Recommended by a local we wondered into this restaurant not really knowing what to expect. And the results were fantastic. We were a large party and we're immediately seated in the back where we could see all the action. The restaurant looks like a cave or a wine cellar. Rock walls and ceiling, decorated with all kinds of fun pictures and art. If you've ever been to a Buca di Beppo in the States it's the same kind of vibe. Because we were a large party we ordered a bunch of tapas so we could taste a variety of food. I was taken by two in particular. The salmorejo soup and the fried dogfish. Absolutely amazing! We tried Giralda after touring the Alcaraz and were pretty impressed. The interior is very cool with lots of stonework, and we had good service. The food: We tried 4 tapas. Stuffed peppers, spanish omelet, shrimp friters, and fried goat cheese. The stuffed peppers were full of meat and cheese. The spanish omelet was good, but a little plain. The shrimp fritters were amazing and I wish we got more. The real star of the show was the goat cheese. Absolutely delicious and worth getting a large plate of them. I'd definitely recommend a meal at Giralda as they had lots of options and everything was good if not great. read more

Great atmosphere! The place is set in old public baths and it is located right by the cathedral. We decided to eat here before we went into the Alcazar of Seville. The place is a whole experience and the service was great. Though they were busy and it was 4 of us, I felt our drinks kept coming and we had no issues getting the waiter's attention. Cerveceria Giralda was one of our most memorable dinners in Seville. This restaurant has a very unique history. In 2020, while going through some construction upgrades, remains of a 12th century hammam were found within the restaurant. We ordered variety of Tapas: Stuffed avocado with baby eel salad Oxtail in sauce. Pork cheeks. Shiitake mushrooms stuffed with prawns & pico de gallo. Everything was unique & outstanding. Baby eel salad in the avocado was my favorite, while my husband loved Oxtail so much that he ordered it again. Amazing meal in a middle of history. read more

The place located in the heart of old district right next to the Seville Cathedral in an ancient 12th century Hammam. The place has a nice vibes, really good tapas, pleasant view. The only one thing I found unfortunate is no cocktails, they do have alcohol, but they don't mix, I would suggest to add it to get more attention to the place. We noticed the menu here when my wife and I stopped in for drinks -- it looked interesting even though the dessert I had -- the lemon mousse was disappointing (seemed more like gelatin than mousse, with the lemon curd settled to the bottom), We were more pleased when we returned for dinner. I had an appetizer of baked goat cheese with sesame seeds, and boneless pork ribs with creamed red beans topped with chilis. Nancy enjoyed her artichokes with mushrooms and prawns. And unlike the mousse, this time dessert was excellent -- a loose chocolate cake with orange cream. All in all a good meal in an interesting venue, developed from an ancient hammam. read more

Two word: MUST TRY. My sister and I were debating between going here and botin for the suckling pig. We ended up ordering half a pitcher of sangria, the suckling pig, and seafood paella. Oh my God. If you come here you MUST try the suckling pig- it's the most tender, juiciest, fatty, and delicious pork I've ever had. I've travelled to a lot of countries (Australia, New Zealand, all over Europe, U.S, Dominican Republic... the list goes on. But nothing compares). As for the paella, it was so delicious! The portions were big so if you come here with one other person, order a 1 person paella with an order of the suckling pig. You'll be so full and enjoy every bite. The sangria was nice and light. Half a pitcher served about 4 cups total (2 per person). They ended up giving us complimentary alcohol at the end. We stopped in for tapas after touring the Cathedral of Seville. We ordered 3 tapas items to share. Whiskey steak and French fries with roasted garlic (3,50€), Shrimp with Camembert cheese (4€), and Battered Shrimp (4€). It was okay for a light snack. Nothing special to comment about either good or bad. 2 mineral waters brought the total to 14,50€. Restroom was clean and odorless. Service was courteous and efficient. My favorite restaurant in that district. The best hamburger that Ive ever had / absolutely delicious. I returned a second time, however the hamburgers were sold out. I tried some alternatives, which were great also. It's an extremely busy , and popular restaurant, , however, the staff is very nice and accommodating. The head waiter at taberna Manolete said that their owner also owns Giralda around the corner. And also Casa Robles also down the street and around the corner. Basically the head waiter at Taberna Manolete is full of crap. He does have connections with whoever is working as host at Giralda because they also repeated the lie that they serve calamari. You want calamari and a beer don't go to this place or Taberna Manolete because the waiters at both tourist trap hell holes will lie to you that they serve calamari and then when you sit at your table and look at the menu: no calamari because they lied to your face. Even if you're with someone from Spain who's speaking the same language as they are so therefore no confusion the waiters will lie to everybody about what's on the menu to trick you into sitting inside. And then the waiters hustle to get you overpriced bread so now you're stuck with a bill for at least bread. Soul crushing to deal with some serious scumbags who will lie to your face and then stand a few feet away acting like you're invisible when they realize that you realize that they lied to you. Sons of bitches. And then when the person in your group who's actually Spanish, who actually speaks the language because they were born and raised in Spain: if the waiter doesn't like your questions then the waiter acts like you're speaking English; however, if he's okay with your question then suddenly the waiter perfectly understands what you're saying. Such a jerk. Rude waiters. Lying to your face and then they contradict themselves. Food was mediocre. Seafood paella was over salted yet bland and a damn pain in the ass to eat. The McDonald's as well as the Burger King a few streets over are much better in my experience and those places are stressful and crowded. At least that McDonald's and that Burger King have better food in my experience. Honestly, how does a restaurant in Seville in Spain of all places: how do they mess up paella? It was depressing. The place looks like a 1980's T.G.I.Friday's. You can get a better meal for a better price elsewhere in Seville. They will rip you off. And their waiters are working with the jerks over at Manolete around the corner to screw people over. Do NOT get scammed by those jerks at either restaurant. read more

