    Virgin mango margarita
    Cat S.

Came here for my brother's birthday. We had the table side guac, and the auntie who made it seasoned it beautifully! Perfect balance, please try it if you go! I had enchiladas and they were delicious, going to go back again soon! Great portions, and I had leftovers. Had a virgin margarita, would have been so good if I had a regular one, but it was a good size for good value.

I had the best time at La Tolteca yesterday. We met up with friends for cocktails and satisfying snacks, and a Portugal game just happened to be on the TV, so I felt like the Universe smiled on me there. I've been a fan of the Portuguese national team for at least a decade. How is it that Cristiano Ronaldo never ages? Our waiter was amazing, just the perfect level of flirtatious and efficient. The dining room is small and filled up around us, but I never felt like I was being rushed so they could turn over the table. There was quite a wait by the time we left. I feel kinda bad that those people didn't arrive a tad bit earlier to take advantage of the Happy Hour specials. Jeremy and I had blended margaritas (half price!) - raspberry for him, peach for me. Sometimes when I taste another person's choice, I lament that I chose poorly, but this time around I made the right choice. Jeremy, who has a great story about getting sick from drinking too much peach tea in his youth, also thinks that he made the right choice. I love when that happens. And then we shared a chicken quesadilla and chorizo/chicken nachos (no lettuce). Both excellent. But I gotta say that the REAL hit at the table was the white sauce brought for dipping the corn chips. What is that!? It's probably salsa blanco, concocted for the white diners and I am so okay with that. The salsa is also great; I added that to our nachos. Our friends seemed pleased with their selections as well. I was so glad when one ordered the Cal Ripken burrito because... I was born in the 70s. I remember when Cal Ripken Jr was hot sh!t. My grandfather worked at the stadiums, and met CRJ several times and was not impressed. So I can't help but laugh in my soul about CRJ because I respected my grandfather WAY more and always will. I miss that old man so much sometimes, and I'm glad Cal is out there being honored with things such as his own burrito so I can chuckle to myself about how my grandfather would have had a fit. We cleared our plates, and were still allowed to lollygag, which I appreciate. I would so recommend this place.

We came in with a large party and they accommodated us right away. The place is clean and lively. We started off with margaritas. They were great. Then I shared salsa, queso, street tacos with chicken, fajitas.. everything was delicious. Tacos were a bit bland but I added salsa verde to enhance the taste. We also got table side guacamole. I highly recommend that. They make you fresh guac at your table. Service was amazing, and super prompt considering we were a large party. Our servers never rushed us, and were very patiently taking our orders. So special shout-out for them. I recommend this place if you're in the mood of some good and tasty Mexican food .

This was my first time here as I was in the area I wanted nachos so I ordered here. I enjoyed my food. I like that it comes with chips and salsa both red and white. The guy at the front I didn't get his name was friendly. I will go back for sure.

Does this location have the Monday night $9.99 fajita special?

Churchville location does Bel Air has these Happy Hour specials…

Are there TVs here? I'll be in town and want to go somewhere for a drink and catch the Canelo fight this Saturday May 4th.

Yes, there are a couple TVs but the volume is usually low or muted because they also play music.

We arrived at 4:50 and didn't get seated because the hostess was juggling phone calls. Our server didn't arrive at the table until 5:02 and we asked about happy hour. Bottom line we didn't beat the bewitching hr./5pm. They do not offer chips and salsa as a welcome snack. Their food over our past dinings has never been great. Tonight I had a pastor burrito and my wife had a shrimp burrito. Both dishes were meeh with a rubbery like tortilla. The best dish we have had is their bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers. We're going to try different dining but if you go, Get those poppers.

Our waitress was friendly and quick enough, but it did seem to take awhile for our food to come out once ordered and a while for the check when we were done.. (They were busy not packed). It is nice they serve a breakfast/brunch menu - not a lot of Mexican places do that. I ordered the Pollo con Rajas. The onion cream sauce was fantastic, black beans great, rice (arroz blanco) okay- it had great flavor and I don't mind a little crunch, but there's a fine line between crunch and dried out, and this was getting close. My husband said he couldn't complain about his Enchiladas Verde, but he didn't have any glowing response either. Overall, the food isn't bad, it's that it's a bit overpriced for what you get. Free chips and salsa (it is $5, and the chips are fried leftover flour tortillas that either puff and crumble to bits, or burn), or even throwing in a few flour tortillas with a meal with about 5oz of chicken if I'm being generous, would round out the meal, and make you feel you got more of your moneys worth overall. That said, I didn't leave hungry.

I think my husband enjoyed his burger although it was pretty heavy. The bathroom had half a dozen stalls and was fairly clean. The food isn't cheap. A fountain soda was about $4. The fried ice cream was $8. The service was decent. I'm not sure how authentic the food is but we had an overall good time and would probably be back, budget willing.

We were very lucky; as soon as we sat down, the place filled up with customers and there were many waiting to be seated. Our waitress came over and took our drink order and we asked for a little time to place our appetizer order. When the waitress returned, we placed our order and she asked us to place our main course order. We asked if we could wait until she brought the appetizer. She never returned. We waited and watched as she continued to go from table to table taking orders, delivering orders and occasionally looking our way. Finally, the owner came to our table and took our order. Our food was brought to us by the waitress and that was the last we saw of her. Still, people waiting for table seating. Other customers finishing their meals and we wait. And wait. And wait. Finally, the owner comes back over to us as our waitress watches. We told him that we have been waiting for a box and the check for over twenty minutes. I guess she thought that we made her wait to take our order, that she would make us wait for our dinner. The owner apologized, brought a box and the check. And the waitress watched. Her passive-aggressive behavior was amazing. As we were leaving, the owner apologized again. We have always enjoyed eating at his restaurant. The owner is such a hard-working gentleman and the food is so good. It is a shame that his business is being ruined by this waitress. As good as the food is, the service was horrible. I can honestly say we will not be back.
