First time here. Immediately the ambiance is perfectly welcoming. The staff are super nice. Lots of options in the menu. I chose a virgin strawberry daiquiri and this came immediately with the chips and salsa. Nice flavor of the chips just wish they were warm and more salt. I ordered the Special # 9 with chicken. And I had it upgraded with lettuce, guacamole, sour cream and tomato. It came with a taco, an enchilada and a quesadilla. All of the food tasted properly well seasoned and crispy. However my taco came with beef not chicken. My friend ordered the shrimp quesadilla and she didn't care for the shrimp. But let's be realistic here, where are they getting the shrimp. It's probably previously frozen. Other than those minor flaws I would come back here again. read more

El Salto is a favorite of many who Live in the area. Went to dinner early (5:30) and the place was mostly empty. The entrees were extremely affordable and incredibly delicious. The margaritas are so good! Service was friendly and very attentive. Food arrived quickly and everyone cleaned their plates. Came here for lunch/dinner with a group of friends. This place was our midway point, and we were looking to try a new place. We were seated immediately, and our serve was so nice! I hate I can't recall her name, but I believe it was Dalaliah. I didn't get any alcoholic drinks, but my friends did and they logged it; they were mango/strawberry margaritas. We ordered tacos, fajitas, enchiladas and chicken tenders/cheeseburgers for the kids. The food was very good & actually came out at good prices. Restaurant was very clean, bathrooms were clean and it was just a really nice establishment. If I'm ever in white marsh and looking to have some good food, I would stop by again. read more

The service was 4 stars due to the very friendly waitress. She was tipped accordingly. Decor is very good for a Mexican joint. My wife and daughter both ordered burritos and enjoyed them. I ordered the chimichanga and a tamale con pollo. The chimichanga was bland and the tamale was previously frozen which made it dry (waitress confirmed). They also covered the tamale with cheese and shredded chicken which elevated the price without adding flavor or value (within the context of a good tamale). I will return to El Salto to give them another chance but only once. If they are taking short cuts in the kitchen, it will show and I'll let you know. read more

I went here with my dad and the staff was so nice and the food came out really quick. My dad ordered the #22 which was a chicken burrito a soft taco and rice and beans and I got the fajita quesadilla which was so good. They have a great atmosphere in here and outdoor seating when the weather is nice. My quesadilla was so good my dad was jealous lol they were also very accommodating to modifications as I was easily able to request no beans on my quesadilla read more

El Salto has finally opened! This location is extremely busy but they do their best to accommodate everyone. It's not many authentic Mexican food restaurants in the area but this is one.. Having recently moved to the area, we decided to give El Salto a try. The atmosphere and service made for a nice evening out. Menu had reasonably priced options, including good dinner combos for under $10. My #3 plate included a loaded beef enchilada topped with delicious sauce, a large Chile relleno stuffed with cheese and a crispy beef taco. My husband had the #1 with cheese enchiladas, a taco and rice. All good!! Our frozen margaritas were good with the meal, although we've had better. Nice to find a spot that offers food like the Tex-Mex we get back home in San Antonio, with complimentary chips and salsa included. read more

Other than the drinks. Taco Bell has better cuts of meat for fajitas. Real Fajitas, don't come watery and you can see cuts of meat not strings of chicken and a shriveled up shrimp that was the size of cup of noodles shrimp. Queso and guacamole were good but that's about it. read more

I really like the new location of El Salto. It feels a lot roomier than the Parkville location. The food tastes just as good as the older location. Only issue I had was with the service. They are all super friendly but you're not really assigned to one waiter so you will have multiple people waiting on you. It got difficult to track down someone to for a refill on chips and drinks. Other than that, all was great and I am excited to return! read more

Came here for the first time on Saturday 1.25.20 around 7:30 for dinner. We were seated right away which was a pleasant surprise. Our server came over immediately for our drink order. For dinner I ordered the fajitas el salto (with chicken, steak, chorizo, and shrimp). The meat and shrimp were very tender and flavorful. The sautéed onions and peppers were cooked perfectly. Overall I have no complaints about my experience here and I'll definitely be coming back. read more

We were pleasantly surprised by El Salto's new location. The restaurant itself is beautiful! The food was great!!! Generous portions which is a huge plus specially when you want to share with others. Our set backs: (minus 2 stars) we had to be very specific as to what type of tacos we wanted, the one taco that is accompanied with the combination plates is fried with ground beef. If you want street style with carne asada that's an additional $1. -The garnishes (lettuce, sour cream and guacamole) are an additional $1.95 that should already come with the meal (whether tacos, enchiladas, burritos etc). -The service was overall friendly (ok), we had separate waitresses come and give us our food at the end it was hard to track down who our waitress was. -The michelada was not good at all, lots of mix and the whole beer was not used nor given as it usually is in other Mexican restaurants. We have come back once for the large portions, and continue to go back. We will just not have the michelada :) read more

2nd visit where everything was bad. We're done. Screwed up our order... twice. No effort to apologize and didn't come back to the table to check on us until 5 minutes after we were done eating. Then got the bill and we're charged for an extra meal and there were only a few tables so it's not like they were busy. Food was BLAH! one of our items was a burrito which only had beef in it, basically the same as the low-flavor enchilada they also served. Absolute worse lunch we've had in years. My mother and I swung by for lunch one day because we wanted Mexican food and didn't want to go to Taco Bell. The menu for this place is huge so we had a time trying to pick what to eat, but ended up settling on the lunch portions. I ordered the chicken fajitas and I'm glad I settled on the lunch portion because this was huge. I couldn't finish my food and ended up taking it home. I wish I'd gotten the vegetables fajitas. The chicken was bland, and so was the guacamole. My mother complained that her tacos had too much meat in them and not much else. I ordered a horchata to drink and enjoyed that, we didn't end up being charged for our drinks. We sat outside and no one was there, our waitress ended up forgetting about us and never refilled our drinks, nor did she ask us if we liked the food. Granted, we were the only ones sitting outside. Perhaps it'll be better if we just came for drinks, as the food was mediocre. It was cheap though! If you want cheap food for girl's night then this may be your new spot. read more

Think they have a few kinks to work out. My son has an avocado allergy and we asked for no guacamole in the burrito and they put it in. Manager was very accommodating. Some meals like the burrito California was spicier than it is at the Parkville location but otherwise food was really good. I got the Camarones El Salto. It was amazing. It's nice to find a mexican meal that doesn't make me feel stuffed when I leave. Will definitely get it again. Husband swears by the chile rellenos. read more

I was happy that chips & salsa were included with the meal, the females bathroom was very clean & smelled nice, but the food was just okay. I ordered one of the burritos, it really was a huge meal as listed, so I took most of it home, but to me it just didn't have much of a taste almost bland- as well as the salsa it was very watery very similar to taco love's salsa.
