Worst experience of MY LIFE!!! I've been coming to this place here and there for the last 2 years, normally theY are amazing and really fast BUT this last time I was there and I sat in my chair for 2 HOURS for a simple GEL MANICURE!!!!! nothing fancy no design. There were 3 pedicures and another gel manicure who arrived after me but left before me and there was only 1 pedicure tech and Alex the owner. So disappointed with this place. Alex was more in to his phone call than his customers. I don't know how new my tech was but she didn't know want she was doing she obviAouly shouuld not have been left alone doing nails. First off it took her forever to take my previous SNS polish off, she had to soak them 3 times! When she started filing it off she asked if it burned and if not to let her know when it did and when I did she continuously went over that same spot over and over on my real naill!! Then soaked them, took the foil off filed them again, soaked them again. Filed them again and soak them for the last time and filed the rest off. Second my nails real was a pretty decent length kind of long. I told her I didn't want to lose any length and said I wanted coffin shape nails. Instead of filing the sides she clipped with nail clippers and went way to far on the left side and barely on the right asked me if that was okay and I said no it crooked. She then went back in and clipped the left side more! So much more that when Alex came over and she explained everything to him he told me my nails were long enough to do coffin and that's why that happened. I was baffled, I've had coffin before on shorter nails at different salon. So Alex proceeded to my ring finger and cut it all the way to skin and filed it square and said that what he could do. At this point I was boiling and wanted to get out of there and said that's fine just finish. He left and the lady was to finish my nails. She cut and filed the whole right hand to my skin and the left hand she left the length and filed a little and asked if that was okay. I was annoyed and said no I want my hands to at least match and be the same size. She asked me 2 more times if was okay when one hand was still clearly way longer than the other. Probably an hour and a half later they matched close enough. Third the polish. I chose a sparkly white and a red. She didn't get the right polish then she only paint my 4 fingers and kept telling me she would go back for my thumbs. My fingers got 3-4 coats of polish as for my thumbs they only got 1 coat!! My ring finger on my left hand had a huge bubble from too much polish in one spot and I asked her about it and she said don't worry I'll file it down, she filed the sides and said i was good to go. I again pissed off and pointed to the bubble and she said oh! Let me go get him to fix it. Alex came over and had to completely remove the polish from that finger and redo because the bubble was huge. He said he was sorry, and then when he was almost done he said sorry and added you were here for a long time. (Like no duh) and that was it. Still paid full pricey for this crappy set of nails I've ever gotten and the absolutely worst customer service ever. Lastly, the polish job was bad. She didn't go all the way to to the cuticle or all the way done the sides. I got my nails done Monday. It's now Wednesday and they are already chipping. I work a simple desk job. They should not be chilling 3 days in for gel. I will never return to this place. It only took 1 horrible experience for me to never want to go there again. read more

Editing my 5 star rating: I have been coming here for several months now and I went from doing gel to the SNS. The last three times I have had the SNS dip done it has not lasted more than a week and it's super disappointing. So I am changing my rating because I'm not going to continue coming to a place where I'm not getting the quality I deserve. ---------- The salon is small and cute but upkeep is well. I had been going to my old nail salon for five years, but it was sold to new owners which did not carry the brand of nail products I like. So, after going through numerous reviews I selected Lana's Nails & Spa. I called to ask if they could do my manicure and pedicure if I drove over there in ten minutes and they said they could. So, I headed over. I was greeted by Lana immediately and she gave me the OPI color selections they offered. They had a TON of color choices, which was important to me. Juan did my pedicure and did any excellent job. Lana polished my toe nails and Lucy removed my gel color and set up her station to do a new gel manicure. As I was talking to Lana, she said that OPI has a dip powder that is excellent for the nails. I told her that the gel seemed to making my nails dry and thin. She explained that the dip powder would be better for my nails. So, I changed my mind and decided to try the dip powder. Lucy did an excellent job on my nails. At the end, my nails looked beautiful on my toes and fingers. Lana, Lucy and Juan were all very friendly. One thing I really loved about this salon is that the employees didn't speak Vietnamese among themselves. That is one thing that always irritates me when I've been at other salons because you never know what they're saying (or if they're talking about you). They all spoke fluent English. This is, by far, the friendliest nail salon I've ever been to and I will be back in two weeks. read more

