We celebrated a double January birthday here last night and the overall concept of the place is excellent, the execution let me down BIG TIME. The highlight for sure is the fact that the team truly showcases the ranch behind the meat and the meat itself. After being sat at our table, we quickly ordered drinks. A small cocktail menu, a few beers, a small selection of wines. They really can't make any cocktail that isn't on their menu (I asked for a dirty martini but the only vodka they offered was absolut and that just wasn't going to happen). Maybe they're still working on building out their bar. They do allow you to bring in your own bottle for a corking fee. Within 10 minutes, our table was brought back to a different area where we watched a video about the ranch in Florida where the cattle are raised and then a butcher presented the various cuts. It was interactive and really fun. We decided to opt for the 3lb tomahawk on offer ($100/lb) because it was a birthday celebration. Our friends opted for a skirt steak and a 12oz prime rib. We went back to our table where we put in an order for appetizers. We did the mix croquettes, waygu dumplings and side of risotto. The servers were attentive and before we knew it, our appetizers were coming out. The croquettes were good but very small. The dumplings were also good but not hot. Our meal sides of salad and potatoes came out next. The salad was basic and the dressing very oily and salty. The potatoes were good but cold and also swimming in oil. The prime rib and skirt steak got served first. Each cut of meat came out on hot skillets. Our friends seemed to really enjoy their cuts. Our tomahawk came out next and was cut table side. We ordered the cut cooked medium rare and it was BLUE. The server immediately said the hot plate they were serving it on would cook it more and brought us out individual skillets as well. The skillet definitely cooked the slices slightly more, but the marbling of the cut never cooked enough to make it enjoyable. This resulted in very gristly bites which was severely disappointing for the price of this item. I agree with other reviews - if your restaurant is standing on its meat, you better be able to cook it perfectly and this definitely is not what happened. Because it was a birthday, the staff did bring out two desserts, one for each birthday boy. It was their dirt cake. It was very powdery and I didn't enjoy it at all. The space itself has potential but again, the execution does let the concept down. Plaid tablecloths are laid all around, candles, dried flowers. It could all be elevated to achieve the unpretentious, farm-to-table look they seem to be going for but enhance it much more for the cost per person. Overall, the concept is interesting but the cook on our very expensive tomahawk really let us down. Our final bill for 4 was over $750 (granted, the tomahawk was $300) so I expected much better. I hope they can improve because this is a really fun concept restaurant. If I could do half stars, I would say it was a 1.5 experience because of value for money and execution, but I'll round up because the concept is really special.

La Wagyeria was the most.incredible one-of-a-kind culinary dining experience centered around the world's most luxurious beef: Wagyu. Their mission is to provide guests with a unique opportunity to explore the rich flavors and tenderness of Wagyu in an inviting, sophisticated atmosphere, and boy did they deliver. We went with a group of friends from The Beef Team because this experience truly exhibits the "pasture to plate" concept. Every Thursday, Friday & Saturday night they offer an exclusive concept, where you can enjoy a unique WAGYU EXPERIENCE. This experience begins with going into "the lab" where you watch a video about the ranches where the Wagyu cattle are raised. Then you get to meet the butcher and choose from several varieties of Wagyu cuts of meat. During our visit, they offered Ribeye, New York, Denver, Bavette Skirt, and Filet Mignon cuts. I usually go with Ribeye, but after a conversation and guidance from the Butcher, I decided to try the Denver cut which was a specialty cut with exquisite flavor profile. Then you go back to your table where you can order from a variety of cocktails and appetizers while their talented chefs prepare your chosen Wagyu to perfection, cooked rare unless specified otherwise. Their menu features Spanish-inspired appetizers and we tried the orzo truffle risotto, mushroom Croquetas and the Wagyu dumplings. They also had a cocktail menu with a variety of craft cocktails and each one is named after one of their bulls from the ranch. I tried the Ferdinand which is their version of the margarita and Casanova which is a Paloma, mango with white sangria. The meat is served with a side of hand cut potatoes and an organic farm-to-table salad. The Denver cut is the best tasting steak cuts that I have ever experienced with marbling throughout the meat and a fat cap. The meat was cooked to perfection and each bite just melted in your mouth. We were given complimentary desserts including The Pot with vanilla ice cream, Oreo, Nutella, pretzel, caramel and sea salt. and Passion Fruit Mousse. The presentation of The Pot dessert was so cute as it came in a pot shaped container with spoons shaped like shovels. We got a tour of the kitchen area and the owner met with us to give us the backstory of the business and some interesting history of the origins of the restaurant. This dining experience exceeded all expectations and can't return soon enough!!

