I was surprised that it was a full house this morning around 8am but I learned it's best to come on a Tues/Wed/Thurs based on advice. Jessie provided thorough care. She's tactful and extremely entertaining. Loved her vibes! She was gentle even when my vein needed a reboot, the pain was tolerable without being too scary. I wish I could say it's super easily available to make an appointment but it's not. However, walk in's usually come and go pretty quickly. Today was just an extraordinary day. On some days here, there is a lovely guy checking people in calmly, professionally, who engages with you like you're a real human, and staff is quiet, efficient and kind. Other days it's a gal barking at people coming in the door who doesn't even look up, music is playing on a crappy cell phone speaker (I was told it was for "patient privacy" but I doubt it) and staff are eating in the patient areas. Often the door is locked even during posted open hours. The parking spots are currently behind a chain link fence. Go somewhere else if you are able to! read more

Blood draws are a necessary health evil. With the current doctor's office setup these days, I feel like I'm off on a mission to go get requested labs or scans or physical exams not during my a basic annual checkup. Obviously I ended up here since my doc requested labs. There are are couple of LabCorp locations in the Oakland area but the hiccup is well one of them is closed. In addition, the doc says I can make an appt so I can avoid the wait and the fact that I have to fast, so I don't have to starve longer. Well guess what, this location has zero appt openings. The best approach is to just show up as a walk in. That's just what I did. I drove myself over there to find the lot is TINY as in zero room of any cars. I park 4 blocks over in the residential area. Walk in to register myself and wait along with 5+ other patient customers waiting for their blood to be sucked up. On a Tuesday before lunch, my wait was probably an hour and I was done. Wish the health system was more patient friendly but these days I just feel like I'm in a manufacturing line up and I have to physically go to other locations to satisfy my doc's orders. On the plus side, the staff is friendly enough to make my visit worthwhile. read more

Having switched to a new primary doctor, his lab test order are for LabCorp. With my previous doctor, my lab test orders were with the other competitor lab at South Shore. The LabCorp office is located in an open complex area of two buildings between Park St and Park Ave. There's parking spaces allocate for LabCorp but was full so I had to find street parking, which I found a block away. Getting an appointment was easy through the website. You get an email reminder when your appointment draws near. Having had two visits here, the first time I received a text to check in about 20 mins before the appointment, but this latest visit, I did receive a check in text and had to check in at the kiosk inside the office. Even if you have insurance, they run your credit card as a hold for payment and will then send you an adjusted bill for payment in the mail. On my last visit, I had a 10am appointment and I arrived at 9:45 to check in. The clerk in front got my payment card and I signed the acknowledgement. Within 5 minutes, a lab tech called me in for my blood draw. With only on vial, the test was quickly done and I was on my way. Friendly and efficient staff. Very timely and ahead of schedule with their appointments. But more than likely you'll have to park outside and walk to the lab. read more

