Lamas was great. Service was fast and friendly. The food was bomb. I had the birria tacos - they were a hit! Husband had the lomo and it was good. Definitely pay them a visit. It's worth it. Oh p.s. this is for the food truck.

First time trying Peruvian food and I enjoyed and ate every bite. This is a food truck set up in a parking lot. They had picnic tables set up in the lot and were pretty quick. I thought that the meat was under seasoned, but the green sauce gave it a lot of flavor... without it, it would have been bland... overall good value and quick.

Good food for a decent price. I got 3 small chicken thighs for around $20. My friends also liked the quesabirria. It had outdoor seating and is next to pillar point pier. Take a walk to the pier after eating and enjoy the ocean views! There's a lot of fishermen on the pier always catching crab and various species of fish. Service was fast and efficient.

Excellent spot for a quick lunch in Half Moon Bay. We went to the food truck. I ordered the lomo saltado with shrimp and the cheesy yuca. I loved the lomo saltado with shrimp but would skip the cheesy yuca next time. My bf ordered the lomo saltado with steak, which he liked. I had a bite of his & it was good, but if you like seafood, shrimp is the way to go. They also serve Mexican food here, which I didn't try, but if I were in the mood for Mexican food, might be worth a try.

Found this place on Yelp and was enamored by the pictures so decided to check it out during my lunch break. The food truck was really easy to find it was in the parking lot by the harbor. I ordered the Lechonada Peruana and Cheese Yucas. Lechonada Peruana (4.5/5) The Lechonada Peruana was delicious. The pork belly was very soft and the sauce was flavorful. It was also a large serving size and I ended up eating the left overs for dinner. Cheese Yucas (2.5/5) I was very excited when I saw cheese yucas on the menu because it sounds delicious but unfortunately they were very average. They were lightly fried and fluffy but lacked flavor.

Hmm, I wonder what happened here. This cafe is inside the often vacant Shoppes at Harbor Village where they face stiff competition from the more renowned La Costanera. Interesting how the only two restaurants in the mall are both Peruvian like there's a ceviche face-off that's about to occur. I tried it after taking a walk from Moss Beach and decided to sit in the mall to eat. I went for the $17 Pollo Peruano, a trio of slow-cooked chicken thighs marinated in spices. It was served with salad and a scoop of white rice, and there was a thimbleful of their peppery rocoto sauce that was hardly enough to use (photo: https://bit.ly/3ulyCBx). The poultry itself was somewhat overcooked, though the offset was the $6 Platanos Dulce, a generous plating of sweetened fried plantains (photo: https://bit.ly/3bCgyMZ). I was the only one dining there except for a senior couple who stood steadfastly in front of my view of the TV with nary a thought that I was there watching. Anyway I returned a couple of months later. This time there was no sign of that senior couple. Apparently they found their remote at home. More concerning was how I stood at the counter and waited for someone to wait on me. Even though the staff came in and out of the area, absolutely no one acknowledged my existence even after I welped an apologetic "Excuse me". I won't speculate why I was ignored, but I left out of frustration and went to La Costanera. Now I know why there are two Peruvian spots in the mall. Sheesh. FOOD - 3 stars...stellar plantains overshadowed by overcooked chicken thighs AMBIANCE - 3 stars...watch out for indifferent, immobile TV watchers in the mall SERVICE - 1.5 stars...didn't feel ignored on my first visit TOTAL - 2 stars...well, I know another Peruvian place... I was visiting Prince Harbor late last summer. We were across the street at Hob Dogma, the brewery. While we were standing outside, I looked over and saw Lamas Peruvian truck. I walked over, checked out the menu and walked away. That was a mistake! Today I figured out what my mistake was. I only took a look at the Mexican menu and did not see their Peruvian offerings. Today I ordered the ceviche mixto, french fries, along with an Inca Cola. That Inca Cola took me back to my childhood. Back to thee ceviche. Oh My God, that ceviche was delicious and fresh and that freshness was verified by my fisherman friend Omar. Also, you have the option of how spicy you want your ceviche. I like heat and believe me, I got heat. He had the Grilled Chicken taco plate and was happy with it. I can wait to go back and try some more of the items on the menu, thankfully there are lot. The service is great and you can taste the pride they take in their food. Keep in mind it's a food truck and there are some nice picnic tables there.

