The long edit: I sat in stylist's chair (a "level 8"...) and showed her an inspo picture. I was wanting to go from a level 5 to 6 all over balayage, to adding a little bit more dimension. So I asked for lifting in some areas and low lights other areas. Not that complicated. She left me in the chair for about 30 minutes as she consulted with her colleagues and acted as if I was a level three wanting to go platinum. That's when I should've walked out. I had a feeling in my gut that she was not going to be able to handle the task. But instead I was too nice and stayed. Anyways. After about 40 minutes of processing, during which she kept complaining that my hair wasn't lifting and accused multiple times I must've used box dye before coming in, my hair was a mess of orange streaks and black base. She went in super dark all over and couldn't lift the pieces she'd pulled. It was a mess. But what made the session so much worse is the fact that she was just so rude to me. As if she'd done me a favor by accepting to see me and just kept insisting that it was my fault because I must've been using box dye. Let me be very clear, I did not pay hundreds of dollars to hide a $10 box from her. I take extremely good care of my hair and had never had a problem lifting, so to be condescended for hours and accused of using box dye was a ridiculous engagement. I left very disappointed and immediately called my usual stylist to fix it. In the end I paid twice the amount to have it corrected. Spoiler alert, she had no issues fixing the orange and lifting the hair to give me exactly what I'd wanted. Generally speaking, I would've given them another chance, as it takes a while to get to know each other, I get that. My review is based on the way that I was treated- the way that I was condescended. The service was just extremely rude and dismissive, and there was this awkward air the entire time as if she was doing me a favor by attempting to deliver a very basic service. You could tell she didn't want to do it and didn't want to be there and was being extremely rude to you. This place is a lot like visible changes where they're charging you a premium purely based on the artist tenure, not an ability to actually deliver quality. Do not recommend at all.

After the third time that happened, I started going to the owner, Carter, and I finally found my perfect match! He understands exactly what I am looking for and takes the time to make sure my finished product looks fabulous. The salon itself is small and there are only about 4-5 patrons in there at a time, which is nice if you are looking for a calm, relaxing day at the salon. I believe they have soft drinks, water, and wine, but it is not regularly offered so maybe they don't do that anymore. They also have the comfortable hair-washing sinks which don't require you to snap your neck in two to have your color washed out. Kimberly also does a great job of massaging your scalp and giving you a nice relaxing rinse. I also love that they do not aggressively push hair products on you as you are trying to check out. The prices are on par for other salons that I have visited. I will always suggest CVS to anyone looking for a new salon!

Asked for highlights and showed the owner a few photos of the color I wanted which was more towards the ashy blonde/light brown side and perhaps w/ pink or purple highlights. I was drawn to this salon because of the amazing pictures, so I did innately trust the owner who seemed to be extremely personable and professional to color my hair at least decently. Went home under natural light to find my hair color two shades darker and basically black with some barely there highlights behind my head that were inside my hair. Went to another hair salon ten days later to color correct, and the stylist literally said: "i don't get it, there are literally strands of white that haven't been dyed just like randomly put into the back of ur head". Felt like my hair was dyed on a whim, and she didn't really put much thought into if I liked it or not. I remember texting her to get a color adjustment before I took matters into my own hands-- she texted back once that she'd be willing to and then I never heard from her again after multiple attempts to reach out. It's funny cuz I would've dropped any amount of money just to get my desired result, and would've been a faithful repeat customer. The photos show the effect I wanted and what it turned out to be. I can't think of any other reason why they'd do this since they all seemed so nice, except that she thought she could get away with it.

Totally worth it. My daughter has a tangle of loose curls and it's literally the first cut she ever had that doesn't look like it barely made a dent in the mayhem. She told me I'd be meeting with Hannah, and gave me a cup of coffee and led me to the chair. First off, Hannah made me feel super comfy, as I hadn't been to a salon in over 3 years. I have fine curly/coily hair I hacked while in lockdown, and Hannah fixed me riiiiight up. Quickly. With ease. Us curly folks already know the fears of salons, but Hannah was confident, super super sweet, and so good at what she does. The owner was there too, which I thought was really cool. Overall, I was made so welcome (even though I called literally 20 minutes before I came in), the salon was so cute and cozy, and I left feeling like a million bucks! With that said, this review is strictly for the haircut (3/5) and the color is still a (5/5) Do your research on haircuts. I hadn't considered that everyone has a different cutting technique and the description of the haircut that you've been getting consistently with one stylist may not be interpreted the same way by another stylist :( After the initial cut, one side was about 1-2 inches shorter than the other side. So then the end result was my hair being much shorter than I wanted in the first place. Much of it was dry cutting which can be so hit or miss depending on the stylist, and some texturing at the ends (which to me just made it worse... I prefer thick sharp ends) Love the color and I kept saying that but haircut wise, the more I look at it the worse I feel about it and it just complete takes away from the color since I will prob keep it up until it grows out. In my opinion, It's shaggy and just does not look sleek like after past haircuts. Also peep the long forgotten piece of hair in the back (but the front is the shaggy part I don't like)
