Lamas was great. Service was fast and friendly. The food was bomb. I had the birria tacos - they were a hit! Husband had the lomo and it was good. Definitely pay them a visit. It's worth it. Oh p.s. this is for the food truck.

First time trying Peruvian food and I enjoyed and ate every bite. This is a food truck set up in a parking lot. They had picnic tables set up in the lot and were pretty quick. I thought that the meat was under seasoned, but the green sauce gave it a lot of flavor... without it, it would have been bland... overall good value and quick.

Good food for a decent price. I got 3 small chicken thighs for around $20. My friends also liked the quesabirria. It had outdoor seating and is next to pillar point pier. Take a walk to the pier after eating and enjoy the ocean views! There's a lot of fishermen on the pier always catching crab and various species of fish. Service was fast and efficient.

Excellent spot for a quick lunch in Half Moon Bay. We went to the food truck. I ordered the lomo saltado with shrimp and the cheesy yuca. I loved the lomo saltado with shrimp but would skip the cheesy yuca next time. My bf ordered the lomo saltado with steak, which he liked. I had a bite of his & it was good, but if you like seafood, shrimp is the way to go. They also serve Mexican food here, which I didn't try, but if I were in the mood for Mexican food, might be worth a try.

Found this place on Yelp and was enamored by the pictures so decided to check it out during my lunch break. The food truck was really easy to find it was in the parking lot by the harbor. I ordered the Lechonada Peruana and Cheese Yucas. Lechonada Peruana (4.5/5) The Lechonada Peruana was delicious. The pork belly was very soft and the sauce was flavorful. It was also a large serving size and I ended up eating the left overs for dinner. Cheese Yucas (2.5/5) I was very excited when I saw cheese yucas on the menu because it sounds delicious but unfortunately they were very average. They were lightly fried and fluffy but lacked flavor.

Hmm, I wonder what happened here. This cafe is inside the often vacant Shoppes at Harbor Village where they face stiff competition from the more renowned La Costanera. Interesting how the only two restaurants in the mall are both Peruvian like there's a ceviche face-off that's about to occur. I tried it after taking a walk from Moss Beach and decided to sit in the mall to eat. I went for the $17 Pollo Peruano, a trio of slow-cooked chicken thighs marinated in spices. It was served with salad and a scoop of white rice, and there was a thimbleful of their peppery rocoto sauce that was hardly enough to use (photo: https://bit.ly/3ulyCBx). The poultry itself was somewhat overcooked, though the offset was the $6 Platanos Dulce, a generous plating of sweetened fried plantains (photo: https://bit.ly/3bCgyMZ). I was the only one dining there except for a senior couple who stood steadfastly in front of my view of the TV with nary a thought that I was there watching. Anyway I returned a couple of months later. This time there was no sign of that senior couple. Apparently they found their remote at home. More concerning was how I stood at the counter and waited for someone to wait on me. Even though the staff came in and out of the area, absolutely no one acknowledged my existence even after I welped an apologetic "Excuse me". I won't speculate why I was ignored, but I left out of frustration and went to La Costanera. Now I know why there are two Peruvian spots in the mall. Sheesh. FOOD - 3 stars...stellar plantains overshadowed by overcooked chicken thighs AMBIANCE - 3 stars...watch out for indifferent, immobile TV watchers in the mall SERVICE - 1.5 stars...didn't feel ignored on my first visit TOTAL - 2 stars...well, I know another Peruvian place... I was visiting Prince Harbor late last summer. We were across the street at Hob Dogma, the brewery. While we were standing outside, I looked over and saw Lamas Peruvian truck. I walked over, checked out the menu and walked away. That was a mistake! Today I figured out what my mistake was. I only took a look at the Mexican menu and did not see their Peruvian offerings. Today I ordered the ceviche mixto, french fries, along with an Inca Cola. That Inca Cola took me back to my childhood. Back to thee ceviche. Oh My God, that ceviche was delicious and fresh and that freshness was verified by my fisherman friend Omar. Also, you have the option of how spicy you want your ceviche. I like heat and believe me, I got heat. He had the Grilled Chicken taco plate and was happy with it. I can wait to go back and try some more of the items on the menu, thankfully there are lot. The service is great and you can taste the pride they take in their food. Keep in mind it's a food truck and there are some nice picnic tables there.

If you are looking for homemade good quality food this is the place! They offered both peruvian and mexican food. The service is great, owner is very friendly and makes sure everyone is okay. They have tables outside in case you want to eat there! We will definitely be coming back! Highly recommended!

-Bistek A La Probre [rib eye, fries, rice, fried egg, fried plantains, sautéed tomatoes and onions] ($22) mhmmm so freaking bomb - ive never had Peruvian food before and this is truly one of the most amazing dish i tried recently!! I love the combination of the sweet, the savory, and the spices were so well balanced ‍ besides the amazing food options that were available the staff were equally as amazing. he even shared with us his house made special spicy sauce which was SPICCYY but paired so well with what we were having. The item on the menu I ordered was on the day special -- though it may not permanently be on their menu they have something very similar. i'd say that it's half outdoor and a half indoor meaning that it is not directly inside the restaurant itself but it's outside within the plaza/hallway. if y'all are in the area make sure to stop by bc 10/10 its so so worth the try tip: large parking lot, shared plaza bathroom with a code (make sure you ask the restaurant staff)

They forgot to remove the beards from the mussles.

