There is cream is the best in Lockport with their house made ice creams. They have such fun flavors for every season. My family loves the trick or treat ice cream that comes around near Halloween. That ice team is full of candy crushed up. The service is so good the employees are so helpful when you ask questions. The ambiance is so good it is one of the only ice cream shops that stay open all year round. The in door seating is nice or if it's warm to go out to look at the locks. Wow! Just wow! This is really excellent I've cream. We went with more traditional flavors: Revolution Coffee, house chocolate and black raspberry truffle. The coffee is from beans from a local coffee shop. You can see flecks of coffee beans in the ice cream. The house chocolate is a dark chocolate, rich and pairs great with the coffee for a mocha flavor. The black black raspberry has a strong berry flavor with little flavors of chocolate. Stopped in today with my wife , daughter and in laws. A lot of very creative flavors and everyone seem to enjoy the ice cream. My wife and I shared a flight so we got to try nine flavors of ice cream, which was a ton of ice cream and generally we loved all the flavors. Our daughter actually abandoned her standby, which is chocolate, to share ours! I did try her chocolate, which I'm not a huge fan of normally, it was very solid and very flavorful. So why not more stars? Well the flight of ice cream was 10.50. a single scoop with chocolate was 4.50 And it was $1 for the sprinkles. Yet somehow, our bill was $22. You're also asked the tip on that with a minimum tip of 15 to 20% for pre calculated choices, which is maybe what you would tip a really good server. It's definitely not what you should be tipping someone is spent 60 seconds scooping you some ice cream. Unfortunately by the time that math really computed in my head we were already on our way out but I did double check the prices and they were correct. I'm not sure if they're charging $6 fees for using credit cards or where the extra charges came from and unfortunately my wife opted not to get a receipt. I don't get to come out here often anymore but I knew I needed to stop in on National Ice Cream Day 2021! Some family and I came in on National Ice Cream Day 2021 (a Sunday) at about 11:45am. Their listed flavors didn't fill the entire chalk board they have up but we had just as a hard of a time figuring out what we wanted! The staff behind the counter were ready to take our orders. They were pleasant and courteous and smiling, which was really nice to see. As always, the inside of the shop is clean and comfortable and we were able to find a table and enjoy with no issues. I ended up ordering two-scoops in a waffle cone (treat yo-self!). The bottom scoop was Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and the top scoop was The Dirty Scoop (a new flavor!). There were tons of chocolate chips and nice globs of cookie dough in the bottom scoop while The Dirty Scoop was exactly as described - brownie batter ice cream mixed with semi-sweet chocolate and soft chocolate cookies. Both flavors were creamy and loaded up but of the two, The Dirty Scoop was my favorite this time. There were nice pieces of chocolate cookies within and the flavor truly was decadent. And of course, the waffle cone was excellent, though mine fell apart and I needed a bowl (though I was the one most likely who caused it to break apart :) ). This is our second time here - we've had the boba drink and have tried 8 flavors of the ice cream. They had butter lamb flavor for Easter it was yum. The young person that cashed us out was helpful with ordering when they found that they were out of the boba flavor I ordered I appreciated the extra help in ordering! I haven't been to Lake Effect in a while and my husband has never been there. So we decided to take a ride and check it out. My normal choice in ice cream is a plain chocolate custard so this is a treat trying unusual flavors. I'm not sure with the covid 19 restrictions if they were offering samples but didn't ask. Their set up was good starting with requiring masks to the center of the room blocked off which made for an aisle rather than people crowded at the counter. Today I got the black raspberry truffle and he got salty caramel. Nothing too crazy but I'm also a sucker for black raspberry and it was loaded with dark chocolate chips which were more like chunks! Delicious! husband said his had ice crystals in it, not smooth like he expected. I love the fact that they're locally owned and make their own ice cream. Sitting outside watching locks in the canal is an extra bonus. Definitely worth a return trip. read more

This time around we decided to go the Lockport location after a round of golf. What a treat! We got the happy birthday specialty sundae and must I say YUM! It isn't the most extravagant or unusual thing they serve just a classic. It is cake batter ice cream, whipped cream, sprinkles, brownie pieces and it's even topped with a candle. This place has been on my list for quite a while, but i'm not often in Lockport, so I kept putting it off, until I saw on FB that they had Butterbeer ice cream. That and a good friend coming back into town who is also nerdy, and Harry Potter loving was all it took to get me out here, and after giving it a try I am sure i'll be back soon! I didn't spend too much time looking at the menu as I knew even before I got there I just had to try the Butterbeer, but I did take enough time to notice a wide variety of flavor options, which creative descriptions. They also had shakes, and sundaes and other ice cream favorites. The ice cream was creamy and smooth and delicious. I'm not quite sure I would have identified it as Butterbeer not knowing, but the color and name and yummy taste mean I would get it again anyways. We came on a Saturday and there was a cute farmers market going on outside the shop with food, crafts, cloths, and games for the family to play. Not sure if this happens all the time but I do know it was a cute little area and even without all that it is worth it to take the drive to Lockport, walk around the locks and check out the cute surrounding area! Besides the creamy homemade ice cream and the quaint old town feel of the area, I think one of the real draws is the unique flavors they come up with. It's in the perfect spot on the canal so you can take a nice walk while you enjoy a cone or they have cute seating areas if you prefer to sit. Someone mentioned the weekly mystery box at work, so I hopped on social media to see what it was all about. Basically each week they offer two kinds of mystery box; the family box or the couples box. It's been a week and my boyfriend and I are still picking through the goodies. The icream sandwiches are huge. I had cornflake and salted caramel ice cream cookie to start. I loved the ice cream but the cookie was too sweet and a bit hard even after I let it sit. The peanutbutter cookie sandwich with chocolate ice cream is to die for!!
