This is actually my second time coming, I got busy & forgot to review the first time. This time I decided to bring my friend here to kinda celebrate my birthday. She wanted to try some Bangladeshi food, so I thought of this place because first time I came I loved their Moghlai porota. So we ordered moghlai porota, I also wanted her to try the Baby goat Kacchi biriany ! The Moghlai porota was yummy but biriany was just ok. I already tried lots of Kacchi biriany at lots of Bangladeshi restaurants & so far this is the highest I had ever pay! Even the Khalil biriany was cheaper than here! So when I ordered I expected something amazing, but I was highly disappointed! Kinda sad actually! I will come back just for the Moghlai Porota but other food I am not so sure anymore! Service was great, place looks clean, restroom was also clean . Also I wanna add that I really loved the interior of the restaurant, it takes me back home some how!

Rice semolina (not on the menu) but made for frequent customers. It's sweet, sticky and tasty.

I walked in here out of curiosity and was instantly treated like family. I thought it was an Indian restaurant and began speaking with Mohamed (possibly the manager or owner) about my love for Indian food. He politely and with humor said "this isn't Indian, this is Bangladeshi" then proceeded to explain the difference in the spices used. As I looked at the menu with a different set of eyes (because I was hoping for indian), I couldn't decide what to order. Mohamed encouraged me to have a seat and try a sweet treat on the house, as I determined what I wanted. He gave me something called semolina rice. It was sweet, sticky and delicious. He said only regular customers gets this but I'm now an honorary one. How "sweet" was that?! I finally decided on the veggie samosa, and goat curry meal which came with rice and veggies. Mohamed even added an additional side that wasn't on the menu. This one was savory. I haven't tried it yet but just off the service, I'd definitely be back. Before leaving he gave me another sweet treat. Lol. Ambiance, small and casual. Well lit. This is a place for a very casual meal. No frills and fancy decor but you will feel welcomed.

I wanted to share with you my recent dining experience at a cute little restaurant that offers authentic flavors of Bangladesh. This hidden gem not only serves delicious and wide range of pitha, mishti/sweets that are not too sweet, but also caters for large groups exceptionally. During our visit, we tried kichuri (lentil rice) with fried fish and eggplants, sweets, and beef curry. Separately, we catered for a party. The star of the show was the Sagorana platter which was a delightful journey for the taste buds! The platter included rice, whole chicken roast, shrimp, kebab, and red snapper - each dish bursting with authentic flavors. I highly recommend this restaurant for your next get together. Let yourself be transported across the world with their diverse flavor palette. Bon appétit!

Amazing little bangladeshi restaurant, their mughlai paratha is THE BEST in the city and all of their menu items are amazing and flavorful and authentic. I have yet to try a dish i haven't liked yet. Reminds me of home cooked Bengali meals. Service is also very welcoming!

I've been sick all day from their food (samosa). They should be re inspected by the DOH.

They have staple every day dishes, and also offer rotating ones that add to their variety. We like the homecooked feel of their food. On busy days where we can't make time to cook, they come in clutch. Some special food recommendations: Lollipop chicken- a fried drumstick or wing, made to resemble a lollipop. It's coated in seasonings, and served with their version of boom boom sauce. Crowd favorite. Chicken biryani- flavored rice with chicken. Can eat this by itself. Beef teheri- flavored rice with beef. Chicken Roast- not roast chicken lol. In our cuisine, this is a smothered chicken in a creamy, oniony based sauce with spices. Not to be missed. Reshmi kebab- Chicken pieces, marinated in spices and smoked to perfection. Try this! it's a different take from the tandoori style you're always getting ;) I'd recommend fish curries with rice, as that's our specialty. However, they are bone in, and so it may not be everyone's cup of tea. Get the shrimp curry if it's available. The other items, such as beef curries, mixed vegetables, daal (lentils) are pretty standard. For a quick but delicious snack, get a vegetable or chicken samosa with chai. Can't be beat! They have other appetizer foods too- chicken rolls, and pakoras. Spice level tends to be medium. I've not found them to be very spicy hot, which works out for those of us who can't handle that. We always get take out from them. They package the food well (enough) so the oil does not leak. There is always a lot of oil on the top of the foods, but this is the case at every bengali/indian/pakistani restaurant anyways. We just dump it out when we get home. There are tables and indoor seating. However, we opt to bring it home. I do wish the ambiance was nicer to sit and eat, but it's not a big deal. During Ramadan and other holidays, they have specialty items which is another time to try them out.

First, the owners are some of the kindest, most thoughtful hosts you could hope to meet. You can feel how much they care about their community the moment you walk in. They've also made real efforts to make the space accessible for different bodies, which is something that far too few restaurants consider. That level of intention and hospitality truly stands out. And then there's the food -- absolutely phenomenal. Every dish feels intentional, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Standouts for me: Shrimp Toast - the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp, rich, and balanced. Duck - deeply flavorful and cooked to perfection. Ribs - tender, savory, and incredibly satisfying. Char Siu - sweet, smoky, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Eggplant - unbelievably delicious and a must-order. Monkey King is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Even the bathroom was impressively nice, which always says a lot about a restaurant's attention to detail. The food and drinks were on point. The crab fried rice, fried shrimp toast, rib lamb were all flavorful and well-prepared. One standout for me was the spring rolls--they were so good, crispy and packed with flavor. The drinks were also great, making the overall dining experience even better. Between the great food, nice atmosphere, and convenient location, it's definitely a place I'd go back to again. Alexa greeted us and took our order she's amazing! If you're planning a date night or a nice dinner out, Monkey King is a solid choice.