We've been coming to this restaurant for a few years now and Service/Food is always great but today we had some issues with our order/quality of food. We ordered the Ceviche Trio, Lomo Saltado de Carne, Plantanos Dulces, Choritos A La Chalaca, Guacamole with Chips and Chicha Morada $80. First Issue we had was with the Ceviche Trio $25. One of the Ceviche with the squid in it was inedible. It was hard and couldn't chew it because it wasn't left enough time for the lemon to cure it. The owner know this as she said she was going to make it as they were out. Second issue was the Choritos a La Chalaca $13. They were delicious but two of them weren't clean properly and the mussle beards were still left in the mussle. Plantanos Dulces $6 we're delicious as always with a side of crema. Lomo Saltado de Carne $20 was delicious although it seems the plate has less meat than previous times we visited. The lady at the register was very nice and helpful so was the man that was helping her drop off food but let's talk about the owners nasty attitude and lack of caring to hear about the muscle still having the beards attached. As a previous restaurant manager I appreciate feedback when things like this happen and in this industry you need to know how to professionally take criticism but when I mentioned it quietly (even spoke Spanish in hopes that other customers didn't understand) to the owner she had a snarky remark and brushed it of like she wasn't at fault she asked me why I didn't return them. I wasn't asking for a refund or anything. I wanted her to be aware of the situation. I know what it is and just removed it but any other customers would of thought it was hairs or something worse. Her bad attitude and her not wanting to replace the inedible ceviche in the first place was a total deal breaker for us (granted later she did replace it but before that she told the server to tell me she wasn't going to since I had already taken the plate‍). Sadly we will not be coming back to eat here any longer. There's other great choices in the area (Mezza Luna, Barbara's Fish Trap, Seafood Market) and I refuse to support any buisness where the owner has a crappy attitude for something she were at fault for. For her sake I hope her Chef doesn't keep calling out as her cooking isn't as great as his is.

Plantains

We were very excited to try this restaurant and unfortunately, it didn't cut it. When we drove into the parking lot we saw the food truck and I'd wanted a sit down restaurant. We called to verify and the restaurant is inside the empty glass mall, at the very end. Restrooms are a few businesses away and you need a code to get in. The gentleman helping us was very patient and helpful at the counter. You order, pay, then take a number for them to deliver it to your table. I had expected something different. We had ordered the plantains as dessert and they arrived first, as an appetizer. These were delicious! However, it said it came with a side of sour cream and instead it had the consistency and taste of cream cheese. Our drink, chicha morada, was also very good. However, it was not refreshing and cold as I had expected. My son had a seafood dish Pescado a La Macho and he thought was okay, but he said the rock fish was delicious! I ordered a pasta dish with steak Tallarin Saltado and I couldn't chew the steak. It seemed like it was just compromised of left over pieces of gristle. Completely disgusting! Once our food was served, we were never checked on again.

Great food. I sat outside and was cold but I almost didn't mind because the food was so good. I would go back if in the neighborhood.

I definitely was not expecting that when I first ordered the super chicken quesadilla for $14, so it was a very pleasant surprise. Chicken is definitely this place's expertise, and they also have fried chicken on the menu which is uncommon among taquerias. For $8.5, you can get a combo plate with 2 pieces of fried chicken, a sandwich roll, and some sides. This sounds like a good deal that I'd have to come back and try out. As for the environment, the restaurant was more on the casual side. It was pretty small and lack good heating, so it was kind of cold sitting near the back. The tables were also slightly dirty and we had to clean it ourselves.

I think it came out to $13 + change. Next time, I'll ask if I can sub an agua fresca for the beverage option. Being that it was my first time eating at Taqueria La Gallina, I was pleased to see they have a healthy amount of indoor & outdoor seating. You order inside at the counter, pay, then dine-in or take your food to-go. On a Tuesday at lunchtime, only 2 other customers were seated at a booth inside. My baby super burrito was delicious, & just the right size for a lunch appetite. I have a feeling the standard Super burrito must be HUGE! Will definitely be back to try more from the menu, especially since they serve fried chicken - I'm intrigued

