A really unique mix of traditional and non-traditional tapas, very tasty bites and really affordable prices considering the amount of food we got (about 66 euros for 10 dishes + drinks)! Some of our favorites were the mushrooms and chorizo, pork & cheese, smoked salmon, and pork cheek. Mushrooms were just a great pairing of textures and flavors. Pork with cheese was really salty and flavorful. They gave a very generous portion of salmon with dill sauce. The pork cheek was super tender although maybe a tad underseasoned. Wow. One of the best meals I've had, perhaps ever. I ate here back in 2017 and I've had this review pended since then, but never got around to completing it. Our favorites were razer clam, egg dish, cigar squid, and fried sardines. Honey pork ribs was good but the pork felt a little dry. Service was terrible. One of the workers (younger gentlemen) was rude. Food was ok but the wait staff could've been friendlier. I don't know if it was just him or if he didn't like English speakers or people of color. But it was offputting. If you don't want to serve certain people just put a sign up. That way we can spend our money at a location deserving. Regarding the food, honey spareribs were a little dry. And the cigarro and artichoke dishes were salty. Great spot for fusion tapas in Seville. The place is a bit small with mostly just the bar and patio seating around dinner time. The place gets super busy so reservations are definitely recommended. Wait staff is great but they definitely get swamped with all the customers. If you need any wine/drink recommendations they can help you choose. The tapas was great, the cigar was reminiscent of an Asian shrimp roll and the honey ribs are similar to dimsum style with the honey sauce. The wait was about 20 minutes, but it gave us some time to check out the area and the Christmas market. We were seated outside and ordered tinto de veranos for the table. We asked our server what he recommended and he gave a few options including the foie gras, the cigar, and the honey ribs. We got an order of each and were very impressed with what we ordered. Absolutely yummy! We did a quick yelp search of the area and found this little gem. About a 15 minute walk from our air b&b we were so excited to try this place until we rounded the corner. It wasn't until then that we realized others knew about this gem also. The restaurant itself is so tiny with only bar seating and a handful of tables out front. So as you can imagine the wait was quite long and it was a first come first serve basis. Just wait around and claim your territory when others were ready to make their leave. ABSOLUTELY worth the wait. From the time I put my name down to the time I was seated was a bit more than an hour, but I grabbed a drink and sat outside, while I waited for my turn. This restaurant serves Michelin quality food at average Joe prices and doesn't skimp on the garnishes. My recommendation would be to arrive either early or late into the dinner service so that you'd have a better chance of getting a table quickly. The must-have: as many reviews have mentioned, the cigar is amazing. I was skeptical at first, but it is so many flavours beautifully blended. Best meal in Sevilla. 4.5 stars and rounded up. Get there early! We arrived for lunch on a Friday mid November exactly when they opened and were able to snag a seat. Within 15 minutes after we arrived all the tables were taken and there was a line out the door. This isn't a big place--bar area in the front and then may 15 or so 2-4 seat tables in the middle and back of the restaurant. Service is fast. You can tell there're used to the rush of diners. Straight to the orders: 1) Razor clams: not bad, but not stand out. 2) Slow-cooked egg on boletus cake: delicious. Can't go wrong with a soft-cooked egg and tasty sauce. 3) Cigar pastry with cuttlefish and algae: we ordered one, then another. Delicate thin exterior pastry with what tasted almost like a squid ink filling. A sea-inspired umami rolled into a cigar. Ingenious. 4) Roasted pork ribs glazed in rosemary honey: ok so it really reminded us of flavors found in sweet and sour ribs in Chinese-American restaurants, but we didn't hate it. What type of carnivorous person could hate honey-glazed ribs? Exactly. 5) Stewed tender, flavoursome pork cheeks: well, the name of the dish says it all. 6) Roasted mackerel with diced tomatoes, onions and pepper salad: I was too full at this point and honestly don't recall how it tasted but it was probably decent. 7) Spanish cured cheese ice cream: you have to like salty ice cream for this. Think a very savory cheesecake blended with ice cream, to me it was a bit grainy due to the cheese texture. Very popular with tourists and be ready to wait for a spot. There's also a full sit down restaurant next to the tapas bar, but the only way the get tapas there is to essentially order a tapas tasting menu (which is quite pricey.). They're famous for mushroom cake with quail egg (yema sobre bizcocho de boletus y vino caramelizado), which was worth all the hype (it was my friend's favorite dish during our entire trip in Southern Spain). Besides that, we also got zucchini charlotte (it's essentially a frittata, skip it), foie-gras mi cuit (you can never go wrong with foie gras), cigar for Becquer (interesting but too salty), octopus (good, and you can't go wrong with octopus), and fried anchovies (good but unremarkable). Unfortunately they were out of the coquinas that I had read rave reviews about. To be honest, this was probably the meal I was most excited about given all the hype, and it ended up being good but not necessarily wowing me. Don't read those bad reviews because everything is based on your waiting time; trust your institution, grab a drink by the bar (they would not even ask for your card to open the tab) and relax, have a talk to your friends you came with, there is no need to rush. When I went on a Sunday, this place was crazy busy especially just prior to their 5pm closing time! There were people sitting on the curb/leaning on the wall, drinking wine, just waiting to get in. Overall, I found the food a bit too sweet for my liking. The egg yolk dish sat on top of this cake that was sweet. And the "cigar" was stuffed with a sweet, cream cheese. Again, unexpected and too sweet especially since I was expecting something savoury. Pork cheek, also in a slightly sweet whisky sauce, was cooked tenderly as with the octopus. Food was good, but not great/amazing/"can't wait to come back!". Presentation was on point! Tip: If you like savoury more, perhaps it's best to stick with the meat dishes. Solid place to get tapas and it's relatively affordable (especially since you're getting very creative tapas made with high quality ingredients). I got 3 tapas, a beer, and a wine for about 13 Euros. Most tapas ran about 3 Euros or so. I must have accidentally timed it right as there was no line when I arrived (the inside was bustling with customers though). Yes, try the cigarro tapas (cuttlefish) - it's the one that's cigar shaped and even dusted with realistic looking ash. It's unique, makes for an interesting photo, and tastes good to boot. The slow cooked egg was OK - it was pretty, but the taste didn't stand out for me. I would still recommend ordering it just to try it. Lastly, I got the ribs - it was tasty and held a nice glaze, but I did feel the meat was slightly tough. Presentation was excellent on all dishes - it was fancy without the fancy prices.