I had an interesting experience here, but I expected it based on the other reviews. The decor is a bit odd, like they're trying to be fancy but everything looks like it came from Ikea or Amazon -- from the tablecloths to the bookshelves. Strange vibe aside, our server was friendly and welcoming. My partner and I did find the order of operations a little weird too, since you're seated and told to order drinks and apps first, before waiting to be led to the room where all the meat is. We ordered the following: Mix croquettes: 1/5 The filling was very mushy and bland with little to no flavor. Orzo truffle risotto: 1/5 This was extremely thick and had an artificial truffle taste. We did not enjoy this and left a lot unfinished. It was very salty as well. Denver cut wagyu: 5/5 Delicious cut of meat! This was a bit salty but the flavor and texture of the meat was great. Ribeye cut wagyu: 3/5 The meat quality wasn't as good as we expected and was very salty. The pot: 2/5 Very meh -- super salty in some bites and super sweet in others. They don't really advertise it, but your steaks come with unlimited salad and potatoes. The salad was decent but soggy with the dressing, and the potatoes were very dry and tasted like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. Overall, I would come back purely for the denver cut but I'd skip the apps and dessert.

If you're looking for a true wagyu experience without crossing the river -- La Wagyeria in South Austin is it! This isn't your typical steakhouse; it's an elevated, educational, and genuinely fun dining experience. We were greeted upon arrival and sat down at their adorably decorated tables, giving you a chic farm fresh experience. After you've placed your drink order and drinks arrive you're invited to the back where their butcher walks you through the cuts available for the night, along with a short video presentation about their ranch and how their wagyu cattle are raised. You can tell how much care goes into it -- sustainable farming practices and a stress-free environment that creates the signature marbling and melt-in-your-mouth texture that makes their wagyu so special. We started with the wagyu dumplings (super fun and flavorful) and heard the croquetas are also excellent. But the real star of the show was the steak! We went with the Ribeye and Denver cut. BOTH were INCREDIBLE, but the Denver was easily one of the best steaks we've ever had -- perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor, plus it was only $60 for a 10-12oz cut and comes with addicting roasted potatoes and a refreshing salad, which is tough to beat in Austin. Our server, Dylan, was outstanding -- super attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about what he does. The service really added to the whole experience. We finished the night with "The Pot" dessert cup, which was surprisingly delicious and the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. The entire experience takes about two hours, and while they do take walk-ins, we definitely recommend making a reservation so they can give you the full attention and service they're known for! If you're looking for an upscale yet approachable night out with phenomenal food, incredible service, and an experience you'll be talking about for days -- La Wagyeria is a must!

I preface this with I am HIGHLY sensitive to onion. And pork. So my options here are limited. Keep that in mind. The owners have managed to transform the warehouse space into an intimate and unpretentious eatery. I couldn't have any apps except the risotto, which made it to the table after our mains were served. It turned out to be good (very truffle-y), it just not needed at that point, so we packed it to go. My table enjoyed the dumplings and I hear they were tasty- we were told they had pork in them, so I did not partake. You are whisked away to join the chef/butcher/rancher/owner to select your cut and learn about the process and history. The cuts vary each night. And for me, they are big, but they will cut you a smaller piece if you ask. It is a pretty cool experience. Then you return to the table- order a drink. All main meats come with salad and potatoes. The potatoes were bland by themselves and served with what I can only imagine was a mixture of raw onion juice, tomato and maybe carrot? It tried to kill me is all I know. My eyes are still swollen and itchy from it being in front of me. The sides for the main and came out about 20 mins before the meat. They were a little cold and soggy by the time the meat arrived. The salad was a lot or raw purple onion and chunky tomatoes. Not their fault I couldn't eat it. So at the is point, I'm hungry. The meat arrived warm and cooked to order. The ribeye was very fatty, but the dog got a lovely fat snack later. We also tried the hanger. While both were delicious, my favorite was the often overlooked skirt- thin, cooked perfectly, and flavorful. On to desserts. One is a dirt cake and one is a passion fruit mousse. Both fun and delicious. But the mousse was the perfect ending to any meal: light yet rich, fruity, perfectly sized. If you just want a glass of wine and dessert, this is a great option! The website is misleading on drinks. They DO have drinks; it is not just BYOB! The cab by the glass was very complementary to my dinner. Mixed drinks may want to rethink the glassware- the mango sangria was served in a martini glass with a lot of ice. It tasted great, but I want my sangria served in a mason jar and/or strained. I think a good and missed opportunity is just outside their doors: local wine options from CL Butaud and a cocktail collaboration with Still. I'd love to see a Yard alfresco event. Overall, the prices are highly reasonable for Wagyu, the owner is amazing, and the staff is friendly. We are looking forward to trying different cuts next time. And there will be a next time!

