We bought some ceiling lighting here that we had to return, in the original boxes, because we felt we needed a different design element. We worked with Glencora and she was very accommodating and professional on the return. We also purchased under cabinet lights from her. She recommended a switch for them but they were different then the switch someone else in the store recommended. The switch cost more than $70 and we did not want to damage any of our lights at $50 each (x10) so it was important to get it correct. After a few phone calls, Lamps Plus gave us their final recommendation. We purchased and installed what they recommended and all went well. The reason for my 4 star rating, rather than a 5 star rating, is due to Lamps Plus' recommended installer, Bay Lighting. Our experience with them was very disappointing and that is a reflection on Lamps Plus as their recommended service provider. read more

I was having trouble finding a halogen light bulb for my can light. Went to lamps plus and talked to Rachelle. I did not bring in the old light bulb in but described it to her. She knew what bulb I need but halogens are hard to find. I was given a LED to replace it. Once replaced the lights would not completely turn off. Rachelle was able to trouble shoot the problem and figured out the light switch was not rated for LED light bulbs. I purchased the right light switch that was rated for LED lights. We bought a beautiful chandelier for over our bathtub. They only had the display model remaining. Hommed was kind enough to box it up for us and actually put a rod through the box so the chandelier remained hanging. He didn't want any of the crystals to get crushed. Customer service at its best!! Flexibility and willing to search on a discontinued, discounted lamp that was located at other bay area stores. I needed a matching one. San Jose only had 1 floor model left. We would not had picked it if just viewing from web page. But looking at it and seeing the quality materials and solid build made us pursue it. I know technology is advancing the ability to view products this is why store shopping still is very important. We appreciate the informed dialog with manager/staff at San Jose Stevens Creek store. It would have been nice if they would have offered to shipped it from the Dublin store to San Jose for me. That would be 5 star worthy.
