Vada pav - definitely the best thing I had. The bread was fluffy, the vada was full of delicious spices and hearty potatoes, and there was nice heat from the dry chutney and roasted chili pepper. Pani puri - not bad, but not remarkable either. I think I could've used a bit more heat. Palak burrata - kind of disappointing. Paying homage to the Italian heritage of the neighborhood is a cute idea, but I think burrata is the wrong cheese for the dish. The gravy was super buttery already, and the cream from the burrata made that go overboard. I also caught an unpleasant bitter note, likely from burned garlic stacking with fenugreek. It's also super overpriced at $26. On the plus side, the roti was pretty much perfect. The bill came to $66 with tax and tip, which is really expensive. I'd maybe go again for the snacks, but the mains were sort of a miss for me.

Amazing food! And beautiful, beautiful ambiance with a cute little mini store on the side with great Indian food finds. Staff was also friendly. Vada pav - Great flavors, huge patty and appreciated it wasn't super deep fried. Bread was soft and fluffy Chili cheese toast - can never go wrong with this, buttery and fluffy Bombay toastie - star of the show, a must try! Fantastic flavors

While homely items like chili cheese toast are on the menu, the vibe at this beautiful new Cobble Hill eatery is more Bandra West than Bombay meri jaan. Sipping on natty wines in the lush backyard cafe, you can taste specialties from the city of dreams the way they're enjoyed in the cafés of Kala Ghoda. The best items were the Bombay sandwich and the dahi puri. Paneer bhurji is not a traditional ingredient in Bombay sandwiches, but it really made this sandwich shine. The dahi puri was plated in little tartlettes rather than traditional puris, which was a fun touch. I only take issue with the Vada pav, which had good flavor but had not a single bit of crisp to it. I have noted this issue with a number of restaurants serving this in the states, as they probably don't find it worthwhile to deep fry the vadas freshly as they're ordered.

From the folks behind Taza Mkt in Industry City is the newly opened Tera Mera, an Indian snack bar in Cobble Hill. They have a selection of Indian treats on the wall ranging from some cooking items and spices to to pickles/achaar to chutneys and other snacks both from India as well as Indian American goods. They're currently open from 12:00 to 6:00 but they're going to be adding more options for dinner soon so expect them to be open later soon enough. They have a comfortable front along with a nice backyard which is similar to the coffee house/bar Saturn Road next door. Along with some food, they have coffee and tea with some specialty drinks such as a Gulab Jamun Shaken Espresso along with a small selection of alcohol which will grow as they add more things with there being currently Kingfisher and some wines. The staff here is friendly. For food, I was here earlier and I got a Classic Bombay Toastie for $15 + tax listed as a toasted sandwich with beets, vegetables, and cheese. The sandwich was cut into four pieces and each of them was generally filled with a potato masala, beets, tomato, some other veggies, and some type of spicy chutney with the top of the toast having some sev as well as some pomegranate seeds. It was very tasty and worked as a light lunch though I think also two people could easily split this as an appetizer once their dinner options roll in. I'd go back here to try more things and I hope they do well. Rating is kept at this score for now for business.

Today was my first time at Tera Mera but I can confidently say I'll be back a million times ....the most authentic and home made flavors in every dish.. I can't get begin to descrive how every bite brought back memories of Bombay. The decor is classy and elegant, staff is super friendly and the chef... sorry "cook" Shalini!!! She was the finishing touch on an outstanding experience ... her warmth and banter made it such a personal and bonding with her over being Bombayites was special. Can't wait to also visit when it's warmer to enjoy the beautiful outdoor setup. My go to place for Indian food in the neighborhood. 10 stars all the way !!

Really cute outdoor seating and good food! I will say, it is pretty pricey for what you get. I got the paneer burji sandwich and it was good but nothing out of the world. Nice ambiance though and worth checking out once!

The local neighbors recommended Tera Mera to us and we walked in around noon. We were warmly greeted by Shalini and had a wonderful conversation on her journey. The place and its design speaks to you while you interact with the family pictures of Shalini's family adorning the walls. We were impressed by the masala and cardamom chai (highly recommend). The combination of the chai with a dunkable Parle-G cookie took me back in time when I was in India. We ordered Masala Omelette Roti, Classic Bombay Toastie, and Daily Kichidi. The Bombay Toasties were a delight to watch and even more delicious to bite into. The Masala Omelette Roti was a love at first bite with the combination of green and red chutney tickling my taste buds asking for more. We took the Khichdi to go because it was the coldest day of January and wanted to enjoy its savory flavors at dinner, and it didn't disappoint at all. I am writing this review while enjoying the raita Shalini packed with the Khichdi. We will be back to check out the dining menu next time!

Super friendly and sweet staff, they always try to get us in even when we don't have a reservation but its definitely gotten harder to walk in because its so popular. The tomato malai toast they have on the summer menu is one of my favorite toasts ever. Love the decor inside and on the patio. I've also tried the dahi puri, paneer 65, and palak paneer with burrata and all were packed with flavor and tasted excellent.

I was excited to try this spot and although my experience started off rocky, it quickly turned into one of the best dining experiences I've had in New York. When I first sat down, I felt overlooked as a solo diner and was on my way storming out but before I walked out, I spoke with the owner. She couldn't have been kinder. She apologized sincerely, made sure I felt welcome, and insisted dinner would be on the house. That small gesture, paired with her warmth, completely turned things around. The food itself was incredible.. so flavorful, fresh, and exactly what I'd been craving. But more than that, the hospitality reminded me of true Indian warmth and care. The owner didn't have to go out of her way for one customer on a busy Friday night, but she did, and it left a lasting impression. I walked away not only full and happy but also feeling like I'd found a place I want to return to again and again. Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic Indian food and values genuine hospitality.