My family has been coming to Taqueria Tres Amigos ever since they first opened their doors in 1985…read more I wasn't able to experience it until I was about four years old in 1988, but from that point on, it became part of our Half Moon Bay tradition. Whenever we made a trip to spend the day at the beach, we always stopped here first. It eventually became more than just a place to eat before heading to the coast. Sometimes we'd make the drive all the way from San Jose just because we were craving their Carne Asada Dinner Plate. To me, that's always been a sign of a truly special restaurant. Fast forward all these years later, I'm happy to say Taqueria Tres Amigos is just as delicious as I remembered all of my previous visits. , My husband and I stopped by again this past weekend and we left feeling full and happy. Some restaurants change over time, but Taqueria Tres Amigos has remained remarkably consistent, and that's something I really appreciate. We both ordered the Carne Asada Dinner Plate. The steak was exactly what I was hoping for: tender, well-seasoned, and full of that delicious grilled flavor that has kept us coming back for decades. Every bite reminded me why this has always been my favorite order. I've tried their Tacos and other dishes, but I always end up missing my Carne Asada Plate, but I know we all have our own favorites. This one is just mine! The rice and beans are just as good. The Mexican rice is flavorful and pairs perfectly with the steak, and I've always loved the little touch of shredded cheese sprinkled over the beans. It's a simple detail, but it's one I've looked forward to for years. One thing I also enjoy is their self serve chips and salsa bar. We filled up a basket of fresh tortilla chips and helped ourselves to their salsa before our meal arrived. The salsa has a fresh, homemade taste with just the right balance of tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and lemons. It's one of those things that's hard to stop eating while you're waiting for your food. The portions are generous, and every plate comes with all the classic sides: flavorful rice, beans, fresh shredded lettuce topped with cheese and tomato, creamy guacamole, and sour cream. It's a satisfying meal and I know I've already said this, but Tres Amigos will always leaves us full and happy! After nearly four decades, Taqueria Tres Amigos remains one of my all time favorite Mexican restaurants. My husband and I still visit around 10 to 15 times each year, which says a lot about how consistently good the food has been over the years. Whether you're heading to Half Moon Bay for the beaches, taking a scenic drive down Highway 1, or simply looking for authentic dependable Mexican food, I highly recommend stopping here. Some places come and go, but this one has earned our loyalty for four generations, and I hope it continues serving families like mine for many years to come. Thank you for many years of service!

Very popular taqueria in Half Moon Bay. Sounds like they've been around for over 30 years. So way…read morebefore a Sam's Chowder House or Dad's Luncheonette was even a glimmer in someone's eye for this town. Lol. I've probably driven by hundreds of times within that time frame but just tried them twice within this year. Big menu board above the register. You order there and either wait til your number gets called (for take-away) or it'll get brought to your table if eating in (a number marker is given). They are crazy fast here, so even if you see a line of 6 or more people, don't worry. Upon placing an order, I usually get my food within 5 minutes. But not sure if that's entirely a good thing as I'm sure much of the food is pre-cooked and just ready to assemble. I do love how efficient that line moves. I also like how the bev cooler is right behind the register person so it is easy to glance on what they have, no need to look for text. I also appreciate how their register system doesn't automatically prompt you to tip. In this era where tipping culture is getting out of hand, they are not actively part of trying to hop on that bandwagon. Now the parts I don't really like. I don't like how their salsa bar is part of the flow after paying. It is right in the corner of the ordering area, so people who are taking stuff to-go or about to sit down are forced to get jammed up in this corner. I've never seen a taqueria put a salsa station in a spot quite like this. And speaking of salsas, they only have 2. A chunky red which is kinda spicy and smooth green which has no heat. And I wasn't in love with either. It was ok but maybe I expected more from a track record of over 30 years. It was mid at best. I was also really surprised and disappointed that for a taqueria in a coastal town that they don't try and include and capitalize on good seafood. The only seafood they have is shrimp and tilapia, which they use for ceviche and tacos. But you're a coastal town and you're only fish is farmed tilapia? Come on amigo, you're better than that. Barbacoa Plate ($14ish/3.5*) I tried almost a year ago so I'm going by aged memory. I remember the portion being very generous that I had to take some home cuz it was just too much for one outing. But basically Mexican pot roast where beef gets cooked super slow until tender. There were warm spicing going on, maybe some dried chiles, maybe even some cumin and cinnamon. With warm tortillas it was indeed a hearty meal. But since it was all meat, the bites just got tiresome after a while. I added some mushrooms and tomatoes to the leftovers as I was reheating it and topped it with pickled onions and jalapenos. It was much more interesting that way. Lengua Taco ($5.50/3.5*) Their tacos are about 4-5 bites, so not as tiny as I've seen, but not big either. The tortillas are just warmed through, no oil nor fry texture. Their lengua was cubed nice and quite tender, but it was also pretty bland. And their mid salsas just kinda helped it a tad. Tostada ($7.50/4*) I chose carne asada and if you want bang for your buck, take this route, albeit a tad messy to eat. Crisp tostada shell on the bottom, smeared with refried beans. Which I love as I really like crisp corn tortillas with beans. Then an impressive amount of finely chopped carne asada tops the tortilla. Then a ton of shredded iceburg lettuce tops that and a tomato slice. This was the equivalent of eating like 3 tacos, so price wise, this is a serious value. The carne asada is well seasoned but after a few bites gets kinda tough as it cools. Which led me to believe that they had a bunch of chopped carne asada ready to go and just scooped it. Fast yes, but juicy and tender, not really. Still very filling but hella messy to eat. I used some tortilla chips to scoop up everything that fell off the tostada, which is a lot. Very fast and very value oriented. If those are important to you, this will be a good fit. For me the food just isn't special enough for me to come back. I can find similar quality just about anywhere in The Bay.
