So I have been to Lambert's several times over the past few years. Yes, you usually have to wait, especially on the weekends but 45 min wasn't crazy for a Saturday evening. Service was great as I was checked on numerous times & sent or given everything I needed quickly & with a smile. I ordered the homemade chicken pot pie. It had good flavor but the dough/crust seemed to over take the filling, as I think there was more crust than filling which would have been okay except the bottom of the pot pie was basically still dough. It served/cooked in a silver tin and the top crust was perfectly cooked so no sure if the need to foil the top & then remove it to make sure the bottom is cooked but they need to do something. My sides were green beans & baked potatoes which were very tasty! The Sides & Rolls (thrown-rolls) are yummy and well seasoned. My coffee was a little on the weak side but I find that a lot more lately when eating out. All in all I would recommend Lambert's & will come again & try something new like I do each time I'm here. Entering, you notice this establishment is like no other. It is a good ole down home country vibe. I heard about it some time ago and thought I must needs visit if I get close to it. How happy I was to learn it was on my way to Branson, Missouri. It is phenomenal! The service is great and the food makes you want to move next door so you can eat there every day. It is just like I heard. They throw nice big fluffy rolls to you from beyond the 3 point line. I made two completions. Shame on me if I didn't. The throws were perfect. I asked our server Sammy about what to order for my first time visit and she gave me a couple choices, including the chicken fried steak which comes with mashed potatoes and white or brown gravy AND 2 sides. I chose sliced beets and turnip greens. Both were perfect. Wifey ordered a chicken pot pie with peaches and cut corn. She was pleased with her food. What we ordered would have been enough, BUT they say come hungry when you visit. They came around with more delicious sides for free. Those included fried okra, macaroni and tomatoes, fried potatoes, black-eyed peas and I forget what else. We got stuffed. The drinks are served so big we didn't need refills. Wifey took what she had left to-go. I trust their desserts were great, but we were topped off. I would love to visit again to try another of their many dishes. I highly recommend Lambert's Cafe. Been a few years, time for an update. Lambert's is a road trip staple in our family. If we are driving by it, then we are most likely to stop. I prefer to stop on our way to a destination as the meals are VERY large and I usually have left overs I can take with me to make a second meal. The premise here is down home cooking with huge portions and a fun atmosphere. They literally throw rolls for customers to catch and eat. The kids and adults love it! Let's talk food. We've tried most the entrees and enjoyed most. Our faves are fried pork chops - ORDER THESE, fried chicken, chicken pot pie. You get two sides with each meal PLUS they bring around additional pass arounds. We LOVE the pass rounds - fried potatoes, black eyed peas, fried okra. YUM! Their rolls are everything you've heard and seen on the signs and more! Huge, fluffy, always hot. I love that they have honey on the table to go with them. We haven't been quite as impressed with the pork steak here... if you live near a bbq joint, get your pork steak there lol. You can't love it all right lol. The service is always friendly and helpful. Even when there is a crowd they don't rush you. They top off drinks, bring pass arounds multiple times, have additional offerings for purchase like cinnamon rolls and always have to go boxes ready. Know that you can't share a plate here, but you can order just a pass around plate if that's all you want. Drinks are served in HUGE cups and always stay full. This place is also a huge draw for traveling busses so don't be surprised to see busses in the parking lots. Even when they come in it doesn't make the wait too long. Know before you go - your entire party has to be on premise and in line for them to seat you. If someone is in the restroom, you will have to wait. If someone is parking the car, you will have to wait. This keeps the wait short for everyone. Even if there is a wait, it's worth it. Snag an outside seat and enjoy the weather until you get seated. read more

Daughter in law had meatloaf, carrots, canadied and masked potatoes. She said it was good. I had Liver and Onions, candies yams and white beans. Liver was ok, yams and beans were good. Luby's Liver is better. Service was very good. Polite people. Huge restaurant. Good for families and groups. read more

The wait was only about 15 minutes but there was only two of us. I had the hamburger which I didn't care for. My husband had the chicken tenders which were wonderful. If you love fried okra it's wonderful along with fried potatoes and black eyed peas. Those are brought are with macaroni and tomato sauce continually by the servers. Keep that in mind when you order. The waitress was friendly and our food came out hot. Our drinks came out in quart cups and never had to be refilled. Go for the fun of catching the rolls. Don't order a burger. read more

Dear sweet baby Jesus, yes!!!! If you're in the area, they go here! It's worth the wait. :) I came across this place on a google search by accident and it caught my interest. So glad it did! There was about a 50 minute wait, which from what I gather is pretty normal. You can kill time in their gift shop or on the front porch area. The restaurant is huge and has several different themed areas. Everything seemed clean and in good repair. The servers were super nice and attentive. As soon as we were seated someone came around with the "pass arounds." (These are several side items that they just bring around during your meal, in ADDITION to the sides you order.) The fried okra was awesome as were the fried potatoes. We didn't have room to try too much more, as the meal portions were very generous! The price was more than I would normally spend on lunch/dinner, but don't let that put you off. It's a unique experience, good service, and a ton of (really good) food!!! So glad I came across this place! It was 30 min out of the way, but so worth the special trip. The fried pork chops were very tender, and the country ham had a great salt-cured taste. Lambert's is an iconic place to eat here in the Ozark's so we expected a wait. They said 30 minutes but it took over an hour. Once we got seated we got drinks and enjoyed the "Hot Rolls" and fried okra. It took another hour to get our food. The food was on point as usual and the servings were generous. The server was slow, it took him three trips to get the drinks right and then he brought the wrong food orders but it was so late that we just took the food so that we could eat and leave. read more