So when you first walk in the place is really cute totally date night vibes. The host was so nice. She even came to our table on one point because nobody had to come up to us to offer us anything and she apologized for that and even gave us dessert on the house because of that. They do have a couple of cocktails and wine that you can choose from. I'm not really a Pinot Grigio girl, but I have to say the one they had was really delicious. They even let you try it before you decide to get a glass or a bottle of it. You're also welcome to bring your own wine or beer. You just pay a cork fee for it. Now, as far as the food goes, I have to say the harmonical was amazing. It literally was explained to us that they bring it from Spain, so it's like the real thing not some fake version of it. As when it comes to the meat is really cool they have you go to the back with them to the show room and then you pick out the type of cut you want and they cut it for you in front of you. Then you tell them how you want it cooked and then they escort you back to your table so you can keep enjoying your appetizer. With the meat order it includes a salad and potatoes with it, which was delicious. The salad had a really good vinaigrette and was very fresh and the potatoes were so yummy. It had like almost a buttery sweet flavor to them and the dipping sauce, and it was great. Now when it came to the steak, sadly I had ordered mine medium, and it came well done. They did offer to get me another one, but I didn't wanna wait because it was already late and I was hungry so I sucked it up and ate at the way it was. I have to say the flavor was great, but since it was well done, it was a little chewy. The dessert there's only two to choose from and we got one called the pot, which looks like a little plant and it honestly was unique and the flavor combination was really good. Only thing I will say is when you take a spoonful in do not inhale because the powder will go to your throat and you will start coughing a lot lol. Other than that, the place is really cute. I definitely would go back to give it a try again and hopefully this time they would have more meat selections since they did run out of a couple of cuts that I did want to order.

All the food here was made really well. Some people, especially the really hungry people might not like that you can't order your steak right away and have to be shown a presentation of the steaks to so that you can pick your cut. But to me it was interesting and informative even though I was hungry and wanted to get my food in faster. The whole seating and presentation area looked very nice. For appetizers the mixed croquette balls were really good. My favorite one out of the three was the mushroom one. House salad + dressing and the potato wedges were excellent sides. For the steak we had the Denver cut just cause they sold it to us in a way where we can't typically get this cut in most places so we had to try it. The boss man found out that we were sharing the steak so he gave us the bigger slice. Dont tell his wife, she was not there that day! The steak was good. But not being a steak expert, the meat shown looked like it did not have the best marbling for the normal cuts. Perhaps the denver did since its a leaner cut by nature. The plant pot dessert has a really nice presentation and was great. Do expect to pay a bit more since it's waygu steaks. But still definitely worth a try. I would still come back to try other cuts.

Made a reservation to celebrate a birthday. I didn't know they had a whole "showroom" experience when they talk through the cuts with the chef so you can make an informed choice. They also talk about the ranch and their practices during the presentation. I enjoyed this experience because it's always fun to know where exactly your food comes from. We split Denver at Rare+, I personally loved it. It was nice and tender, not too fatty, just right. The temperature was nailed exactly at what asked. At first, we looked at ribeye, but when they mentioned that you can't usually buy Denver in store, I was curious to try it. Next time we are trying their ribeye thought! The dessert was really cute! It was complimentary for the birthday and it looked like a plant pot. Very happy with the service! Our server was very nice and attentive, often checked us everything was fine. The beer list was on a modest side and no tap, but Sapporo was a good option to have with the steak.