No one likes getting their blood drawn, but this is the very best place to go. I have small veins which can be difficult to find. Not for these experts (I think her name was Stephanie?). I rolled up my sleeve, made a fist as directed and felt a pinch. Before I knew it, she filled 5 vials and applying a bandaid! ... and LabCorp quickly notified me by email of my test results. I was the first person at the clinic and the lady checking me in was rude and took forever and even though I was the first person to be checked in I was not the first person to be treated. There was no appointments either that were waiting. This place is an embarrassment. I would go somewhere else but labcorp has been shuttering there offices. Rude. Offensive. Lack of empathy. Had a humiliating experience. There's never the same technicians there, so no one acts like they care about you. I go monthly because I had a liver transplant. Last time the check in machine wasn't working properly, and I asked the girl at the desk to help me and she was very rude. Another gentleman there helped me do it. Then when it was my turn it was a young girl who I told I take Eliquis, which is a blood thinner so she said no problem and she drew the blood, got it out no problem, but she said there was no wraps to put around where they draw the blood so she put a pad and sent me on my way. by the time I walked out of LabCorp and into the parking lot, the blood was soaked through my shirt, it was running down my arm. It was really bad. I went back in to LabCorp and the same girl that was at the desk, saw me come in with the blood pouring down onto her floor, and totally ignored me. The girl who drew my blood ran in the back to avoid me entirely with all the other people that work there and so I yelled I need help and the girl behind the desk apologized to the man that she was helping and said excuse me sir I have to attend to this woman who is screaming! It was an emergency and no one cared. I explained to her I wasn't bandaged properly and I tried to apologize for raising my voice but I was scared of her bleeding, so she got tape miraculously she found tape after they said they didn't have any the first time, that could tape up my arm after she cleaned it all up with water and the same rag she used to clean floor! As I was sitting waiting for my turn, I thought to myself: "this is weird, but I think I'm going to have to write a five star review for a bloodwork lab." Bloodwork is never going to be a fun or painless experience (and I'm not saying this was fun or painless). Yet somehow, every staff member made what would ordinarily be at minimum an annoying but mostly stressful experience positive. I wish I could remember the name of the woman at the front desk. She was so helpful and a champ handling all the walk-ins, people dropping off samples and running out the door, and older folks who struggled with English or finding their medical documents. The rest of the staff were super efficient (I didn't have an appointment, but waited only 25 minutes before I was called on a Thursday around noon), gentle, and friendly. Lab results were done and easily accessible on the patient portal online by the next day. Hard to find parking but there's street meter parking. It's a small LabCorp spot hidden between some businesses in a small building. The location is clean, sanitary, all staff wore masks. Sign in through the iPad system then check in with receptionist. The nurse was extremely gentle and warm when she drew my blood panel. I got scared bc I hate blood panels, she made me feel very comfortable and saw that I looked discomfort from the needle. She reco next time to get a smaller needle for my small veils lol. The testing and people working in the back are good. But the folks running the front desk are rude and need to learn how to work with humans. If they cannot be nice and polite to customers, then they should not be customer facing. I have had a vasovagal reaction to getting my blood drawn before, which has caused me to throw up and faint. I was recommended Labcorp as a better option in terms of patient experience. The patient experience proved to be better, though still uncomfortable, and I was relieved upon leaving that I would not have to get my blood drawn again for a long time. Two weeks later, I had only received 4 of 12 of my results, so I followed up. Imagine my surprise when I found out that of my 12 tests, 8 of them had been lost -- the lab had "failed to collect them." Two thirds of my tests, including the ones most crucial to my health, were somehow overlooked by Labcorp, a place that exists to do one single thing: draw blood and test it. I am in disbelief that they could make a mistake like this, especially when my health and well-being are at stake. It's simply unacceptable. read more

She told me to make a fist to make a vein more visible. Then, she inserted the needle into the vein, and told me to relax my fist. I complied. At Quest, they always withdrew my blood using three separate test tubes, but at Labcorp, they only needed to fill one test tube with blood. Then, the phlebotomist put a little bandage over the area where she'd inserted the needle, and wrapped a wide elastic band around my arm. FIVE STARS for the smooth-running check-in process and FIVE STARS for the blood withdrawal process. At the end of this month, a physician at John Muir Health will discuss the test results with me. read more

Wow, I'm shocked to see most of these negative reviews. I actually like this location! Now, I'm not saying I like to get poked or like my blood being drawn. But when it comes to getting blood work done here, they are thorough, professional, and well-organized. Shoot, that's all that matters! I've come here several times as my OB/GYN is just down the street (easy to get blood work after I see her). I LA, LA, LA LOVE that they take walk-ins. No need for those dreadful appointments where most people can't even keep their appointments or never show (UGH). The lobby area is small but VERY clean. The check-in process is easy; make sure that you have your ID card and your insurance card ready for check-in. Now, the only thing that does suck is parking. Do they really have only ONE parking stall in the front? OMG. Yes, Y'all. Make sure you don't park in the stalls that don't belong to LabCorp-I promise you will get a ticket, the parking patrol don't play 'round this area. Big shout out to the Phlebotomist here! Ji Lee always seems to be the person that draws my blood, and she is such a sweetheart! She's caring and takes her time. It's not often I come here but when I do, it's a great experience. read more

I come here whenever my doctor needs some routine blood tests. Staff is friendly and I've never had any issues with this place. I don't bother making appointments since they allow walk ins. I'm a morning person and they usually open at 7am so I will show up around this time. There's hardly anyone inside this early and I think the longest I was in there for was 30 minutes. I think there's only 1 customer parking spot in the front but you're better off finding street parking. Don't forget to bring your ID and insurance card. read more

Went in on a Sat to draw Progesterone and CBC, front desk woman took my payment, I drew blood, later I get a phone call saying she didn't know they didn't do Progesterone stat on weekends and had to refund me. As someone going thru fertility treatments and a high risk pregnancy patient, this was extremely stressful that I basically gave blood for nothing. I already dread getting poked every week. Our 2.5 yo toddler went in for a blood test and an adult sized collection tube was used. The blood flow was too slow and didn't fill up the entire tube. The collected blood had to be discarded and blood to be re-collected all over again. We were only informed at that point of the difference between adult sized v.s. pediatric collection tubes, and that they had to use adult-sized tubes if not instructed otherwise, even if the test was ordered by a pediatrician for a toddler patient. "We do not provide consulting" said a senior white male front desk staff to the technician who brought to his attention the apparent discrepancy she first noticed while checking us in. read more
