Radhuni is a neighborhood staple serving Bangladeshi food to the diaspora for over a decade now. In my household, they are highly frequented due to "homecooked" nature of their dishes. They have staple every day dishes, and also offer rotating ones that add to their variety. We like the homecooked feel of their food. On busy days where we can't make time to cook, they come in clutch. Some special food recommendations: Lollipop chicken- a fried drumstick or wing, made to resemble a lollipop. It's coated in seasonings, and served with their version of boom boom sauce. Crowd favorite. Chicken biryani- flavored rice with chicken. Can eat this by itself. Beef teheri- flavored rice with beef. Chicken Roast- not roast chicken lol. In our cuisine, this is a smothered chicken in a creamy, oniony based sauce with spices. Not to be missed. Reshmi kebab- Chicken pieces, marinated in spices and smoked to perfection. Try this! it's a different take from the tandoori style you're always getting ;) I'd recommend fish curries with rice, as that's our specialty. However, they are bone in, and so it may not be everyone's cup of tea. Get the shrimp curry if it's available. The other items, such as beef curries, mixed vegetables, daal (lentils) are pretty standard. For a quick but delicious snack, get a vegetable or chicken samosa with chai. Can't be beat! They have other appetizer foods too- chicken rolls, and pakoras. Spice level tends to be medium. I've not found them to be very spicy hot, which works out for those of us who can't handle that. We always get take out from them. They package the food well (enough) so the oil does not leak. There is always a lot of oil on the top of the foods, but this is the case at every bengali/indian/pakistani restaurant anyways. We just dump it out when we get home. There are tables and indoor seating. However, we opt to bring it home. I do wish the ambiance was nicer to sit and eat, but it's not a big deal. During Ramadan and other holidays, they have specialty items which is another time to try them out. read more

Have driven past this little Bangladeshi area in McDonald ave. for years but, never a parking spot. Staff very warm and inviting, food (which you may not be used too, I wasn't) is all on display out in the open on tables. Large assortment to stay or go of grilled meats, fried treats, and sticky sweets. When I return, I'll sit down instead of getting snacks for the ride. I ordered through their website as a carryout order. I went in to redeem my order at the counter and informed the cashier I was there to pick up my order, but he didn't say anything, so I assumed he had gone to get my order. I waited more than 10 minutes before I saw him finally go grab an order, when I asked him if it was mine, he said no. When I enquired about my order, he seemed annoyed and said he didn't see my order in his system and asked me to pay in cash. I explained to him that I ordered through their website and that I had already paid including the Convenience Fee of $1.75; a tip of $1.50 and Tax of $1.33 and I showed him the receipt. He kept arguing with me and trying to make me pay for the food again without even trying to check my order from his side or offer any other solution. He then went to the back and got the owner, I explained the situation again and showed him my receipt and order information, but the owner was worse than the cashier; bad-mannered and rude, he started yelling and screaming at me and trying to make me pay for the order again in cash. I understand that not everyone is tech savvy and there are always issues with computers and services, but their behavior was completely horrible and unacceptable. I was recommended to this place by a co-worker and as a first-time customer, I cannot believe how I was treated for a $19.58 order, people like this don't deserve to be in business. In the end I never got my order, and I had to reach out to the service they use in their website to get a refund. read more

We ordered food from Radhuni, on Sunday for a family gathering, after eating the beef everyone got sick. I think they need a visit from the department of health for a checkup. There was so much grease on the beef and it was as really spicy. Then there was the chicken roast which was a bit questionable from the get go and it turned out totally be deadly. My biggest fear is for my kids who also consume the food and had been sent home from school with stomach pain. read more

Everything I tried was on point and I sampled a whole ton of things because I want to buy the whole store every time I go to a Bengali restaurant just to see how good it is. So the kababs are really good and very cheap. I tried the chicken tikka kabab ($1.25) and some other chicken kabab that was $1 and they were both very flavorful and well marinated. Definitely large portions for the price. I also tried the moglai parata which had ground chicken and eggs inside and it was delicious! Somosas were also really good. Chicken patties, like everything else, were really really good. I liked the filing. My only slight complaint is that when the patties were heated, it doesn't remain flaky because it was heated in a microwave and not an oven. For the main course, I ordered a beef biryani which was perfect. I also ordered the goat curry with naan and it was also very good; a little on the spicy side but just the right amount though. As for dining in, don't do it! The restaurant is filled with Bengali men and you'll definitely be stared at if you're a female entering this establishment. Order food to go because this isn't a place you'll feel comfortable eating in if you're anything but a Bengali male. Overall great Bengali food for cheap! Can't wait to come back. read more

I have bengali friends so i decided to try bengali food out... it was pretty bad. The chicken briyani had a human hair in it and there were bitter seeds in it. The curry fish was bad as well as the curry chicken What i really don't like is that the food when served is not already hot, they microwave it. The worst part is they microwave it in plastic and styrofoam plates... that really is not good for your health. I think the cashier overcharged me as well but who cares, I won't go to this place ever again read more

They brought me the food cold!! Then they heated it up after I asked them. Honestly it tasted AWFUL. It was too spicy and I like spicy. It wasn't a good spicy it was just spicy. And the meat tasted old. I didn't eat it. I was scared it would make me sick. And this place is LOUD. The noise level is very annoying. And it is completely men. Delicious! Walking into to Radhuni you definitely leave Brooklyn and enter Bangladesh. Don't let the bright green walls throw you off, the food is legit. Our favorites were the curried goat and tandoori chicken. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the menu is pretty much just for show. You can basically only order what's in the buffet line, but the bread and rice are made fresh. We asked for recommendations and weren't steered wrong. Atmosphere is not for the faint of heart. It's loud and definitely a gathering place for Bengali men in the neighborhood, but in my opinion that adds to the charm. Probably the best option for Bangladeshi food in Kensington. It's new, clean and has a decent amount of options. The staff are nice if sometimes passive. Just be aware that it's a very local-friendly joint often completely devoid of women. And definitely order the mashed dried shrimp ("chingri shutki bhorta"). read more

I have been here 3 nights in a role to have my meal. Every time I stepped in I ordered the same dishes last 3 nights a role. First night they charged 10bucks, last nite they charged 11 bucks n just now tonite they charged me 13bucks. When I asked them why they charging me different prices they were bluffing. None of them speak English except the guy who took my ordered with heavy accent in English who might be a manager. The employees over there loud n very arrogant n no respect for guests. None of them went to school. I don't understand how they came in this country n doesn't know how to behave with the guest. I told them after the incident it will be my last nite. Horrible byrani stay away it was stale not fresh at all we asked for a boil egg which he didnt give and didnt give us raw pepper. Luuuuuv this place! Been there three times already. Have been ordering tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala and the beef biriyani. Comes with a side salad with green chili peppers (bite into them and they set your mouths on fire). Their garlic naan is a must-have. Fresh out of the oven, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with a generous amount of crushed garlic on top. Best naan I've had in a while and I've had lots of naans. Their rashmalais seemed to have changed recipe between November and now. It had more spices back then and was better. The doi (yogurt) is amazing. Best yogurt I've tried. Ordered one to go but decided to just try a spoonful with hubby. Next thing I know it was gone. Bought two more to go. Each time we went we were the only two non-South Asians there but I guess that proves it's authentic. Service is fast and accepts credit card over $10. read more
