban den, part "let's make everyone from picky teenagers to diet-conscious moms to semi-hungover road warriors feel included." Buffalo Wild Wings, but after therapy, better lighting, and a semester abroad. The seating is not what I would call voluptuous. You are not sinking into a cloud of velvet mercy here. But the room is lively, social, and good-humored. It hums in that specific modern way that says yes, you may order tacos, noodles, a burger, or a cocktail with fruit in it, and no one will judge your lack of culinary allegiance. The cocktail situation was fun. I had the raspberry sangria, which tasted less like old-world wine-country sophistication and more like Hawaiian Punch got hired by a vineyard. It was bright, sweet, cheerful, and only slightly ridiculous. A prom queen in a stemmed glass. I did not hate it. I also did not see God. 3/5. Service was reliable, friendly, and sincere, which in today's dead-eyed hospitality landscape feels almost mystical. No fake grandeur, no attitude, no emotional frostbite. Just kind, competent people doing their jobs without making me feel like an interruption in their evening. That deserves respect. The menu is broad enough to make you nervous. Burgers, Italian-ish things, Thai-ish things, tacos, bowls, pizza, noodles, probably a diplomatic treaty if you ask politely. Usually a menu this sprawling suggests culinary panic. But Lazy Dog somehow lands on the right side of chaos. Not transcendent, not revolutionary, but steady in a way that is more useful than many trendier places would like to admit. The fried hard-boiled deviled eggs were the surprise star. In theory, this is the kind of appetizer that sounds like America whispering, "What if we made the picnic more reckless?" In practice: very good. Crispy outside, creamy inside, faintly absurd, and impossible not to admire. 4.5/5. The shrimp tacos were also solid. Bright, fresh, avocado doing its usual California diplomacy, pickled onions bringing color and sass, and the whole plate looking just photogenic enough to make younger foodie civilians feel seen by the algorithm. 4.3/5. The shrimp Thai noodles were decent too. Not an oracle, not a revelation, not the kind of dish that makes monks ring bells in the mountains, but flavorful and more than respectable after a long drive. 3.8/5. That may be Lazy Dog's real strength. It is not trying to be a sacred culinary temple guarded by tattooed sommeliers and fermented foams. It is trying to be open late, fun, dependable, and welcoming enough to make a tired traveler feel the night still has one last good chapter in it. And after six hours in the car, that is not nothing. That is grace with parking. So no, this is not the hidden gastronomic throne of Oxnard. But it is a lively, late-night, good-energy landing pad with charming exterior glow, sincere service, fun drinks, and better food than a cynic might expect. Would I come back? Absolutely. Mostly because Lazy Dog fed me, comforted me, and acknowledged the passage of time, which is more than I can say for Cheesecake Factory. Also, points for being open until midnight, because some places close early as if adulthood itself should have a curfew. Lazy Dog, by contrast, understands the nocturnal needs of the weary, the under-caffeinated, the gossip-prone, and the mildly glamorized freeway drifter still chasing one last decent meal before surrendering to hotel-sheet oblivion.

In Ventura's industrial area, the Cave is a nice, cozy restaurant that is hidden in the Ventura Wine Company shop. We were greeted by live music which made a lively atmosphere. They have the self vending wine machine with a decent variety of wines for all. I'm going to be honest - I did question the pour size. We ended up buying a bottle of wine at dinner instead and I'm pretty sure that was the economical choice plus it gave me peace of mind. I will say - the plating of the food is strange. Giant plates for small portions never really sits well with me. The kitchen's "thinly sliced" waygu steak was also off putting visually. The Jumbo Scallops w/Leek & Truffle Risotto ($46) is a must order. Scallops perfectly pan seared and that risotto I would eat by itself. The Lemon Chardonnay sauce was incredible. The Slow Braised Beef Short Ribs ($39) was okay. The meat fell apart as it should. The red wine sauce was okay but lacked depth. The creamy mashed potatoes were very good and seasoned perfectly. Wasn't mad that I tried it but would not order again. Wagyu Top Sirloin 12 oz. ($48) was very good despite the poor slicing. The creamy mushroom sauce was perfect to add some flavor but not overpower the protein. The Pepperoni Pizza ($18) was decent for my son. My daughter planned to order the Seafood Pasta until she saw all of her favorite things combined: Mac and cheese, bacon and pizza - the Mac and Cheese Pizza ($21) was honestly top notch. It wasn't overly heavy, the depth of flavor was great and it's extremely tasty. The spicy aioli was top notch. Overall, a good experience at the Cave. I recommend giving it a try.

For starters, I ordered the stuffed mushrooms with shrimp and the sweet corn chowder. The stuffed mushrooms were incredible, packed with flavor in every bite. The soup didn't disappoint either, and the bread they serve with melted cheese on top was so good. For my main course, I had the filet mignon with truffle pasta. It was good, but a little dry--I wish it had been more juicy. My boyfriend got the ribeye with lobster, and unfortunately that one wasn't our favorite. Everything tasted a bit overcooked. I'm thinking it may have been because of the large party, since our previous visit was much better. Overall, I'd definitely come back--but probably for a date night instead of a big group.
