Stopped by here with a couple friends for a late lunch. The place was casual with pretty lighting and pink napkins. Normally, I always get Mango Lassi, but decided to try the Sweet Lassi. This was creamy and thick, with mild, slightly sweet taste. For my entree, I ordered the Salmon and Shrimp Korma. I really enjoyed this, especially since Salmon Korma is rare. The Salmon was wonderfully tender, while the Shrimp was succulent and juicy. The Korma sauce was full bodied and well seasoned. We shared the Garlic Naan and Naan with coconut, almond, as well as cashews. Both were served warm, soft with great flavor. Service was good. Our waiter was attentive and everything came out in a timely manner. The prices were quite reasonable as well. read more

Im sorry but this is the worst Indian food that Ive ever had in my life. And its not easy to say this but it really was that bad and I am very disappointed. The ratings for here are superb so I can only imagine that it was a bad batch. It was also delivery so I can speak on the service or ambiance only the food. Chana saag: 2/5 the best thing I had out of all my items but it was still very blans Chicken Biryani: 0/5 it was really terrible, watery and mushy and no flavor almost like they added water to day old biryani and warmed it up to the point of over cooking amd washing away all the flavor. Tikka masala: 1/5 no flavor at all, no salt nothing. Honestly just an awful experience in general. read more

Did a takeout order from here last night ordering through Yelp for the first time, cool! Order was ready in about 15 minutes. Food came out hot and tasty. I would say of all the Indian places I've tried this place ranks 3rd. (Tried maybe 7?) Super affordable when you get the dinner special, wish the chicken tikka masala I ordered was more creamy instead of super tomatoey, but plenty of chicken chunks were embedded in the sauce. The Naan was solid, nothing crazy special though. Rice was delicious and the little sauces that came with it were good too. Didn't love the gobi manchurian. Would def return if craving Indian food in the area as it's in an incredibly convenient location and the food was good enough. read more

Great place, clean, great service and great food! We may have been the only two guests in the restaurant dining in at the time but I still have to point out how attentive our waiter was. He didn't make a lot of conversation or anything, but he seemed like he cared about our experience and explained the menu options to us to make sure we were comfortable with what we ordered. We walked in during lunchtime on a Sunday. This place is so clean, not a dirty footprint on their floors or even a fingerprint on the tables. The dishes and silverware were spotless. The entire restaurant was fresh smelling (I am sensitive to smells sometimes and I can sense a dirty establishment with only one whiff of air!). This place actually earned their 'A' grade unlike some other places we won't get into right now... The food was clean and fresh, and marinated to perfection without tasting like it's been sitting out all day waiting for customers-- instead, it tasted like we were waiting on the food to be cooked. Now that I think of it, they must be quite talented because we weren't waiting a long time for our main dish. They served us our vegetable samosas first and as soon as we were done, our goat curry and chicken tikka masala came out. The plating was quite nice-- it was beautiful food that was also tasty! The sauces were thick and hearty but not too thick. It certainly was not watered down like many places in the area that try to stretch their portions out to last the day. They give you a good amount of meat/protein of choice in the sauce, too. It was a nice ambiance with subtle music playing in the background to match the food experience. This is quality Indian food with a pretty diverse array of menu options. There is a great dinner menu for two for around $30. The prices are so affordable and we definitely got our money's worth. The tables were nicely set up, the room was lit more dimly and the overall feel was more romantic in the evening. What we ordered: Mango Lassie; 2 person special with Chicken Soup, Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Saag (for ~$31!) The food was delicious!! They started us with these interesting chip appetizers with an assortment of sauces and they were really good. Not too filling but they had yummy flavor. They brought out the chicken soup first and it was warm and comforting. I had the chicken tikka masala and it was also delicious, especially with the crispy garlic naan. At the end, they gave us a sweet rice dessert for free! Service was also great, our server made sure to keep our glasses filled and everyone on the staff was kind and welcoming. Honestly feel so lucky to have this place in the neighborhood. The food is seriously delicious, super quick (like 10-15 min if you pick up), and the garlic naan and buttery paratha are addicting as hell. My favorite is the malai kofta, the Manchurian cauliflower, saag paneer, and so many other things I'm too lazy to list cuz I'm hungry now. For $30 for 2 people, they do an appetizer (2 samosas), 2 entrees (we did chicken tikka masala and saag panir), garlic naan, and dessert (rice pudding). The chicken tikka masala is excellent and soooo flavorful, and the chicken is tender and juicy. I also highly recommend the samosas as they are very well seasoned. I ordered the shrimp curry lunch box. They gave me three shrimp and the rice had clumps of it stuck together. Do not give me old rice or new rice mixed with old rice. I am not on a diet and I am not a child. Gove at least five or six shrimps for $14.10. I think the average child can eat more than three shrimp. In fact I ordered it twice this week and have been very satisfied. I picked the special which comes with an appetizer, naan, and an entree. The appetizers were sometimes soso. The skewers were sometimes dry. But the samosa was the best samosa ive ever had! And when it came to the entree, to be honest I had no idea what I was ordering. I just picked two random ones both times and everything was good! One of the best customer services I have experienced. Food was on point and delicious. Very accommodating. We were late for dinner and got there around 10PM but still received an authentic and delicious meal. My friend I got Channa Saag and Paneer Makhani with Tandoori Roti. All dishes come with a side of rice. Portions were decent sized, and we could have probably had a 3rd person eat comfortably as well. I don't know why, but I don't usually go out for Indian.* I suppose it's because when I crave naan and spice-heavy sauces to dip it in, I'm usually sitting on my couch in sweat pants where I can ugly cry into my couch about how desperately depressed I am that I have made nothing of my life. Which is uncomfortable to do at restaurants, because sometimes they'll kick you out if you're sobbing too loud. What I'm trying to say is that I've only gotten Kitchen Grill delivered, and I have yet to set foot in the restaurant. That said, as a delivery option, Kitchen Grill is better than most. They have a solid track record of almost always beating the delivery window, my food always arrives hot, and they are reasonably consistent in terms of flavor. Sometimes it's a bit hotter (or milder) than the last time, sometimes it's a bit better (or worse), but it's always pretty good. The naan is fluffy (go garlic or onion, worth the $1 to me). The kachori is tasty. The meat samosas shouldn't be listed under the vegetarian appetizers, and they are OK. The korma is rich. The Manchurian Cauliflower ranges from delicious to undercooked and ketchupy (that's a word). The shrimp curry is not my favorite. The saag paneer is solid. And the chicken tikka masala is chicken tikka masala (and I still don't know what the difference between it and the chicken makhni is; theoretically butter, but they taste identical and I challenge you to try and tell the difference). I ordered the "Special Deal" which consist of an appetizer, entree, and choice of naan. I had chicken tikka Marsala, basmati rice, and cauliflower Manchurian (first time trying). I loved the flavor in everything! Wasn't too sweet as chicken Marsala can be at times. It brought enough food for me to have for tomorrow as well which is a steal for $16!! Bang for your buck and actually tastes great! I honestly started to think there was no good Indian food in Brooklyn after trying all of the main mentioned cliché places but this one changed my mind. Just when I had almost given up thankfully I found this place and their amazing deals. I end up paying less and getting a reliably good quality of food, each time, compared with other local competitors. Not necessarily the best Indian food I've tried in my life. But definitely quite tasty and well worth the price and beats out any overpriced nasty competition nearby my go to Indian spot when I'm home in BK. Waiting for my order to come, will try to remember to edit and add pics! I've tried the chicken tikka, garlic naan and vegetable samosas in the past on the special, and all were exactly what I was looking for. Naan was a bit bland but a fair trade off when it's included for free in a tasty, lit deal. Ordered in on a Saturday night, the food came quickly and hand delivered by the restaurant's owner, Kamal. There are a lot of Indian delivery options in Crown Heights, but after my usual place failed to fill an order last week I was looking to shake up my usual naan/app/entree order by getting it from a brand new spot. The "special deal" for delivery or pickup is $14.95. It comes with condiments including yogurt and chutney. Samosas, malai kofta, and keema naan (+1 extra). Samosas were big and a little salty on the outside (yum!). The malai kofta was flavorful and smelled so good my roomates, who have never even eaten Indian food, were crowding around to see what it was and mark it on our take out menu for next time. I appreciated having all the condiments to eat the naan with. Overall a very pleasant experience, I'll definitely be ordering again. Entrees are 40% off during lunch hours in house so I may even go all the way to the restaurant to eat sometime. read more

