After a recent (very) cold snap complete with snow I thought my pipes had froze and burst because there was no water coming from the bathroom sink and the shower pressure was very low. I was kicking myself for not letting the faucets drip. It had been a couple days since temperatures reached above freezing and still no water at the sink so I concluded that the option that the pipes had froze but not burst and would return to normal was not my good fortune. So with a gulp, fearing the worst about the situation, I got on yelp to find a plumber. I was thinking "This is bad. This is very bad. How much is this going to cost? How much are we going to have to rip up the house to find the leak?" Going down the list of well reviewed plumbers I found Lanier. A friendly woman, Cindy, answered the phone. She took time to listen to my thoughts on the predicament and was not rushed. Then she cheerfully explained other causes of low / no water pressure after a freeze and a simple solution I could implement myself. Apprehensively I got off the phone holding out hope that her tid bit of advice was the answer. Magically! It was! I was overjoyed. Genuine customer service impresses me and they obviously do it well. The interaction was professional but friendly. They didn't try to gouge me for money with a phone operator who just made the appt. and a plumber who came out for an exorbitant fee just to find my little problem. I didn't feel like I had the hoodwinked or duped in anyway. I plan to renovate part of my house soon and based on this experience and other reviews I will definitely call Lanier in the future. read more

Very honest & reliable team. Dave and Shane were very professional & solved our plumbing problem quickly & for a very reasonable price. They arrived a little after 2:00 (with a phone call before arriving - very appreciated) and we're finished by 2:45. Truthfully, if we had called them first (before spending $$ on numerous failed DYI trips to Home Depot) we would have saved time & money. Next time, I'm just calling them first. For the record, I left messages with a few other plumbers before I called Lanier and I'm still waiting on those call backs. Lanier definitely gets my business from now on. read more

The staff at Lanier are friendly and professional. They have been out several times to fix plumbing in my house and I have been pleased with the service. If you have an emergency plumbing problem, they may not be able to accommodate you though. I called on a Sunday and they couldn't send anyone out, but maybe they just determined that my running toilet wasn't an emergency. read more

These guys are great. If you're in near north central Austin, it's the only outfit to use. read more

We had a shower backing up in a bathtub and vice versa. Shane happened to be working in the neighborhood and was here in less than 2 hours. He was finished in 15-20 minutes and was friendly, polite and knew exactly what he was doing. Thanks Lanier and thanks Shane. WE BATHE AGAIN!!!!! read more

Prompt courteous service. I've used Lanier both in an emergency situation and also for some regular repair work and have found them to be very professional and reliable. read more

They did a great job. Prompt, cheaper than I thought, and friendly. Just wish he had worn plastic over his shoes, the mud he trekked through the house was a BITCH to clean up after. No big deal though, mud can be mopped, whereas a good plumber is hard to find! read more

Great in all ways. They found a much simpler way to create a new drain and water hooked for my washing machine, which I was moving to a new location. Saved thousands of dollars from my first quote that I got from one the national companies. Work was finished on one day. Price was same as estimate and they did some other stuff at a lower price that they quoted. I have already recommended them to a good friend and would never hesitate to call them again. read more

I have had the best experience with Lanier plumbing & David. My family has an old house were renting and the gas had been shut off due to a leak, which then caused another problem to where I had to get the CITY to inspect it! LONG story short...They came out and fixed it to where it would pass inspection AND for way less than local competitors! They were so professional & friendly, they helped us out so much by getting it fixed & pulling the permit for the city to come inspect it & it was done very quickly, which got our gas turned back on when inspection PASSED! Also they had come the morning of just to make sure everything was good!! This is the way companies should be! Thank you so much! We will definitely be referring them & using them again in the future! :) read more

I have used Lanier for personal and business purposes and the level of service they provide is nothing short of fantastic...every time. David and his team are knowledgeable, efficient, honest and kind. They go above and beyond, which sets them apart from all of the other plumbers in Austin. These guys do it right and I will continue to recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services! read more

Lanier Plumbing has fixed plumbing problems for us more than once. Always great communication and great workmanship. Thanks!

Great experience, once again Yelp comes to the rescue. They replied quickly to my call, were flexible on scheduling, and showed up on time as promised with a pre-arrival courtesy call. They diagnosed my leaky pipe issue within a few minutes, and fixed it all up after running out to get some parts. I was not charged for that part-buying time which is cool. The fees for parts were very reasonable, about what I would have paid at Lowes. The guys were neat, professional, and efficient. Thanks! read more

If you live in or near the Crestview community and need plumbing service, Lanier is the one to call. Philip was out the day after we called and did an awesome job. He was prompt, courteous and most professional. I would highly recommend this local company! read more

He was knowledgeable, efficient and cleaned up nicely when he finished. I am extremely pleased with this locally owned company and will definitely use them again. read more

I recently hired Lanier Plumbing for the first time and was very pleased with the results. Cindy let me schedule at my convenience, and Phillip and his helper did a very professional job, leaving the work area cleaner than they found it. I can highly recommend them. read more

