We stopped in because the place was bustling and loud on a Saturday afternoon. We figured the locals knew what's what.
Indeed the seafood here is amazing!
We started with some "Imperiales" large anchovies that glisten with olive oil on a long cracker of sorts. So delicious if you are an anchovy fan!
Then we had a plate of steamed berberechos, a tiny clam that tasty like the clean, fresh sea. So sweet and tender!
We followed with a dozen gambas. The best we have had in Spain.
The waiter told us that the next day they would serve a tapa at midday that was rice with seafood for €2.50.
We returned and had that too. It was delicious though the amount of little shrimp and mussels was small, the fish stock used for the sauce was perfect. My husband had two portions and I had a little anchovies and queso fresco sandwich. I could eat them everyday day!
The tapas are all reasonably priced, if you order some of the items that are charged by the pound, your bill can climb quickly. The gambas were €15.
Considering the quality, you can't go wrong.
The Oloroso sherry and dry white wine they serve by the glass is good and low prices, like all of Spain.
I only wish we were staying in Sevilla longer! read more