I've been coming to Lana's periodically for over two years. Whenever I'm home for my breaks, I always make an appointment with Alex. Every tech that has worked on my nails (acrylics, SNS dip, gel, regular mani, regular pedi) has done an amazing job and is always very thorough and detail-oriented. The girls know I have horrible cuticles. They're severely dry and even though I know to put cuticle oil on nightly, I neglect to do it, resulting in cracked and flaky cuticles. However, everyone is always so nice about it (I've been to salons where they are absolutely rude to me about my cuticles), which makes me feel less self conscious and more comfortable. I always walk out satisfied at Lana's. They are usually busy, so call in and make an appointment beforehand. They recognize regulars and really make you feel welcome. For the holidays, they gave all their customers tubes of lotion that they use, which was a nice treat! Obviously I'll be coming back whenever I'm in town. I recently moved from Houston, TX, and if you moved from one major city to another. At times it can be hard to find establishments for services such as a nail salon. I recvd a pedi in March 2019 after searching reviews effortlessly for nails shops the visit went well. The younger lady named Fin or Tin not sure of her exact name did my pedi. The next month the owner Alex did my nails w/o an appt. both times was w/o an appt. and Alex encouraged me to set an appointment for my next service which I did on Wednesday May 22, 19. I asked if I could do the latest appointment he said 6 pm, mind you the shop closes at 7 pm so I arrive at 5:50 coming from across town, and I did not have my pedi start on time until 6:30. The older lady who works there and starts off the pedi by doing the massage polish remove etc she started on me around that time. Note there was no one available at that time so I did not mind waiting. About 7pm she finally finished the parrafin remover I bough the $43 package pedi .... I had to wait another 20-30 mins for the younger lady Fin or Tin to finish my gel pedi !!! It took awhile for the older lady to remove the old polish and it took a while for Tin to finish as well. I told the manager or whoever she was I would like to have a bling toenail showed her the picture she price me $7 before Tin started and afterwards it went up to $10 no problem. Tin could barely add the shape rhinestone I picked out to my nail she was dropping things and it was taking wayyyyy toooo long to apply the shapes so I asked her to just add the rhinestones. Now I am the only customer in the shop everyone is cleaning up and staring at her finish my toenail note she had to also paint my toenails for what I'm still lost why couldn't the older lady do it because she does not know how to apply gel polish that's why ! So it's my fault they weren't prepared. My problem is I was charge extra for the "time" Tin took to do my bling toenail. No one told me I would be paying extra for waiting on them and I told her to keep it simple since no one can add larger rhinestones to my toenail. When I asked why the price was increasing she said you are paying for my time to do your toes. Ma'am I did not ask you to do my toenails. You had me waiting not only once but twice that's 40 mins out of my appt. You also could not do my toenail the way I showed you on the picture. Besides forcing me to pay more at least give me the heads up. Don't insinuate because I'm A BLACK woman I don't tip. Which is a highly thought of stereotype for black women at the nails shops!!! When I tried to discuss the price she pushed it off as if it didn't matter. I can't believe these ppl made ME feel like I was messed up their night by rushing me and my toenails after I had an appointment I was on time for! We did not leave out until 8:05 pm on May 23 19 Not fair I was so disgusted I cried I'm tired too I want to go home just as bad as they want to! I've been at work since 6 am drove in 40 mins of traffic to get there. If it was going to be a problem to do a job that was already discussed beforehand they could have told me they had no rhinestones. I feel as if the extra charge was unfair and I know for a fact they don't charge others for extra time to fix a nail they messed up or applied Crooked ! One day Alex told me out his own mouth he will give me a two weeks courtesy if my nail break to do it for free. One day my nail did break idk how but it broke last month and he fixed it for me. Free of charge so why would me requesting a service from the beginning be an extra charge. If fin would have asked for a tip I would have gave her one like I did the very first time I came to this place I tipped w/o her asking. But I will not be returning. I don't like how they treated me. I could have acted a donkey fool but I refuse to give racists ppl the benefit of the time that is what society expects of blacks to go crazy on them. So I paid them there money because I work hard just as them and can pay for my services. I will never return to this place ever again! They didn't even have a variety of rhinestones and she couldn't get it right the first time I kept asking her how to apply the rhinestones she did find which is not what I pictured it to be. Terrible experience...... please ask up front what your pricing would be and how much EXTRA will it cost them for their time. Lana's is a small (8 pedicure chairs, and 6 stations for nails) and updated nail salon with extremely friendly employees! I got an SNS manicure for $35 and am really satisfied with how they turned out. They have a TON of colors to choose from. From start to finish (I had SNS on my nails that had to be taken off) it took a little over an hour. One of my favorite things about the manicure was that the nail tech made sure to make the surface of my nails even -- I've noticed that sometimes I'm left with a bump in the middle of my nails from the powder. I only took off one star because the edges of my nails didn't catch the powder and are left a lil bare, but it's something that's not a huge deal. read more