We had a sewer line back up in our front yard - pretty gross. They came out the same day and the plumber told me that it was the city's line. He suggested that I call 311 and that the city would fix it for us for free. Nice, professional and very honest! read more

I called Lanier Plumbing today after trying so many other companies. Unlike the other companies, I spoke with someone immediately upon calling Lanier. The very nice woman I spoke with asked multiple questions about my issue and was very thorough. She directed me to call the condo property manager to ensure that the proper procedure was followed regarding water shut off before they sent someone out. I never would have thought to check on this and the other companies (when they finally called back) didn't bother to mention it. It turns out that the issue does not require a plumber after all, but based on the customer service and prompt response I received, I would certainly go to Lanier with any future plumbing needs. read more

Best plumber I've used in Austin! I was told by another plumber that the bad pressure in my sink was because my house needed to be replumbed due to old galvanized pipes. He came and fixed my sink in five minutes and was SUPER friendly! read more

You know how you get vibes from people? I got a good one from these guys. (Other plumbers can seem like burglars with pretensions.) We hired Lanier for what we hoped would be a small job, replacing a couple feet of sewer line that a tree root had penetrated, that turned into a big job, digging up our driveway and replacing 10 feet of line. They were nice, communicative, and clearly knew what they were doing the whole time. They didn't charge me any money to run a camera down the line for diagnostic purposes, whereas another firm I'd had in for an estimate had told me there would be a $300 charge for that. Free diagnosis is good! Then when they started digging and the scope of the problem became clear, they were super up-front about it. Then they gave me a discount on the final price, because they're nice. Overall a solid experience in a (literally) crappy situation. I would absolutely call these guys again for a big job, although I hope I never need to! read more

I had my home warranty service send out a plumber from this business yesterday. My memory is a little iffy when it comes to the guy's name, but I think it was Terry. He was a gentleman and very patient with the numerous questions I had as a new homeowner. He explained everything he was doing, and put my mind at ease about any possible damage the leak could have caused. I was pleased with his service. read more

Service was very prompt and professional. Unfortunately, I was dramatically overcharged for a garbage disposal. I was initially charged $185 for a disposal that Home Depot sells for $80. I called and they were very nice and explained it was an error. The price for the part was was reduced to $120. I explained that I thought the 50% mark up was still very high, particularly for a part that I was told they carry on the truck. They would not further reduce the price. read more

Fabulous service, and amazing rates. I am now a loyal customer- am very grateful I gave them a try.

Paid for them to come out for an estimate of some major work to my home. After the plumber left, I was told they would send me an estimate. Three weeks and a few phone calls to the office later, still no estimate and the run around. read more

Lanier Plumbing has saved the day for us many times. I realize people go on Yelp to complain so I wanted to make sure to give praise when praise is so well deserved. We had a leak in a faucet in a cement wall. I felt badly to put the guys through so much work on a hot Monday! Phillip's comment was, "we know what to do and we will do it"! They were efficient, pleasant, and got the job done beautifully. They also worked well together which made the experience less stressful for all. I highly recommend this company and will use them again for sure! read more

My contractor used Lanier for major renovations to my bath and kitchen 2 1/2 years ago. This morning I discovered a leak in the main pipe under the kitchen sink. They only guarantee their work for a year, so I'm out of luck. One would think they would be interested in knowing what went wrong. Wouldn't use them again for anything! read more

I was referred to Lanier Plumbing by a longtime friend...and it was a great recommendation! I had a very simple task -- replacing a leaking gasket on a toilet. They arrived within the time window given. I was given a heads-up phone call before they arrived. Surprisingly, three men showed up (a bit overkill, I thought, for a leaking toilet), but I'm guessing it was a few apprentices in-training. All were nice and courteous. Project went a bit sideways (not their fault...more of a manufacturing issue), so it took quite some time for what I had assumed would be an easy task. But, they helped me understand the issues all along, and exercised caution in not risking permanent damage to my stubborn toilet tank. As time went by, I was worried about the bill I was racking up, but at the end, it was just a bit above what I had personally estimated the simple task would have cost. Despite the issues, that weren't their fault at all, they gave an extremely fair price and worked to resolve the issue that I'm sure they too hadn't budgeted the time for. It's a small joint. And, I did have to call twice to get a callback, but, they are very trustworthy and fair. Can't beat that in someone you are welcoming into your home and trusting with your property! read more

Phillip came with his helper to replumb a hot water line under our house. He took care of the job in an appropriate amount of time, made excellent recommendations about how to address the issue, and offered to install a faucet that I'd planned on doing myself, letting me know how it would affect the cost of the job. Given that I needed to go get the faucet first, he offered to "stop the clock" on the invoice while he went to take care of another job in the area, allowing me to purchase the faucet. I then called him when I got home, he came right over, installed the faucet and all was good. The bill was reasonable, Phillip was informative, prompt, courteous, and I can't say enough about the whole experience. The folks at the main office who take care of scheduling were just as nice and on top of things too. I'm very picky about plumbers - my dad was a master plumber, and I know what's a good job and what's lousy. I'd highly recommend Lanier, and ask for Phillip. read more
