Stay away from this company. They secretly worked with my public adjuster behind my back and billed my insurance policy an outrageous $5,000 for an asbestos test -- all without my knowledge, authorization, or a signed contract. They even went directly to my insurance adjuster to request payment, bypassing me entirely. To make matters worse, their so-called $5,000 report is only valid for 60 days. If you don't complete the abatement work within that time, they charge you again -- even though all they do is reprint the same report with a new date. No new testing. No new work. Just another charge. When I filed a small claims case against them, they refused to accept the delivery of the court documents by not opening the door for the serving man, dodging service attempts by not answering the door. It was clear they were trying to avoid accountability. I had to find alternative ways to serve them because they simply would not cooperate. Attached is the invoice they charged against my insurance policy. I have also reported them to the California Department of Insurance and is pursuing them through small claims court. Car was parked in a garage with an EV that caught on fire. I called this company, and their answering staff was nice and informed me that a PM would contact me for pricing. This guy, Arron or Erin Robles, called me to coordinate. I guess he's the PM. He told me $1400 for their inspector to go out, $800 for a report. 200 for smoke ash, 600 for VOC/VOCs, and maybe asbestos, and all kinds of other tests they can do. I said, "I am dealing with insurance. Is there a way for you to email me the details?" Without skipping a beat, "NO, THERE IS NO WAY. YOU WILL HAVE TO WRITE IT DOWN." I highly recommend that the management of this company get rid of PMs like this. Found this company on Yelp. Based on recommendations I contacted them through the Yelp app to test the air in our home. Received an initial response asking for my phone number which I provided. Waited several days and messaged back twice, but never received a response. Clearly they weren't interested in my business. Company response suggests they tried to reach me. That's not entirely true. I texted them several times and left a voicemail with my correct phone number. They made no effort to reach me. read more

I was contacted by Richard and we talked about the process for testing asbestos in the air. We agreed on a price and a technician named Chris was dispatched for a time that worked for me. Chris was early which for me = on time. Chris set up the air testing units for 90 min and came back when they were completed. He took his shoes off when entering the house which I also appreciated. The results came back within two days. Tony followed up and told me if I had any questions to not hesitate to call them for clarification. Everyone knows that dealing with Insurance is a tough process. They also know having your house be impacted by a fire, that is not your fault, such that your entire family have to relocate is a tough and stressful process. My insurance hired Code Blue who in turn arranged for Titan to proceed with Lead and Asbestos testing. The engineers that came out was great, and courteous. However, within 2 weeks, I got a letter from titan demanding payment for services or they will send me to collections. I of course forwarded this to my insurance who was minorly delayed in their payment disbursement process. Within another 2 weeks, they sent their collection specialist after me, the insured, although I have followed up many times with my Insurance. I explained this, and they said they do not work with insurance and it was me who contracted with them, which was not true at all. My insurance (along with Code Blue, and the restoration company) arranged them to come out. I would advise against using Titan, and instead using another service provider if you are ever worried about being out of pocket first, or your credit score. Are you as a business really so worried about payment you cannot wait and work with your clients? Titan has 0 empathy for their clients and would go to extreme lengths I have never seen before to get paid as soon as possible. **Edit 4-21-2022 I spoke with Tony from the company and understood a couple things. 1) (Not Verbatim) It seems that this was a scare tactic that the accounting team uses so that people will pay on time, being 15 days. This seems unnecessary as even within the agreement you have allowed them to request payment directly from the insurance carrier. 2) When they threaten to adversely impact your credit rating, and send a "collections specialist" after you, they have not, actually sent you to collections. The so-called "collections specialist" is a title within their company to encourage timely payments. 3) They have been working with my insurance company, who has continued to be slow on payments and yet to pay the bill. Their patience in this matter and professionalism handling the matter after 60 days, somewhat offset their initial impatience and multitude of scare tactics they have used on me personally. While this review remains up, I will revise my initial 1* review to 4*, based on the service and speed Titan provided as well as the professionalism Tony showed when he reached out to me to get my feedback. The 1 star docked is due to their collections process. We are customers, but would be nice to be treated as humans, especially in an insurance loss. read more

These guys seriously couldn't be better. I was told by HVAC guys that I had asbestos around my ductwork and that I needed to replace everything ASAP which would have cost a fortune. I was a bit skeptical so I contacted Tony and they sent Chris over the next day. Chris was awesome - super nice guy and told me that I needed to make sure it was even tested for asbestos before doing any major work. He crawled down into my super tight crawlspace and in less then 24 hours, I got the results - no asbestos in teh ductwork. I purchased a triplex in Alameda that was originally built in 1904. Because we'll be doing an extensive renovation and moving in with an infant, we thought it wise to test for health hazards that could be especially dangerous to our little one. Titan Environmental were very prompt in scheduling an appointment for an inspection of suspected asbestos containing materials (plaster walls and linoleum floors). The inspector arrived on time and was quick in taking samples. Surprisingly, the test results came back next day, and as suspected, we had some positive asbestos containing materials. I spoke with Tony over the phone to review the findings, and in light of our planned remodel and desired use, he recommended we skip further testing (which could determine if the material was less than .1%, which would dictate different handling procedures) and instead focus on the remediation aspect. Chris came over to help collect air samples for us for the test. We have a six month old and were doing a major house rewiring project as mandated by our insurance company in order to continue the policy. I was nervous of the amount of the asbestos that could be released into the air due to this work so I asked them to come over to test the air quality after the work was completed. TES did the asbestos clearance air sampling for us after our asbestos abatement company finished removing the popcorn ceiling texture and linoleum at our 3 bedroom 2 bath house. We used TES instead of the asbestos abatement company's 3rd party environmental lab because TES had better reviews and customer satisfaction. Hygienist Maciel Gonzalez took four samples at different spots in the house with two blank control samples for quality control. They were able to schedule a technician to come out without negatively impacting the timeline for my kitchen remodel. I was referred to titan by a good buddy of mine. I had just purchased a house which had some popcorn ceilings that needed to be tested for asbestos. I had a horrendous experience with Titan and was fortunately referred to another company. I've never written letters before or left reviews as I try to see both sides and realize how tough service companies can be. But Titan made it very easy to inspire me to leave my impression. Although the sales rep was very courteous, his information was misleading, uninformed, and ultimately led to days of wasted time going back and forth. I suspect the sales rep might have been new to the job or not trained as he couldn't answer basic questions and the information he did provide would contradict 180 degrees his previous recommendations as well as his own technicians. I would have been understanding of that as it's a technical business. But everytime he said he would email or send information, he never did. It's frustrating as a customer to have to chase and follow up with phone calls. I rather TItan just say they aren't sure rather than state they will "send information in 30 minutes" repeatedly. It was a case of saying yes to anything to mask lack of information. It took multiple attempts/emails/calls to get detailed information that turned out to be one sentence in an email that repeated what was already said from the very first phone call. I tried to reach a manager at Titan to provide some fair constructive feedback but did not have my call returned. I realize my experience is just one and hopefully not indicative of their business. But it seemed very much like an unprofessional inexperienced company that did not give any impression of knowing the business. Again, hopefully it was just an outlier sales rep that was not very competent. would not recommend this company at all! read more
