Rooftops make me feel something.
At night, when you're closer to the clouds, a cup of hot cocoa just tastes more heavenly; especially when you get to share it with friends and you hear screams of soccer fans supporting their favorite team. When the air is chilly enough for a scarf, but still warm enough for you to put your coat next to you. If you're lucky, there might be a heater there with your name written on it, waiting to offer you a warm breeze.
What's remarkable about this place is that you get different sceneries: when you enter you have the restaurant; quite impressive & marble cold. If you're brave you'll venture to the stairs and explore a bit, because why not? The best part of places like these isn't at the entrance. There's even a mini lobby, with a few sofas, where you can catch a breath after taking the stairs. Let's be honest, a quick break won't hurt.
After your break, go a little further, to the more attic like stairs and feel the fresh air welcoming you with each step.
Star-filled nights help me envision the beauty of my environment. Who's out there watching over us? Do they find it silly? That we try to watch them back, on rooftops, with cups of hot cocoa dangling over our heads?
Maybe, I just hope that they, too, know the small joys of feeling small when seated on a rooftop. read more
