Having switched to a new primary doctor, his lab test order are for LabCorp. With my previous doctor, my lab test orders were with the other competitor lab at South Shore. The LabCorp office is located in an open complex area of two buildings between Park St and Park Ave. There's parking spaces allocate for LabCorp but was full so I had to find street parking, which I found a block away. Getting an appointment was easy through the website. You get an email reminder when your appointment draws near. Having had two visits here, the first time I received a text to check in about 20 mins before the appointment, but this latest visit, I did receive a check in text and had to check in at the kiosk inside the office. Even if you have insurance, they run your credit card as a hold for payment and will then send you an adjusted bill for payment in the mail. On my last visit, I had a 10am appointment and I arrived at 9:45 to check in. The clerk in front got my payment card and I signed the acknowledgement. Within 5 minutes, a lab tech called me in for my blood draw. With only on vial, the test was quickly done and I was on my way. Friendly and efficient staff. Very timely and ahead of schedule with their appointments. But more than likely you'll have to park outside and walk to the lab.

Made an apt. They lost it. Husband has been fasting 14 hours. They made him wait another 30 mins. Awful. Not nice. Go somewhere else.

It is a terrible idea.. given that this quest diagnostics is in the heart of Chinatown.. with many middle age folks to elderly seniors who have a barrier with the technology..... sure, you can switch the language to Chinese but... that doesn't work for everyone. Fortunately for me, I asked one of the technicians when she was getting someone when I needed help because I didn't bring the insurance card and it kept asking me to scan the card.. I had the insurance info on the referral sheet though. The technician helped me and said I have to press "no" to consent since I don't have it. Then, I checked in. SHE KNEW THAT.. BUT HOW IS ANYONE ELSE SUPPOSED TO??? Completely not her fault at all! She's probably had to STOP what she's doing and help so much people... Then, I started helping some seniors because THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE MACHINES... OR THEIR VISION IS SO BAD THEY CANNOT READ THE TEXT... PLEASE HIRE A BI-LINGUAL RECEPTIONIST TO HELP THE CHECK IN PROCESS. KEEP THE ELECTRONIC COMPUTER CHECK IN FOR THOSE WHO CAN DO IT. A RECEPTIONIST IS ESSENTIAL.

The receptionist, (Cherish), she stated her name was, was overly rude when I asked about my lab work and was more focused on being on the phone--what looked like TikToks--than doing her job. She was speaking loudly and using vulgar language with what looked like the security the entire time I waited. The only good part of my visit was the person who did my blood work. They were kind, quick, and professional (way better of a experience then the front) I was in and out of the lab itself in seconds once I got to the back because once again there was no one there but me and the rudest staff member I've ever met in the waiting area. It's a shame the front desk experience was so unprofessional because this is my home lab. If I wasn't disabled and stuck with this location, I'd go to Oakland instead to be treated this low. Note this is from the first encounter and it only gets worse over time.

I had heard a few things from folks about the staff at NAHC not being as receptive or inviting to those that aren't Native but chose to disregard such criticism entirely. When I went to my first appointment, I was very impressed with the magnitude of resources, services and information that this facility offers. The staff treated me warmly and with the respect we all hope to receive while at a health institution. The doctor that performed the learning disability evaluation (Dr. Springer, HIGHLY recommend him!) even mentioned that they offer resources to help me obtain citizenship with my tribe (Cherokee Nation) even though I didn't ask him. This is an incredible service for anyone who is sick, homebound, or simply unable to get what they need done at a lab. Charity was professional, very communicative, and incredibly gentle and kind during the draw. She made me feel at ease and took care of everything (she came to my house, drew my blood and even took my bloodwork to FedEx for dropoff) I plan on using her services in the future not only for myself, but also for my kids. Having someone trustworthy and skilled come to the house is such a relief! Highly recommended.

The person who received my call was very pleasant and nice. I was able to schedule an appointment at my home for the blood draw the following morning. The person who I spoke with, Bernadeth, explained the blood draw procedure and told me she would be at my house at 8 AM the following day The following day I received a text from Bernadeth telling me that she was on her way. Bernadeth arrived at my house a little early and messaged me if it was OK to do the blood draw now. I told her it was fine. I opened the door and was met by Bernadeth who was dressed appropriately and in fresh scrubs. Bernadeth presented me with her business card and politely asked if she could come in. She entered my house and asked me if there was a place I felt comfortable for the blood draw. I directed her to my kitchen. Bernadeth was very professional, put on rubber gloves, laid out a sterile pad on my kitchen table, and explained the procedure to me. Bernadeth found a vein she liked and carefully cleansed the area where the needle was to enter my vein. Bernadeth's skill in placement of the needle was fantastic and I didn't even feel the poke nor any pain at all! After the draw, Bernadeth placed the needle in a sharps container, gathered all the equipment she had used for the blood draw, and put them into a plastic bag. Bernadeth explained the procedure for the results, thanked me, and left my house. I would like to pass on that the level of professionalism, communication, attention to detail, and sanitation and safety practices were greater than I expected. The in-home service was so convenient for me and the cost was extremely fair compared to if I had to travel to a clinic for a blood draw. Nevertheless, I highly recommend Lay Lab for any blood draw procedures you may need!

It appears there is 1 single employee here doing everything. I'm writing this 2 hours into my time here and I still haven't seen anyone else that works here. When I was finally called back at 8:50, so 40min after my appointment time, I was told they had no record of the land my doctor ordered. So I had to go back and forth with phone calls and emails to sort that out. That was 30min ago. Labs have been sent and I'm still waiting because the 1 employee is with someone else now. She's clearly doing her best inside of horrible circumstances as well. Also, they send you into the bathroom to give a urine sample, there's a sign that instructs the proper hygiene and way to collect said sample - use wipes first. There are no wipes. This whole awful experience is a testament to the state of our crumbling healthcare system and how companies like quest don't care at all about patients but simply holding monopolies on making money off of us. Why was I not notified in advance that my lab order hadn't been received? Why is there only 1 person working in an entire lab? Why are there not basic hygiene supplies in a medical lab testing facility?