Checked out La Wagyeria while out in Austin. This is a new restaurant experience located in the South Austin St. Elmo district. La Wagyeria raises grass-fed American Wagyu on their Florida Ranch and serves it up directly at their Miami and Austin restaurants. The atmosphere, the service, the food and the overall experience were exceptional. The restaurant staff was experienced and provided a superior level of service. You are taken to a meat selection room where you are given a nice presentation about the history of the ranch and owners. After the presentation you get an overview of the cuts of meat available and get to make your selection. From there they hand cut your steak and expertly cook it. The appetizers and drinks were tasty and refreshing. We started out with a basket of their mixed croquettes, Serrano Ham, Leek and Mushroom were the three different flavor croquettes and all three were amazing and I had a hard time choosing my favorite. We also ordered a homemade chorizo sausage served with pickled veggies, mustard and crostinis, the sausage was juicy and had the perfect amount of seasoning. For the steak we ordered the Tomahawk, it was seasoned perfectly and cooked to a beautiful medium rare. They also bring out a house salad for the table and a small basket of fried potatoes for each person. The entire meal was perfect. For the cocktails, they have a limited menu with 4 different cocktails to choose from. Each named after one of their Bull's. I had a Sake Negroni and a Hibiscus Margarita and both really were refreshing and paired well with the meal. The overall experience was exceptional, I couldn't think of anything that could have made the meal and overall dining experience better. They are open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and I would highly recommend stopping in to check them out in either their Austin or Miami, FL locations.

It was an interesting experience but also a little confusing concept. Walking into a warehouse type space with interesting table decor that seems like they're trying to be fancy; it's like an identity crisis. It is a cool concept in general and you can tell they really take pride in their beef. They walk you to a back room towards a dark hallway and when you see a guy wearing black gloves and an apron, for a moment you don't know if this is actually an episode of Dexter or you're about to learn about cows and cuts. Oh yeah, and you have to watch happy cows walking around on the video and then turn around to see their parts cut up on the table. Admittedly, as an animal-lover trying to not become a vegetarian, it was hard. So you pick out what cut of meat you want and then go back to your tables and wait for them to cook it. The steaks come with potatoes as a side which were OK. The salad was actually good, though may seem a bit salty to some. We also ordered the Serrano ham croquettes which were decent but nothing amazing. The steaks were good but I've actually had better at other steak places in town. I don't think it's necessarily the quality of beef but maybe how it was prepared? I get a filet pretty much every where I go so I have a lot to compare to. I hate to say it, but the star of the night was the Machete cocktail. I'm not sure I'd go back but I think it's worth checking out for the experience.

An exclusive pop-up visit from La Wagyeria for 15 nights only, I was excited to snag a reservation and enjoy this experience. I was a little skeptical since there weren't many reviews online or info around the pop-up, but decided to stick with it and venture out. Overall, it was a unique farm-to-table experience and the steak was stellar, as one would expect from a business whose main selling point is their luxurious beef. However, the rest of the experience was pretty mediocre at best, and I would not recommend it nor would I do it again. OVERVIEW: - Food (3/5): Beyond the steak itself, everything else was nothing special. And very expensive for the value. - Service (2/5): Incredibly slow. Because this was a pop-up in an event space, they were not operating with a full/normal restaurant kitchen. Water was not offered nor free ($13...give me a break, this was more than the alcohol!). Soda cans were $5 a pop. It was sort of a makeshift of servers, so it was clear they had no experience actually serving in a restaurant. They only took 1 table at a time to order their steak, so people were waiting hours for food. It was very backlogged. I'm grateful we got there first and were the first to order, but I could feel the frustration of others who had been there for an hour and hadn't even ordered their meat yet. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, this is along a popular strip of breweries, pickleball spots, and bars. Plenty of parking lot spots and free street parking. - Reservations? Yes, required as this was a limited time pop-up experience. - Cost? High ($$$) FOOD RATINGS: - Steak (ribeye and filet mignon, 5/5): Loved getting to pick our cuts and have them made to order. This part of the experience was cool, albeit a bit time consuming. Perfectly cooked and simply seasoned, these melted in our mouths! - Potatoes (3/5): Hand cut and baked but boring. The attempt at an aioli was pretty sad. - Organic salad (2/5): Waaay too many onions and not nearly enough dressing. Was fresh but that's about it. - Croquettes (4/5): Perfectly golden and flavorful. We really enjoyed these!