I have been coming here since I moved to N. Phoenix 2 years ago. I have since moved to Ahwatukee which is very far so I know my visits will be much less frequent. However, I love this place and everyone who works here. Alex, Lana, TN and everyone else always remembers my name. Appts are strongly encouraged, it can be very busy so I always call ahead. Whenever I call they ensure they can get me in. Lana put me on to SNS back during my first visit b/c gel had completely ruined my nails. Everyone thinks I have acrylics on but they are my real nails and Lana's Nails & Spa always ensures they are healthy and done right. I was very excited to try SNS powder for the first time, being a long time gel wearer. I chose Lana's because of the proximity to my house and the star rating on Yelp. Unfortunately, I will not be back to this nail salon. I will start with the positives: Pro: The salon is clean and the staff was very friendly. The nail tech that was to be working on me was running late (I had made a 5pm appt), so another tech came over and started removing my gel polish. I appreciated this. When my tech finally made it over to me (around 5:30), she was apologetic for being late. Con: As I already mentioned, they started me late. But the timing only got worse from there. Now, this was my first time doing SNS, but a friend of mine who turned me on to it said it only takes her gal about 30 minutes. My service took an hour and fifty minutes. Yes- 1:50! I was starting to wonder if it would ever be over. They were starting to close shop around me. On top of that, the tech messed up on one of my nails and had to add two more coats of powder, making it thicker and darker than the rest of my nails. That's the kind of thing that'll drive me nuts until I get this stuff off. But because it had been almost two hours and I needed to get home to my family, I didn't ask her to redo it. I've started a review for Lana Nails a dozen times, but can never decide how to communicate what an exceptional place it is. I have visited probably 20 salons in Phoenix Metro before finding this place. And while I found places fancier and more expensive, there was always--ALWAYS--something disappointing in the manicure or pedicure. A bit of sloppiness, roughness on the nails, a bad massage, jagged cuticles or polish jobs that were chipping in a day or two. At Lana's, I have NEVER been dissatisfied by the techs. I have my favorite, Tien, whose talent and friendliness make each visit a delight, but my daughter has had her nails done by most of the staff, and they are all excellent. This has been my place since I moved here 2 years ago. All the nail techs do a wonderful job! My two favorites are Gia and Lucy. My biggest problem I always encounter is choosing a color! There are so many to choose from. I usually have an idea and the girls make it come to life. I've always been pleased with the service. I ended up having an awful experience at this nail salon. I initially came to only have my daughters nails done for her birthday and even though I scheduled with the male owner, when we arrived, he took a look at us and asked if this lady named Cindy wanted to do her nails. My gut vibe was that he saw that my daughter looked young and thought this lady (who was reading a magazine because they were dead slow at the time) would be able to handle her. She started to speak to him in their language as if she didn't think she could or that maybe she didn't want to. (Idk I hate when they do that and think it's super rude.) But off their body language, and the fact that he kept seeming to make comments to Cindy that she just needed to do a simple nail color with tips, that was the vibe I was getting... Anyway, Cindy ended up encouraging me to have my dip nails filled as well while I was there. So she did a so so job on my daughters nails (nails were not shaped well and she didn't clean them up but my hope was that my daughter at least had a good time and if she liked them then that was all that mattered.) Cindy then was my service person for just a basic dip on my nails which were already nice and long. She was all over the place with her steps and she seemed like she had no idea what she was doing. I tried my best to have faith throughout the appointment and thought maybe it will all come out fine in the end but unfortunately not only did my nails look awful but she destroyed my natural nails that I have been working on growing for a long time. I mean I'm no professional by any means but like for instance at one point I saw her take the electric nail filer and went vertical on one of my nails that she already started to dip which made a huge white streak down the new dip color she was applying and instead of just starting over and redoing it she just tried reapplying another couple coats to cover it up. It was bad and only getting worse to the point where I didn't want her to do anything else. She filed my nails so hard and aggressive on only the sides that she ended up taking layers of skin off and had me bleeding all over the place. Instead of stopping my bleeding right away like most people in salon for sanitary reasons, she just kept grabbing more tools to file and "fix" more. As a medical professional, the worst part was that she allowed me to bleed everywhere. The drill was even turning red from my blood and I'm not even sure she cleaned anything. She was extremely messy. Thankfully I do not have any diseases that would infect others but it makes me worry what other people she was doing before me! She kept trying to prompt me by saying things like, "Ah they look good right?" To which I had to tell her no I don't think they do and that she is hurting me. She then