    Pani puri

I walked by and was attracted to the design and storefront. Came by a few weeks later, the staff and owner were super welcoming and you cant tell from the front but there's a large beautiful backyard. I got the hibiscus tea (really tasty and refreshing and helps with the spiciness), pani puri (delicious and fun) and veggie momos which you could tell are fully homemade. Excited to come back and try other things including perhaps the yard.

Fantastic food, wine, service.... And the ambiance of the backyard is totally magical. I read past reviews and I'm surprised about the comments on the service. They could not have been friendlier at dinner tonight. Highly recommend!

Phenomenal for take out Indian food! Also the portion sizes were huge - my friend and I shared a plate and a side and we were stuffed by the end. I will be back to try other menu options when I visit industry city again!

I have not been disappointed once after eating more than 5 times. Below are items that I order regularly: 1. Chicken Biryani 2. Kosha Mangsho (Goat Curry) 3. Chilli Chicken - This is probably the best I have ever eaten! However I highly recommend eating this at the restaurant coz Togo will get soggy and not as much fun! There are couple of things which I am not a fan of: 1. They do not have a phone number on their website 2. Their Togo menu is different than their sit in menu. However, if you go there and ask them for items that are in their sit-in menu, they have never said no

The decor and vibe of this place is so vibrant and beautiful, it instantly puts you in a good mood. I came here for a solo dinner during restaurant week which was a pretty good deal. Most of the patrons seem like they were neighborhood locals which I love to see. I would say based on the flavors and the people dining here that this restaurant is more of a gentrified desi place than authentic. I found the flavors in most of the items I tried lacking. The fuchka prepared tableside is a nice touch, but again the marketing is geared more towards non-desi patrons. The fish fry was delicious and a good portion but more like a good British fish n chips cod filet than a desi fish fry with proper spices. Even the mustard served on the side was awfully bland with no spice whatsoever. While I can still appreciate the flavors, I will always be disappointed when an establishment trades authenticity to serve and coddle palettes that do not appreciate proper desi food. The lamb curry was very very good, and I specifically asked for it to be made spicy. Dining here felt like invading a curated space for non Indians, so I unapologetically ate the curry and rice with my hands to remind myself that yes, this is still our food even if it's muted. To the owners I say - do better and do not shy away from authentic flavors. This is afterall, New York freaking City. We are allowed to show up and showcase our cuisine with full masala, full spice and full heat - just the way God intended it to be.

Since then, we've dined in, and taken out, and the food has been unfailingly delicious. If you can swing it, dining in is always the move. Unlike the aforementioned sushi joint, Dastaan has decorated to make the small space much more colorful, and infinitely more welcoming. It seems to be a family business, judging by the somewhat surly (teenage?) waitress, but she was still there for anything we needed. Plus, you'll get some complimentary papadum with homemade tamarind and green sauce. But either way, the food will be good. The naan is fresh and fluffy, the poori is delightful (this airy goodness is dine-in only, I'd imagine), the lasuni gobi starter is one of my favorite things, and the curries are all deeply rich and flavorful. We've had korma, bhuna, and saag, with seafood or chicken or paneer or lamb. We've of course had chicken tikka masala and butter chicken (I'd prefer dark meat in the latter for taste and juiciness, but I imagine I'm in the minority). All of it has been super, super tasty. One of my kids is coming around to the fact that Indian food can be amazing, the other will only eat rice and mango lassi. But Dastaan gives me hope that some day they'll crave it like I do. We're going to keep coming in, and taking out.

It was sweet, but not overly so. And actually creamy (alot of places are watery). A few chicken pieces were tougher to chew. But overall a great dish. I also had my fave: aloo gobi. It was well seasoned, but some peas and cauliflower were slightly undercooked. The garlic naan was the highlight. Perfectly prepared, right amount of seasonings and butter. Prob the best I've had delivered. Cant wait to try other things from the menu.

In short, we ordered chicken tikka masala and garlic naan through Uber Eats but then received the entirely wrong order an hour later. We got the got the issue corrected with Uber Eats, and I called the restaurant to ask that they remake our order for which we would pick it up and pay for it in person. The main woman who was assisting asked me where the incorrect order was as she claimed it is a requirement that we bring the wrong order back to the restaurant to be issued a full refund (?). I said I was not made aware that we had to do this, and furthermore, I know that based on hygienic food practices, they should be trashing any food that goes to the wrong customers... especially since the food has now changed hands multiple times with a delivery driver and being in our home... She insisted that this was not true and that the food could be used to feed their employees, which may be the case, but again, this was not clear and I am skeptical of any restaurant who accepts back food that has been out of their sight for nearly 2 hours at that point. She and the other woman continued arguing with me on this - at one point insisting they will send their delivery driver back with me to pick up the food?! Absolutely not. I was feeling incredibly harassed at this point - and honestly between being hungry and pregnant, I communicated this and that this situation was stressful, but they were continuing to argue with me. The second woman started to dismiss me, even. I asked my husband to come in and take care of the bill because I had to remove myself from that situation, and I could see him through the window continuing to be berated by the main woman for her assumption that we would be trashing the food that was incorrectly delivered. (I never stated this, I did state that I am aware that restaurants have to throw this food out.) He confirmed that she was being just as argumentative with him. This is such a shame because Indian Spice was such a wonderful part of our experience when we last lived in Brooklyn, and based on this, I would never order from here again.