What a unique experience getting to pick your own steak and watch them cut it in front of you. This was genuinely the best steak we have ever been serviced. The ambiance is very relaxed as it is in a warehouse that they decorated. The food was truly so delicious and it was a fun way to celebrate a special occasion. The service was very attentive to check up on you. Definitely worth a visit!

My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday. I loved it!! Super cool and unique experience. You have the chance to go into the "Wagyu Lab" and learn more about La Wagyeria as well as meet the butchers (who were genuinely so nice and down to earth). The steak was delicious and melted in your mouth. The potato's were delicious and crispy. My favorite was the Wagyu dumplings. 10/10 would recommend. Also-- our server was great! He was a younger kid but phenomenal service.

I was craving Ube and might have gone a bit overboard on ordering dessert because they had so many Ube options. The building is colorful and decorated in bright pink with fun artwork and decor for an uplifting vibe. The line moved quickly and the service was friendly fast and efficient. I was able to place my order and pay with Apple Pay. I ordered the Taiyaki Sundae with black sesame and ube swirl soft serve served in a fish shaped mochi Belgian style waffle with Oreo dust on top. You can customize your sundae with filling like organic red sweet beans, Nutella or custard and toppings like Oreo dust, fruity pebbles or rainbow sprinkles. I ate this on site and the nutty black sesame balanced the sweet ube perfectly, and the Oreo topping added the best crunch. They had a variety of mochi donut flavors. Lucky for me, nothing was sold out today. I ordered the Oreo ube mochi donut and ube milk tea to-go. I ate the mochi donut later that day and it was probably my least favorite item from my order. It had the chewy mochi texture however I didn't get enough of the rich ube flavor. It had somewhat of a bitter aftertaste and the Oreo overpowered the ube. I drank the ube milk tea the next day and it was creamy, smooth, and not overly sweet. I really enjoyed the flavor profile of the beverage and would order it again. Overall, enjoyed my selections and will be back to try more dessert options and flavors from one of the most unique Asian dessert spots in Austin!

Gordough's is one of those places that fully commits to indulgence. I was able to place my order online and schedule for pick up. The order was ready when I arrived. Parking was a bit challenging and the lot was full and they charge for parking. Service was quick, casual, just good energy and fast turnaround. I ordered my tried and true Miss Shortcake with their famous cake donut with cream cheese icing and fresh cut strawberries. The donut is so indulgent and was served warm with the most delectable flavor combinations. Tried the Son of a Peach with cream cheese icing, spiced peach filling, cake mix topping, cinnamon and sugar with honey butter. This one was a bit too overindulgent and sweet for my liking but was definitely worth a try. Portions are huge and can be shared as the donut is not as good warmed over. If you're in the mood for dessert and not think about calorie count, then this is the place.

It's lighter, softer, and more delicate. We also tried the tarts, including ube and matcha, and they were very delicious as well. Overall, it's a great spot if you enjoy lighter, fluffy desserts and want to try something a little different.

I believe this may be a smaller Uncle Tetsu and might not have every item but they have most things. They had samples available and for my first visit, I was able to get a good impression of select items! I had the opportunity to sample a piece of their cheesecake biscotti and matcha cheesecake. I asked for a recommendation as a first time and was told I have to try the original to start. Service seemed friendly but felt a little rushed for me to hurry up. Cheesecake Biscotti - from my small slice, I was impressed. It's an airy cookie that's baked to a crispy finish. The exterior is crispy but the inside is fluffy, it's a fun texture that simply feels remarkable. Plus the overall cheesecake flavor is a delightful sweetness. Matcha Cheesecake - I was impressed with the softness. The small sample was so light yet ready to fall from the toothpick at any moment. It was just so delicate. Matcha was present though it's hard to say how strong from a quick sample so I'll reserve on that. Original Cheesecake - now for the real experience, it's no exaggeration to say that this quite literally melts in your mouth. It's almost like the cake simply dissolves, leaving a cheesecake flavor behind. Super fluffy, light, and airy, the cheesecake is delicate and when you eat it, your taste buds light up as if a spotlight is emphasizing the presentation. Fantastic end to any meal as well, especially because it's not heavy at all.