finally asked the original male who should have done my nails in the first place to come to fix them. He then said he would need to add more dip but it will make them look thick. I told him that I don't like the look of thick dip powder and I'm assuming because he was telling me this that he also agreed it would look ugly. He then said well they might break because he had to file them a lot to fix her mistake. I said well I get dip so that my nails are strong and do not break. He then just got quiet and didn't say anything else but kept filing and trying to fix them. I had no other options other then take what ever he can do to fix them. Even though I felt like I was extremely nice and almost wish I could have gone back in time to demand better customer service. I left paying full price almost $100 giving them both a small tip since I felt bad for keeping them after hours. He still gave no sort of apologies or care if I was happy or not. Instead my daughter and I walked out with them arguing over who should get the tip I gave. The only comment he made was that IF I decide to come back, that I have him do my nails. I ended up getting emotional and crying to my husband about it later which is totally ridiculous now that I think about it! My husband who is not a fighter by any means wanted to take me in the next day to demand a refund but I hate confrontation and just thought I would write a review so that hopefully it may prevent someone else from having this kind of experience. I got my nails done by a gentleman (I can't remember his name) and was really creeped out. Every time he looked up at me he would do a weird giggle laugh in the most uncomfortable way. The first time I was there I ignored just thinking he was a bit odd. But then he went on to randomly talk about how in Japanese restaurants they put sushi on naked women bodies!!! Very weird conversation to have while getting nails done. I'm not trying to ruin a business but he really didn't do a good job with my nails. I say this because not even one week later I reached for my phone and my nail broke right in half. The next day Lana the owner was nice enough to fix it for me even though it took 30 min for one nail. But she even asked where I got my nails done as if they did not look proper enough. I think she was shocked when I said I got them done THERE! Anyway if you do go let Lana or any other lady do your nails try not to let that gentleman do it unless you don't mind creepy and an uncomfortable nail session. I will not be returning back. Got a pedicure here yesterday. The water was super hot and I felt uncomfortable I should've just walked out before they even started on my feet but, I'm not that mean. Wanted to give it a try here. But, no I still stayed and I still paid and also gave a tip. Burnt my feet and ur also felt like a chemical burn in the water. I kept telling the lady it was too hot and she just kept laughing and finally changed it. So I will never be returning back. They never understand you or take anything serious. This nail salon is a tucked away gem that I've recently discovered. Anytime I try a new nail salon, I am sure to check the reviews to see what other customers had to say about their experience. After reading amazing reviews about this establishment I decided to give it a try. Upon entering the salon, the first thing I noticed was the cleanliness. The floors, work stations, the pedicure tubs, down to the front windows were spotless. I initially came in just for a pedicure but after hearing their prices, I decided to go ahead and get my nails done. Let me say, I'm glad I chose to do both. The nail tech that did my toes cleaned each cuticle, massaged my feet as if I were a God, and listened to my request about the shape of my toenails. The tech that did my nails did an amazing job. She took great notice to perfectly sculpting each nail and making sure that she was gentle during the whole process. I would 100% recommended this nail salon. I was looking for a new nail spot since I moved to Phoenix in 2017. I have finally found my perfect salon! It was clean, fun and peaceful. I got a manicure and pedicure. The manicure was wonderful, my technician was Alex. He talked me into trying the dip polish and OMG it's the best! It's been a week and a half and they are still perfect. I always wait a couple days to see how my nails do before writing a review, and I was not disappointed! I found Lana's on Yelp because I wanted to try a new place. I did not make an appointment and while they were busy on a Thursday morning, I did not wait too long. They did an amazing job, took their time, and everyone was friendly and professional. There are so many gel color options! Business was steady the whole time I was there. They also have a stamp card if you go there often. There is a two week guarantee for your nails. I've been here a few times now and always have such a wonderful experience. Alex is always so welcoming and friendly. I never feel uncomfortable walking in. Ana does my nails and Im always impressed. Great pedicure, one of the best massages I've received. The basic pedi is $22 and I added the sugar scrub for $6. Customer service was good and they offered water which is appreciated. Space is smaller than expected but they have 8 pedi chairs and about 6 nail chairs. Clean, friendly and good products. read more

Great little nail salon. Don't let the location fool you. The staff is very friendly, and when AZ heat makes you thirsty their offering of cold bottled water is a plus! They do a great job with their services and I really liked that it was not a big place that can sometimes be overwhelming with the number of clients and chairs. It was a very homey atmosphere.
