I come here with deep guilt and shame because it is unfathomable to me how I have still not written about my every day go to place off the bustling Coney Island Avenue. A true institution in Little Pakistan, Lahori Chilli is an iconic restaurant nestled in the very busy row of neighborhood staples off of Foster Ave. This is a no-frills place serving up every day Pakistani cuisine in a Homey setting. There are booths for your comfort or an adjacent dining hall if you're here with family. They have some hot items almost every day that you can choose from, visible through the greasy glass of the display case. The sweets here are very very good, I particularly enjoy their falooda. Recently also sampled their gulab jamun, and they were to die for. Another dish they are super well known for is their battered masala fish fillet. This is something you have to dine in for to truly appreciate. It comes piping hot, crispy, and with just the perfect amount of masala dusting on top. A true culinary gem if you ask me. It has no bones and the crispy batter is the lightly crunchy without being super oily or greasy like a lot of other fried fish. The fish inside is moist, has no smell and is flaky. It is absolute perfection. Other things I absolutely love on their menu are their chicken seekh kababs and their kofta curry. Those two are usually my go to when I'm ordering food to go or delivery. I do want to give some feedback on a few things though. First of all, it's a little annoying that all the meat dishes are chicken only like I would like to see beef or lamb chapli kabab and seekh kabab. Why is the keema aloo chicken only? I wanna see lamb keema and beef keema on the menu. I also have noticed with some of the items that are in the buffet, they can have that smell sometimes that tells you that the food has been sitting out and not kept at the recommended temperature. A lot of food I order from the glass case goes bad the next day. I need the owner to implement better food safety. We also need more cleanliness around the dining area and spruce up the entrance a bit so people who are not local and privvy to desi food can have a clean and quality hole in the wall dining experience. Either way this restaurant is a place that I continue to frequent year after year. Thank you for feeding and nourishing this community.

First time ordering from them. Delivery took around 40mins. This place serves huge portions of deliciously spiced food! Ordered a chicken biryani, halwa puri, garlic naan, 4 chicken shish kebab and 2 samosas. I didn't expect that much food but it was definitely enough to feed 3-4 people. Everything was really good except for the samosas. They were very plain and lacked taste. We got a strawberry jam-like sauce (not sure if it was for the sweets that came with the halwa puri), but it went really well with the chicken shish kebab.

Reading a few reviews I was slightly skeptical/ hesitant to order. I must say I was pleasantly surprised, I placed an order on Uber Eats . The serving was a lot lol I couldn't finish it in one sitting. The Garlic Naan was so good and filling, the Butter Chicken was okay, wish it were spicier as requested. All in all , not bad!

Samosa chaat shouldn't look like or have the consistency of pad thai. Why is it so soupy?! Who makes it this way?! Never again.

Ask the Community - Lahori Chilli Restaurant & Sweets

Why is Ria's Indian Restaurant and Lahori Chilli both located at the same exact address? Are they the same restaurant? If yes, why are the prices so different between the two?

Only a guess but their food is Pakistani. Some people will order Indian food but not Pakistani food because they are not familiar and don't really know the difference.

The star of the show were the sides though - the mac and cheese had a bit of spice to it and was slightly tomato based, and the mashed potato salad I LITERALLY wrote home about and told my mom and my aunt immediately, some of the best I've ever had. From the entrance, we joined the line to place our order. Menus posted on the wall. Music playing. Bar area, self-serve water dispenser, utensils/napkins, to-go containers (which we did need) are in this area. One of two dining areas is in the same room. Longer tables, some communal, are in the next room, where we sat. Temp that day was in the 90s, was ok indoors but still could use ceiling fan/s like in the first room. Restrooms available. Meats are priced by 1/2 lb. Carved and weighed at the front counter. Ordered everything else and paid there too. Most of the food was prepped as we ordered so able to take a whole tray already. So be ready for a bit of wait on the line but not in getting the food. Got a number and someone brought our jerk rib tips, which were made-to-order. Our favorite was the brisket - very tender with some fatty parts. Pulled pork was slightly sweet, was ok. I wasn't into the Jerk rib tips' flavor by itself, but was better with ranch dressing it came with. Meats were not so salty which was great. Can add the bbq sauces if wanted. Fritos pie was just a small bag of chips with toppings and was overall a bit salty for me. At least we got to taste their chili. For sides: Large size is not that large but ok for sharing if getting a few sides. We liked the vinegary mashed potato salad and mac and cheese. My family found the collard greens bitter but I liked them. Honey cornbread $7/square was sweet on the top. Want to try other things on the menu so for next time. Take Bus 61 at Boerum Pl/Joralemon St. to Van Brundt St/Beard St stop (bus is accessible from a few subway lines).

The pizza was mediocre. For our entrees I had the shrimp avocado salad and my husband got the gosht burger. Our entrees were really tasty. I asked for it to be removed because my daughter didn't really play there and didn't have socks so our waitress removed it. It's not a big playground area and how long can kids really ply there if they're there for the restaurant? They charge $10 on weekday and $15 on weekends.