If you are looking for homemade good quality food this is the place! They offered both peruvian and mexican food. The service is great, owner is very friendly and makes sure everyone is okay. They have tables outside in case you want to eat there! We will definitely be coming back! Highly recommended!

-Bistek A La Probre [rib eye, fries, rice, fried egg, fried plantains, sautéed tomatoes and onions] ($22) mhmmm so freaking bomb - ive never had Peruvian food before and this is truly one of the most amazing dish i tried recently!! I love the combination of the sweet, the savory, and the spices were so well balanced ‍ besides the amazing food options that were available the staff were equally as amazing. he even shared with us his house made special spicy sauce which was SPICCYY but paired so well with what we were having. The item on the menu I ordered was on the day special -- though it may not permanently be on their menu they have something very similar. i'd say that it's half outdoor and a half indoor meaning that it is not directly inside the restaurant itself but it's outside within the plaza/hallway. if y'all are in the area make sure to stop by bc 10/10 its so so worth the try tip: large parking lot, shared plaza bathroom with a code (make sure you ask the restaurant staff)

They forgot to remove the beards from the mussles.

We've been coming to this restaurant for a few years now and Service/Food is always great but today we had some issues with our order/quality of food. We ordered the Ceviche Trio, Lomo Saltado de Carne, Plantanos Dulces, Choritos A La Chalaca, Guacamole with Chips and Chicha Morada $80. First Issue we had was with the Ceviche Trio $25. One of the Ceviche with the squid in it was inedible. It was hard and couldn't chew it because it wasn't left enough time for the lemon to cure it. The owner know this as she said she was going to make it as they were out. Second issue was the Choritos a La Chalaca $13. They were delicious but two of them weren't clean properly and the mussle beards were still left in the mussle. Plantanos Dulces $6 we're delicious as always with a side of crema. Lomo Saltado de Carne $20 was delicious although it seems the plate has less meat than previous times we visited. The lady at the register was very nice and helpful so was the man that was helping her drop off food but let's talk about the owners nasty attitude and lack of caring to hear about the muscle still having the beards attached. As a previous restaurant manager I appreciate feedback when things like this happen and in this industry you need to know how to professionally take criticism but when I mentioned it quietly (even spoke Spanish in hopes that other customers didn't understand) to the owner she had a snarky remark and brushed it of like she wasn't at fault she asked me why I didn't return them. I wasn't asking for a refund or anything. I wanted her to be aware of the situation. I know what it is and just removed it but any other customers would of thought it was hairs or something worse. Her bad attitude and her not wanting to replace the inedible ceviche in the first place was a total deal breaker for us (granted later she did replace it but before that she told the server to tell me she wasn't going to since I had already taken the plate‍). Sadly we will not be coming back to eat here any longer. There's other great choices in the area (Mezza Luna, Barbara's Fish Trap, Seafood Market) and I refuse to support any buisness where the owner has a crappy attitude for something she were at fault for. For her sake I hope her Chef doesn't keep calling out as her cooking isn't as great as his is.

Plantains

We were very excited to try this restaurant and unfortunately, it didn't cut it. When we drove into the parking lot we saw the food truck and I'd wanted a sit down restaurant. We called to verify and the restaurant is inside the empty glass mall, at the very end. Restrooms are a few businesses away and you need a code to get in. The gentleman helping us was very patient and helpful at the counter. You order, pay, then take a number for them to deliver it to your table. I had expected something different. We had ordered the plantains as dessert and they arrived first, as an appetizer. These were delicious! However, it said it came with a side of sour cream and instead it had the consistency and taste of cream cheese. Our drink, chicha morada, was also very good. However, it was not refreshing and cold as I had expected. My son had a seafood dish Pescado a La Macho and he thought was okay, but he said the rock fish was delicious! I ordered a pasta dish with steak Tallarin Saltado and I couldn't chew the steak. It seemed like it was just compromised of left over pieces of gristle. Completely disgusting! Once our food was served, we were never checked on again.

Sub par everything AND overpriced. Not authentic Peruvian cuisine. Go to la costanera instead for the the same prices, better quality.

