Originally I stopped in to look for a replacement lampshade for my home office. I was really impressed with their large selection of lighting, pricing and customer service. After seeing my options on the actual lamp shade and then doing a lap around the store to see what floor lamps they had, I instead made the decision to replace my lamp entirely. The one I had was cheaper and outdated and since I'm entirely working from home in the near future, I decided to treat myself to an office spruce up. They had a wide variety of floor and table lamps that run the gamut of modern to minimalist, fancy, bling-y, simple and classic. Once I decided on my floor lamp I was helped right way by a staff member who looked to see if it was in stock at the store. It was not but he was able to order it for me with free shipping-due to arrive within a week. The translation was easy, I'm thrilled with my new lamp and customer support via their service number is also excellent. I received one of the glass lamp shades with a slight scratch on it and after speaking with their customer support line, they are sending me a replacement cover right away at no cost. If I'm ever looking to replace any other lamps in my home, I would definitely make this a first stop. Sure some items are pricey but they had a lot of sale. So. My girlfriend and I stopped by a half hour before closing time and were just going to look around because we already had everything setup to order online. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Natacha Lewis, very friendly and helpful she asked if she could do anything to help! After 6 years, I needed to replace a light bulb on a kitchen fixture, but the new bulb, with the same inventory numbers, didn't fit. I brought the fixture back to Lamps Plus in Concord, and we resolved that I need to purchase a new fixture. When I returned for the pick up, the manager refused to accept payment for the new fixture, although he was in no way responsible for the tiny change in the size of the current bulbs. The customer service here is exceptional. I went in yesterday looking for matching shades for a matching pair of vintage lamps. Michael helped me select some options and assured me that if I was unhappy I could return the shades as long as the plastic remained on. He also sent me home with several harp sizes which would help in adjusting the shade height. Once home, I realized that the shades just didn't look right, so the next day I went back to the store with one of my vintage lamps. Michael carefully carried my lamp from my car to the store and allowed me to have fun trying different sizes and colors of shades. We went to Lamps Plus to buy a replacement ceiling fan. Payam met us as we entered the store. He was friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable. He gave us a great deal of information but then allowed us to wander through the store and look at various models without hovering over us. He gave us printed information about several fans we were considering and invited us to send photos and measurements of our living room. Through some digital magic he was able to email the photos back to us showing the fan we were considering. This was very helpful. When we returned to the store he made a clever suggestion that saved us some money. He also recommended an installer who did a terrific job, also. Good selection and customer support was quick to help and did not shadow me while I was shopping. It was a bit unwelcoming when I first walked in. I was approached like I did not belong there. I guess I was a bit dirty since I was in the middle of a renovation... Only issue I had was the lamp was missing the bulbs(home depot charges $15 a bulb...) and was short a decorative screw. I did not notice until after I installed it. Rather than repacking the entire thing to exchange it I went down there to see if I could get the hardware. It was a bit awkward and I had to push a bit to convince them it was not something I overlooked. Initially the manager wanted me to go back home and see if the hardware bag that he was about to show me was anywhere to be found. I almost lost it since I had already spent about $30 in bridge tolls and gas goin back and forth, and about a couple hours of my time. Of course I would not drive all the way back there without looking first. Also, in my experience missing hardware is not an uncommon thing when buying products from overworked employees in China. Anyway, I did receive the hardware bag but it felt like the manager was kind of doing me a favor. There were no apologies. It seems the guy still thinks I lost the hardware or that it was still in the packaging. It definitely was not there. So long story short, be sure to check all the hardware is there and if anything is missing, repackage everything and bring it back to exchange. Otherwise, you may have to jump through some hoops. If you do have to go through this realize you will be dealing with a manager who thinks hes running Tiffany and Co in NY and unless you have your tie or at least your polo shirt on, you will not be getting any respect. Though he will reluctantly provide you with a favorable outcome. At least in my case. Good luck. read more
