I had booked our table a week in advance for Saturday night and enjoy our Valentines there. I had gone for my Birthday last year and it was great so we were looking forward to going again. When we arrived there was a ton of people waiting outside and inside and every table we could see inside was occupied. The music was nice. When we walked up they informed us that our table wouldn't be ready until 15-20min past our reservation. No big deal but for this time of year they should be planning accordingly. We walked around and Pandora is next door so we were able to look at some jewelry and kill time. I got the text and we headed over and the table was nice. The Valentines menu didn't have everything on it but it was still a great menu to pick from. We got a few appetizers, 2 entrees, and some butter cake to take home. The appetizers were pretty good. We got the lobster bisque which tasted really good but it wasn't hot hot when it came to our table and there was only 1 piece of lobster in it. For the price of the soup I was thinking it would have more than 1 piece. The creamy artichoke dip was pretty good, not great but not bad. We also got the bacon wrapped shrimp, which was very good but again was not hot on our table. For entrees my girlfriend got the Lobster Rigatoni and I got the Prime Rib. The pasta was awesome, a nice lobster tail on top, cajun spiced sauce, noodles were good, overall very good. came out hot and tasted really good. Definitely recommend. I got the prime rib, medium rare, and it came out it was a very nice size but pretty tough and again not hot hot. The creamed horseradish and au jus were good but the steak was not very tender at all. Tough chunks that my knife kind of had a hard time slicing through. We got the mac n cheese, creamed spinach, and mashed potatoes on the side which very good. We definitely had some leftovers. The butter cake is always good, even to take home and sneak a couple of bites. The service was really good, the servers were on it even with it being so packed. our waters never went empty and our food came out quick, but not too quick. when we were ready to go we weren't waiting on the check. I just wish the food had some better flavor and came out hot. for the prices you pay it should have some better quality. read more

I ordered for pick up last Friday, July 4th. My husband and I were excited to eat because we were hungry and it's from Larsen by Fleming! Starter was tuna with tartar which we did enjoy it. When we started to eat the pork ribs and tri tip, we both surprised how the meat was so dry and overcooked. SERVICE: We made reservations, staff was helpful and polite, and the venue was clean. Parking was simple. Either park on the metered street out front or in the back in the free, open lot. The restaurant comes with a price tag, so be ready to spend. FOOD: I went with the pork chop which was JUICY and DONE to be so thick! Do you know how hard that is? The Mister went with steak and as you can see from our photos, we also went with the crab cakes - a personal favorite. The cakes came with a really nice sauce. I hate you only get one side (veg vs starch) with your entree, but it seems normal with high-end restaurants. She actually accommodated me and sat me where I requested rather than where she was originally going to put me and she did so with a great smile and politeness. Came in for mine and my partners 2 year anniversary , and wow! Our waiting staff is always sure to cater to our needs if any. We started my ordered the Vanilla Sky , which comes very sweet and tart. For my entree i ordered the Blackened chicken pesto pasta and lemme just say , it is amazing ! The flavors just melt in your mouth , from the sun-dried tomatoes to the pesto ,I felt like Remy in Ratatouille. My Significant other ordered the Tomahawk Steak with Macaroni and Brussel Sprouts as sides. The Tomahawk was like butter , the macaroni was so hard to stop eating . In my opinion the Brussel sprouts were a-bit over crisped but more to my partners liking . To end our night our waitress complimented us with some strawberry shortcake as an Anniversary dessert, which i thought was such a sweet gesture ! My husband and I made reservations for 6:00pm. We were seated promptly. We then waited for 25 minutes and nobody helped us. Lastly, a staff member approached us and said he noticed us sitting for a while. He said he was not our waiter, but he could take our order. I was at this restaurant on the 12th of Sept. 2024 to take a colleague to dinner from out of town. I was very disappointed as my meal of tri tip and ribs combo was terrible. Perfection. Had a mini reunion with a couple of friends that I grew up with since I'm in town for the week. Friday night dining is always tricky. Every restaurant in the area had a 45 minute wait time. We passed this and figured why not. They didn't have a wait, but the downside was we had to sit outside. I say downside because it was freezing cold. They however had heaters which they moved closer to us after we asked. Our server, Fernanda came over to get our drinks order and gave us recommendations. What an excellent dining experience for Valentines Day. We ordered the Tomahawk dinner meal. It included a green salad for two, garlic mash potatoes, grilled asparagus and of course the 32 ounce Tomahawk. Larsen's has the best steak in Ventura County. This place is great for a date. They also have a nice room in the back for big groups and meetings. I've been to many steakhouses and this place is definitely not it. $160 for tomahawk steak and it was dry and bland. The sides were mediocre in taste. The butter cake was dry, dare I say the butter cake at CPK is way better... The service did not help with our experience. The slow and lack of attentiveness from our server (not having silverware for our table, our waters not being refilled and not being checked up on to make sure that everything was ok). As you walked into the establishment it had a comforting ambiance. We were greeted immediately by the hostess. The waitress was wonderful very attentive. The bartender served amazing drinks. We order raw oysters they were delicious. As for our main course we had trip tip and beef ribs. We also had stuffed chicken and a 5 cheese macaroni. When the came out the only that was warm were the plates. The tri-tip was overcooked and some were dried out. The chef attempted to mask the burnt and dried out meat by over saucing the tri-tip. The beef ribs were over seasoned and weren't edible. As for the stuff chicken the chicken was over cooked and not fresh. The macaroni was extremely dry. When taking our first bite we both can taste salt that was grinded on the cheese. We wanted try something that wasn't so expensive but hoping that the food was going to be good. A true chef would want his customers love his least expensive entrees and want to come back again and pay for their most expensive meals. We will never go again to this establishment. read more

The tri-tip was dry and covered with barbecue sauce. The food came to the table really fast, which leads me to believe that it was not made fresh at all. I was out on a work trip in Oxnard and googled places to eat. I came across Larsens Grill which had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. Upon walking up to the hostess stand you get a whole view of the restaurant and let me tell you we were all impressed. They had all local brewed beers, large wine selection and great mixed drinks. For appetizers we ordered bacon wrapped shrimp and oysters, the shrimp were perfect and their oysters were super fresh. I ordered 100% grass fed steak filet with mushrooms and a side of mashed potatoes. The filet was amazing and cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes were super creamy and delicious. Their Tri tip was also delicious. I would recommend Larsens Grill to anyone around the area. It will be a must for me when I travel to CA. read more

More importantly, than the food not being great for the price, I sat near the bar since the host said all the tables were reserved, and I watched over 10 tables remain empty for 2 hours. Came here a bit on the later side of the day. Called and made reservations for 9:30p to make sure that they will take us. Also mentioned to the young girl on the phone we're celebrating a birthday. Came, checked in and was seated right away since there was no other customers. The young waiter was polite, gave us the quick run down of the menu and took our order. I did felt slightly rushed when he said that last order needs to placed in 10-12 mins. Keep in mind that it was 9:35p and I was told kitchen closed at 10p. That was fine i guessed. Food was ok. Nothing too exciting. I did like the cheese bread. The place appeared nice and spacious. It's in a town center/ mall like area. You can park right in front of the restaurant.