It is located off a newly renovated street where new high rise development were put in to increase dwelling density and foot traffic. It is not quite there yet, but I can see where this is going. It is held in this square near a business park so there is plenty of parking. There is a grassy square where families like to lounge with picnic blankets and lawn chairs. There's usually a dj dishing out tunes, a beer and wine tent, and about 8-10 food trucks lined up in an organized fashion. It goes every Friday in the warm months so from May to October. If a holiday pops up on a Friday like 4th of July they will skip it. Starts at 5pm and goes to about 9pm. Bulk of the crowd goes from 6:30 - 8. I go to about 2-4 per year since 2017, with the exception of 2020 cuz y'all know why. You can see the food truck line up each week on their website or socials. So I like to scan that and if it looks promising then I'll text some friends/family if anyone wants to meet up after work on Friday. If the weather is nice, it is just a just a festive and social way to start a summer's weekend. Now even tho I like these events I don't always like food truck food. Sure it is trendy and you do get to sample and /or get stuff brought to you in one area. But I often just find many of the food to be just average at best at prices that rival sit down dining. So to me I like scoping these out occasionally but I don't think they are worth going to on a frequent basis. I also feel that there aren't enough places to sit and eat once you get your food from a truck. There is a small area where they put out portable picnic benches, but those fill up with just 20 people or so. Otherwise you have to sit on the lawn and come prepared with blanket or lawn chair, or find a concrete planter box to sit on, or go back to your car to eat. Another reason why food trucks events often leave me hanging. But bring a warm typical Bay Area summer's evening where it doesn't get dark til almost 9pm and you want to be amongst your community and commerce, this event will do you more than fine.

There was even some line dancing going on in the makeshift stage area at some point. Sound was not the greatest, the volume quite low even for a small event, but it was fine. There were about 8 food trucks to choose from, along with a few random vendor/service tents (like Bass Pro Shops). Decided on sliders and garlic fries from the Curveball food truck. The food was okay, good enough to satisfy my hunger (see my separate review on that). I snagged one of the few spots in the grass with shade on this hot evening, though they also have tables and seating here, partially shaded too. An actual restroom (not porta potties) on site, in the Fremont downtown event center building. Also, plenty of space available in the parking lot. This is a pretty low-key community event, free to attend and grab a bite to eat, and just hang out for an hour or two.

We booked and prepaid for a food truck to serve more than 75 guests at our company event. Unfortunately, the food truck was a complete no-show. Even more frustrating was the fact that when we attempted to reach the weekend support contacts provided by Roaming Hunger, none of them were available. This was especially concerning after being assured via email that we would be in "great hands." What should have been an enjoyable event for our employees and their families quickly became a stressful situation. Several employees had to spend a substantial portion of the event trying to resolve the issue instead of enjoying the celebration with their coworkers and loved ones. As a result, we experienced event disruption, disappointed guests, lost employee time, and additional unexpected expenses. The lack of proactive communication was perhaps the most disappointing part of the experience. There was no notification that there was an issue, no immediate assistance when the food truck failed to arrive, and no explanation when we urgently needed answers. While Roaming Hunger ultimately apologized and provided a full refund, it was received five days later and does not make up for the inconvenience, stress, and negative impact the situation had on our event. A refund may correct the financial transaction, but it does not restore the time lost by our employees, the disruption to our event, or the disappointment experienced by our guests. Based on this experience, I would have serious reservations about relying on Roaming Hunger for any future event.

The TV series is long gone, and my attitude is now properly adjusted. The upper floor dining area can be reached by a magnificent staircase (or an elevator). The view outside is stunning at sunset, waves, beach, breakers and all. But be sure to be seated on the water side, because the parking lot dominates the view otherwise. Two dramatically lit bars are very eye-catching, one upstairs, the other down below. There is something about dining beneath a soaring cupola that is elegant beyond description. Soft music enhanced the mood. My order was BBQ Ribs ($19.00), nominally an appetizer, and a side of coconut rice ($6.00). The ribs were a very generous portion, tender, and glazed with a truly excellent BBQ sauce. Honestly, the glaze was better than I've had in restaurants specializing in ribs. The coconut rice was as good as I could imagine, perfectly steamed, and a generous portion to boot. The combination was mouth watering as well as satisfying. Peruvian beer, specifically Cuzquena Lager was the perfect libation. Karen C. was the server, and she displayed absolutely no characteristics of a Miami Vice villain. She was prompt, accurate and friendly. She did not need an attitude adjustment. The restaurant is a few miles north of HMB, and well worth the drive with a very adequate parking lot servicing the shopping center.
