BEST SANGRIA in SEVILLE....Just sayjn' !! Great location in the Barrio de Santa Cruz. The Sangria has wonderful fruit and an added bonus is a cinnamon stick, so yummy! Large pour for 4,60€ Tapas were priced very good. We only had the potato omelette and the tomato & cheese (a caprese style version of Tapa) but both tasty. Service is excellent. My favorite Seville meal so far. The Greek salad was delicate and simple without lettuce but plenty tomatoes, olives, feta cheese, and olive oil. The spicy potatoes with skin on and a creamy spicy aioli sauce melted in my mouth. Our entrees were curry chicken for my husband and skewer wrapped in bacon were delicious to say the least. Very happy with earring here today. My wife ordered the grilled vegetables and an order of chicken teriyaki with sesame I ordered the chicken nuggets. Actually the chicken nuggets were chicken strips accompanied by roast potatoes. They were very generous with the dinner portion of the chicken strips. Came here for a quick lunch and def not disappointed. Eating outside is a lot nicer than I thought (thought it would be super noisy). Carmela is a great find located in the older area of Sevilla. We had an early dinner on the patio. Tortilla with potato and onion was served warm. It was moist and delicious. I added a little Tabasco hot sauce to make it perfect. We had Greek salad, chicken curry, meat and cheese plate, couscous salad, mini hamburger, and potato with dipping sauce. The curry dipping sauce was very good. All items were very tasty and filling. Wait staff was attentive and the price was surprisingly reasonable. I think they changed owner because the menu is different..unfortunately, they also changed the fabulous cheese cake and made it taste like the quiche . Looks like they tried to modernise, but not everything adds up though.. Tataki de carne was absolutely delicious! Quiche was "so so". Hamburguesa is a big dish, not a small tapa, with crunchy & tasty patatas. Sangría had a strange colour, but a good taste (and costs 4,5€ more than in other parts of Sevilla). The food at Carmela was fantastic. We went there for lunch but realized tapas is not available until 1pm. Anytime before that is breakfast. We had a light breakfast Iberian ham sandwich and Nutella crepe. The menu comes with orange juice and coffee. All was fresh and delicious. Absolutely love this place! Very affordable tapas starting at 2.70€! I've been in Sevilla for only 7 days and have eaten here 4 times, I'll be here until the end of the month and will probably eat here at least every other day! The food is great tasting and the serving staff is really friendly to non-Spanish speaking visitors. They're super patient and try their best to understand interpret, and even make recommendations! I've tried a bunch of things but my faves are the Patatas Bravas, Black Rice and Chipirones, Chicken Curry and Rice, and Solomillo al Whisky. Their patatas bravas come with a lot of aioli, but it's super good, and enough to share. The Chipirones with black rice will probably be a solo dish and is really good especially if you like squid! The curry chicken is very similar to Indian curry, so be aware that it's different from coco curry (Japanese) and coconut curry (Thai). And the solomillo al whisky is thin pork pieces with delicious sauce served over potatoes. Everything is worth buying! And their outdoor seating has water misters to keep you cool in the summer time! They have 3 course lunch meals for 9€ that include a drink (water, wine, or beer) and bread! I think they have a sister location close to the CEA center for any student studying abroad in Seville! We stopped here by chance on a day trip to Seville and could not have been happier. We ordered the potatoes beavis, and had to order a second bowl because they went so quickly. This is a great place to eat breakfast or lunch if you are in Sevilla!! When I was in Sevilla, I ate some tapas here for my first lunch in Spain, and the tapas were delicious! Also, I ate breakfast here every morning that I spent in Seville. Everything here is delicious, and the service is very quick. It was located across the street from my hotel. They also serve good coffee, like their Café con leche. The only bad thing is how the employees let homeless people beg customers beg for money at the restaurant if you are outside, and most of the homeless people I encountered were probably faking it, because they wore a different jumpsuit every day, and they did not look cheap.
