Banh Canh/Udon Noodle Soup

My mother insisted on taking me out for lunch during one of my days off, however there are not many good Vietnamese restaurants in Federal Way but I remember coming to Lang Viet before with my family and it was pretty good. Good thing Yelp reminded me that it's not too far from my mother's house. The restaurant was nice decorated as if it's a small village in Vietnam with alot of cute decors. There's a good amount of space and seating in there, plenty of parking as it shares a complex with other stores. The service was exceptional, the staff was really attentive and friendly. The food was decently portioned and well-priced. It tastes authentic, flavorful and fulfilling. I would totally come back here and recommend you to try it out if you haven't already. They have some stuff on the menu that's very intriguing that I already want to come back to try.

I had been searching for a similar broken rice dish like the popular Vietnam House restaurant in Seattle Chinatown district once served in the early 2010s: the kind of broken rice dish that would have pork chop, shredded pork skin, fried egg, fried shrimp meat on sugar cane, and fried bean curd roll. Well, the only thing that was missing from this broken rice dish from Lang Viet is shredded pork skin, but yah know what? They still got other ingredients on that dish (look at my picture!) that would make it super acceptable. Just letting you know that this establishment is like no others... the restaurant interior looking clean & fancy. There is a bar for you to sit as well. It's a full bar, y'all. Additionally, I enjoyed looking at the decor corner, where it's being decked-out like a little village entrance and there is a literal corner with the old-fashion Vietnamese concession stand. Additionally, the service was good on the day I came in. I am not sure how it is when the restaurant is slammed busy, but I thought the lone server that provided service for me was really nice and even talked to me in Vietnamese. Let's talk about the food since I want to yelp about it. I ordered fresh spring rolls and special combo broken rice dish. Everything was really delicious, and I finished everything. My belly was happy on that day. I will definitely come back to this place in the future with my hubby!

This spot has become one of my go-to staples, especially since it's such an easy drive and there's plenty of convenient parking right by the Fred Meyer. It's the kind of place you can count on when you're craving something comforting but don't want to deal with any hassle getting there. I almost always find myself ordering the bun bo hue - it's flavorful, and hits every time. Their vermicelli bowls are another favorite of mine, super fresh and satisfying with the perfect balance of textures. Their meat and toppings are amazing. You really can't go wrong with either. What keeps me coming back (besides the food) is the service. The staff is consistently friendly, quick, and genuinely welcoming. There's just a warm, easygoing energy every time I walk in that makes the whole experience even better. Overall, it's one of those reliable spots that never disappoints - great food, great vibes, and super convenient. Definitely a regular in my rotation.

Pork vermicelli, chicken green mango salad and chicken lemongrass (?) (see receipt in photo) delicious

I included the receipt with what we ordered in the photo. Everything was excellent. We ordered a mix of dishes, including the grilled chicken, grilled pork, and lemongrass chicken bún bowls, and every one of them was excellent. The meats were flavorful, tender, and nicely grilled with that perfect char that adds so much flavor. The fresh herbs, crisp vegetables, and noodles all tasted fresh and balanced everything out really well. The sauces tied it all together and made each bowl even better. Nothing felt heavy or overly salty--just fresh, satisfying, and genuinely well made. You can tell care goes into the food here. Definitely one of those meals where everyone at the table keeps saying, "Try this one." Will absolutely be back

Very authentic. Taste very close to what my mom made. Brought back wonderful memories. Excellent service. Tried new things a second time and both times did not disappoint. Will be going back again.

Service is great! Everyone is always welcoming and friendly. I love their banh mi and bun bo hue. Their Vietnamese coffee is DELICIOUS and strong. If you're shopping in the plaza, i reccomend trying this spot out.

One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants to go to. If I'm not getting a bowl of pho I will get the Com thō láng viēt with their lemongrass limeade soda! The food is also cooked fresh. The service is top tier and the ambiance of the restaurant is amazing. There definitely spots for you to take pictures

I was really excited to try Lang Viet, but the food was not impressive. To start off with positives: It's located in a grocery shopping lot, so it was nice to find parking easily. Lang Viet also did a great job with their interior decor and it makes you forget that you are in Washington. The service was very friendly. I ordered the Vietnamese yogurt drink which was tart, creamy, and delicious. We ordered the Bo La Lot and Banh Xeo. The Bo La Lot was not memorable. It was dry and lacked the smoky, grilled aroma that I am accustomed to. I would not recommend the Banh Xeo. Instead of being crispy/crunchy, it was soggy and flavorless. Overall, I did not like the food enough to come back and would not recommend it.