I have been getting the paneer tikka masala more often now, and I love it too. The flavor is very similar to that of the chicken tikka masala. One thing that's interesting is that the paneer is almost sliced in there instead of whole, which is what is usually seen. The paneer, itself, is a little spongey, but I think cutting it smaller helps alleviate that issue. read more

I found this place by accident and I'm soooo glad that I did! When you first walk in you'll notice it's setup is very nice for a small restaurant. If you're wanting to order to-go then just walk straight back to the cashier. Don't be surprised if no one is there, upon my visit... the cashier was also taking phone orders, waiting tables, cleaning tables and bringing out the food. To say the least, the young man was hustling. However I didn't have to wait long for my food. I chose the samosas as my appetizer, obviously, and chana saag for my entree. The samosas were a little dry inside, but they came with four different sauces which completely mitigated the dryness. I have no complaints about the chana saag as it was very tasty and even the basmati rice had a nice flavor to it. The best part of the meal was definitely the naan. It was cooked just perfectly and was puffy without just being an air bubble. I am going to be completely honest and say that I have never really ordered Indian food before. I've had some dishes here and there, but never really ordered on my own. I have always wanted to try, but it's a bit intimidating trying a new cuisine and spending a lot of money on it, if you don't end up liking it. I received Kitchen Grill's menu at my apartment and saw the $20 special and decided this was the perfect opportunity. I am so glad I did. For my appetizer, I had the chicken soup, and for my entree I had the chicken tikka masala. I also added an order of the chicken tikka appetizer. I'd say the delivery took about 40 minutes, and everything was piping hot. It was also raining outside, yet nothing was cold. I was impressed on that alone (they have their own delivery drivers, not GrubHubs). I don't have the best frame of reference, but the food was so flavorful and delicious. The chicken soup was everything I needed and more (I had been feeling a bit under the weather). The chicken tikka masala was creamy and had a lot of chicken. I paid the extra $1 for the garlic naan and it was fluffy, but also had great char. Everything was spiced so well and I had to actively stop myself from eating because I was so full, yet wanted more. The proportions were also quite big, and I have another full meal from my one order. For the pricing, quality and proportions of food, this place is a must try.