Amazing setting!!! We went inside, and the decoration is lovely! We wre told it used to be a morrish high end spa, so you can imagine. We had an exquisite dinner! We ate like kings! We ordered a lot of tapas: salmorejo, solomillo whiskey, solomillo Fua, aceitunas, choc, chipirinis, corralla, and the lemon dessert. Everything was delicios. We came here with a local because he said this place is really good. I agree with him. Although it's in the shadows of the Giralda and you would expect to get food of substandard quality at an exorbitant price; this was not the case. We ordered the salmorejo and it was delicious. Then we have a plate of charcuterie and cheese and that too was delicious (I just wish they removed the outer paper layer from the meat - I almost choked on a piece of paper before. It was odd and embarrassing - oh, I digress). We had the pork with whiskey sauce (and roasted garlic - goodness that was good), the bull tail and a platter of fried seafood. I thought dinner was supposed to be light, but we went whole hog (or should I say pig?). All the dishes were terrific. We left full and the price was incredibly reasonable for the portion size and the quality. So if you are around the Catedral or Alcazar, don't be shy about coming here to eat. read more

We met an old friend of ours who lives in Sevilla. He said this restaurant has excellent tapas and boy does it ever! He ordered for us and we got our first taste of the succulent bull tail that fell off the bone. The whiskey pork and garlic was so tasty. For the first time I liked the Salmorejo that had fish and other things, and we ate it as a soup. The frito with cod, squid, anchovies...to die for. Ham and cheese plate stellar. This was walking distance from our hotel, and on our last night there we didn't want to venture too far away, settled on this place because it was a perfect night: balmy and warm, a bit of a breeze and it seemed a shame to waste it by sitting indoors, when being under the stars beckoned. Though they don't have an actual patio, they have several close together tables outside, and though it was past 10:pm, it was packed, sleeping babies in strollers, huge paella pans displayed outside. The menu looked terrific, lots of options, which may have in hindsight been a tip off that this was not gonna bit a hit, because after all, how could they possibly do dozens of things well? We ordered oxtail stew with fries, which was not great--runny broth and insipid, the fries too firm on the verge of being raw, but my husband who has never met a french fry he didn't like, found a way to choke them down. We got lamb chops, which were not actually chops per se but more some sort of bizarre ringlets, and I'm certain that if I give them the benefit of doubt, it was a local delicacy. We did have two amazing tapas: a yummy charred vinegary artichoke, grilled perfection. It was my best experience with the artichoke, the one vegetable that with its odd thorn like shape manages to intimidate me, cuz I'm never quite sure what to do with it. But there was no mistaking what to do with this--it was heavenly, all hearts and no mucking amount, no sucking on those sharp tipped weird leaves. We also got a beautiful oozing camembert, fried and stuffed with prawns. Imagine this dish: as if cheese isn't luxurious enough, they fry it in decadence, and to take it over the top, they stuff it with prawns. Seriously? How could any sane person not love fried stuffed oozing with prawn cheese? Not possible, and indeed, we scarfed it down with delirium. The service was in keeping with the vibe of the place: they don't specialize in dining; they're in the business of feeding people and they do it with matter of fact, efficient, friendly service. Ticking off the tapas on the tickets, bringing more as we ordered it. The prices reasonable. I wouldn't call this a destination, but if you're passing by and order wisely, you'll leave happy. read more