Our pho was delicious alongside our spring rolls. The service was quick and our server was very kind. He even gave us some skincare tips because his skin was absolutely flawless! I LOVED the interior of this place! Their design and decor are centered on showcasing Vietnamese culture and is one of the main reasons why I enjoyed eating inside this place. This is my partner and his family's go-to pho spot - and may have to be included in my list as well.

Ambiance: my group and I went here for lunch and we absolutely loved the decor! It had a very tropical feel with the live plants and straw roof. It was an intimate but also fun atmosphere. The menu is extensive I'll have to try them all. Food: We all enjoy our meal thoroughly. My beef stew was so delicious, that deep beef flavor with the carrots. The pieces of beef were succulent and they even had bonus pieces of tendon. The bread, it was baked to order warm and crispy. Absolutely divine. Service: there was only one server but he was quick and efficient. They did bring out a plate of chicken fried rice instead of the tofu but the meal was prepared quickly so there wasn't too much of a complaint.

Lang Viet was delicious and great for family-style sharing. We shared two of the Khay Cuon Lang Viet trays which were the highlight of the meal. We also had the Com Tho Lang Viet which was a chicken clay pot fried rice. The rice was flavored very well and would definitely get again. The Goi Lang Viet salad was refreshing and we also had the Bo La Lot. Overall portions were generous and service was great! Hidden gem for Viet food out in Kent.

At exactly 6:40 PM, received the delivery order at my residence. Food was still warm and portions were more than adequate. Solid 3.5/5. Food…read more(2.5-4/5). We had 4 grilled pork vermicelli with egg rolls, 1 pho tai with beef meatballs, and 1 spring rolls. Vermicelli was a 3.5 as it was fresh and a good serving (4) but the grilled pork was on the cooler side and didn't taste as crisp and fresh off the grill as you'd expect (3). Best part of the pho was the broth as it wasn't too salty like it can be sometimes elsewhere (4). Veggies were super fresh. Sliced beef was previously sliced and the whole chunk was placed in so you had to tease apart the slices from each other which was a little different than my experiences elsewhere. SKIP THE SPRING ROLLS. Picture had three shrimps/roll. Ours had 1/roll on one side with a slice of pork (I think) on the other. Seemed pretty skimpy if you ask me (2.5 at best). Service was good (4). Location was in a small strip mall with a Mexican and Indian place next door. The bars over nearly the entire front storefront were definitely interesting. For an out-of-towner, this part of Kent seems like a Santa Ana/Westminister/Garden Grove of OC, CA kind of an area with different ethnic offerings up and down the street.

We went for the House Special and their Ultimate Oxtail and Rib Pho ... both were substantial, without knowing their size of Pho we went ahead and ordered our regular Salad Rolls! The amount of food was amazing! Broth was served super hot ( which is a must for Pho ) and also very flavourful! We came off a flight at Sea-Tac hoping to find something to satisfy everyone before the long drive home: The eye round and flank beef pho definitely hit the mark. Broth was more simple than some phos I've had before, but it had a very satisfying and fresh flavor and the beef quality was good. My husband ordered the mixed beef, and not having had tripe before wasn't a fan, but still enjoyed the other meats in the dish and overall flavor. Egg rolls were excellent and the fried rice was a favorite for my 10 year old. My 12 year old sampled and loved every dish equally. The owner was exceptional and waited on us like a one-man show he was warm and friendly us and our kids. The wait wasn't long, but he surprised our kids with chocolate after dinner for waiting patiently and smiled and joked with everyone in the restaurant and he moved around the restaurant. The restaurant itself isn't anything too exception in terms of looks or presentation, but the food and family feeling to it has definitely earned the respect of locals getting take out. We'll add it to the list of great places to stop.

My issue was the sanitary aspect or shall I say the lack there of. I mean it's one thing to see a couple hairs on the floor ya know but wow the amount of hair and debris in the floor looked like they hadn't cleaned in weeks. There was a a whole clump of hair under our table and hair hanging from the chairs. I dropped my daughter's blanket on the floor and my husband picked it up and he it had a pubic hair on it. The tables were not wiped off and the bathroom was a disaster zone. I mean if this is what they think their customers should deal with can you imagine what the kitchen looks like. The food was ok but I'm gonna be honest it's not something I would pay for again when there are other options that at least care enough about their customers that they actually keep the place clean and sanitize. I won't come back but if you don't mind eating in those conditions then it's your choice.