We found the most Midwest restaurant in Ozark, Missouri! From the minute you walk in you are thrown back in time when Americans were traveling across the plains. Everything is extra big. From the coffee mugs to food. It's not cheap but you do get lots of "extras" with your meal. Also, keep your head down as the buns can be flying all over the place. I had the chicken pot pie and it was so delicious! Wife had the pulled pork with potato salad. Both were delicious! No way she could finish it in one seating. The potato salad was the best, BTW. I wish we could have got one for the road but we had no way to store it as we were passing through. read more

We went here the other day, very disappointed in the entire experience. Had to wait about an hour to be sat down. Then we waited another 20 mins. for our orders to be taken. The rolls came around once. The entire meal and that was just at the beginning. The other pass around never came by. It was a small portion for the price of our meal. Plus while you wait, there's a little store you can shop at. The thrown rolls are amazing. Just put your hands up and catch!! And they are warm and so so fresh! And omg do they taste ahhhmmazzingg!!! Wow. The staff also comes around with a bunch of sides that are unlimited. I guess the meal is also unlimited but I could barely even eat half of mine, it's so much food. This is a must place to eat when in the Ozarks. The service is always great. The food is delightful. The pass arounds potatoes and onion are absolutely delicious . I come just for the fried potatoes and onion. The room is decorated with flags hanging from the ceiling and license plates on the walls. The wooden frames and tables remind you of being in an old cowboy movie. You know you are fixing to eat some good food....lol My steak bites were good but the meat wasn't the best cut or as tender as I prefer. The severe came often offering the free pass arounds. What a fun concept! You pay for people to throw bread at you while you wait for your food. Kids of all ages enjoy this experience. There's no reservations or call ahead, you just give your name to the person taking names and wait patiently for your table. From opening to close, plenty of people are waiting for a seat outside and in the air conditioned gift shop. The walls of the restaurant are adorned with historical license plates, signs and flags from different states. It's a lot of fun and the food is hearty. They send "pass arounds" around that they just put on your plate if you want them. FYI, you cannot share a meal, or else you will be charged $12 for the pass around plate. You should just order a separate meal. The food does take quite a while to arrive so just get the throwed rolls and fried okra while you wait. The best pass around is definitely the potatoes!! It was so fun that our family had dinner Saturday and brunch Sunday here. We would definitely return when in the area and recommend for anyone looking for good comfort food and a fun atmosphere. What. An. Unforgettable.Experience. I had never been here and I had never heard of it. We came with a team of more than 20 people, rollin' deep from Minnesota, without a reservation. Once we all arrived, they promptly sat us, three long booths and a standard booth. First things first, this place has their priorities straight. They had a waitress bringing out fresh fried okra and scooping it on your napkin, she was moving through the aisles like she was a stewardess on an airplane. And she kept coming through even after we had our food. I kept seeing signs on the wall and on the menu that it was the home of "throwing rolls" and I had no understanding of what that meant and I don't think I was ready for it. Then it happened. It almost hit me. Fresh rolls being tossed though the air. A different waitress saying "fresh rolls! Anybody else?!" And the patrons go ape $@&% throwing their hands up like their NFL wide receivers, I'm talking grandmas getting up for the rolls, it was epic, it was fun, and it brought so much joy to the atmosphere! Next thing I know, there's a plate with fresh fried catfish, bacon and cornbread on our table. CATFISH IS MY ALL TIME FAV!!!! We tore that up like a disciple getting fed by the Lord when he fed the five thousand. Now I was about to order the catfish until I saw the frog legs on the menu....I can get catfish at home but I can't get frog legs in Minnesota. Next thing, the waitress brought molasses to spread onto the rolls they threw to you....my first time having molasses on a fresh, hot dinner roll with melted butter on it. HEAVEN The frog legs were good but they weren't as good as the catfish, and they weren't as good as the fried chicken wing my wife let me try. But the I saw the food the rest of my peeps ordered and it looked and smelled legit. You better believe I'll be back. Go get some "throwed rolls" and delicious country cooking! We arrived at the perfect time- just minutes before the dinner rush...right before 5pm on a Wednesday! We were seated promptly and rolls started to be "throwed" our way and Tanner came to take our order! Drinks are served in giant insulated cups and chosen by color for the type of drink you chose. When the food arrives, we had SO much! The salmon was perfectly cooked, served with its sides in a large skillet. The kids' burger and chicken tenders were cooked perfectly. My pick was the chicken pot pie- it is enough for 2 people and is Ah-Ma-Zing! Overall, the sides with each meal were fantastic- my faves were the cucumber and onions and the coleslaw- I'd avoid the green beans- they are just from the can. THEN, the pass arounds started to arrive- molasses and apple butter for the rolls, perfectly cooked fried okra bites, the crunchy and seasoned fried potatoes and onions (not fries or tots), and fairly tasty black eyed peas (we passed on the tomatoes and macaroni but I'm told it is good- if you like tomatoes). I'm not sure where to start with this one... Service: I can not say enough good things about the way we were treated right from the start. Six of us showed up yesterday, 7/3/23, right at 5 pm. When we signed in, we were told it would be about 30min., we were seated in about 15 minutes, and almost immediately, the servers with the pass arounds started approaching the table to dole out their wares. Austin, our server was AMAZING! He was polite, friendly, welcoming, and VERY efficient. We never went without anything, and he checked on us frequently. Food: THE food was top-notch, amazing, and AWESOME! Everything we ordered, our entrees, sides, and pass arounds were all fresh, hot, and tasty. The rolls are fresh and delivered via "air-mail"... all you have to do is raise your hand and get ready to catch. I REALLY can not think of anything to complain about when it comes to the food. Ambiance: Lamberts is known for their "throwed" rolls, and the server really does throw them to you from across the room . Just raise your hand and be ready to catch.
