This place is incredibly dingy and if you park in the wrong place. you'll have to walk up a flight of questionable stairs to get to the front. The lighting does make the interior look quite dismal but it's actually quite cute and the incredibly drawn murals would look amazing anywhere else. The dining area was completely empty on a Monday night and I could barely feel the ac. I asked about it and got the most noncommittal grunt from the waitress/bartender/hostess that she would check on it. I almost left but the many dings I heard from the electronic device told me that they do brisk online food orders so I took a deep breath and stayed. My chips and Salsa were fresh and tasty then I had a delicious shrimp quesadilla. The margarita was strong but quite flavorful. I waited 4 hours before writing this and the quesadilla is still with me. Therefore I'm not sure what the one person who got stomach upset was on about. I am new to Edgewood and have been homesick, missing all of my usual food spots. Being disappointed with everything out here I had to try Tacos Tijuana. The staff are friendly and quick to seat you and get your food out. The food is amazing, I always go for Pupusa's of if I see them on a menu and they have the best pupusa's in Edgewood. They may have the only Pupusa's in Edgewood. The Arroz con Pollo is my go to dish and makes me melt with every bite. The chips are fresh and the pico de galo I basically drink the bowl like Beast drinks his bowl of soup!! I love this place. Might be the only restaurant in Edgewood worth going to on a daily basis! They have a restaurant side and a bar side with a huge dance floor. They also have additional seating like a hall if the party is big enough. The food was really tasty, a good mix between American and Mexican cuisine which was surprising, but delightful and they did both well. A quick jump off I-95 and we stumbled across this gem. We were looking for a quick hit at Chick-fil-A but impulsively u-turned for the festive window paintings of Tacos Tijuana. The place was empty except for the bartender... We were quickly seated and offered a basket of cold tortilla chips and salsa. Service was good and the waiter/bartender offered suggestions when I was unable to decide on which menu item to order. I went with the Grande Chimichanga and it was delicious. My partner had the Chimichanga house special which was a little salty...But we have noticed this commonality between authentic Mexican restaurants when it comes to their red sauce. The prices were very reasonable for portion sizes and their salsa con queso was creamy and flavorful. Another bonus was the bottle of Valentina Salsa Picante placed on our table. My favorite hot sauce of all time...Imported from Guadalajara. We plan to return the next time we find ourselves traveling in this area. read more

Awesome! Authentic! The guacamole is fantastic. They make it fresh, at your table, in front of you. The tongue tacos were amazing. The total bill was $30, including the tip. Extensive vegetarian menu. A week has passed. I just called in another order. The person that answered didn't speak english. Stupid people would complain, but it tells me that this is the type of hispanic restaurant that caters to hispanic customers. That's the textbook definition of "authenticity." El horrible'... Went to lunch there, ordered water, received a sprite, ordered refried beans, received no refried beans, quesadilla (limp and soggy) had about 20 shreds of cheese in it. I have not been to this Mexican restaurant in a very long time, maybe four years. Since then it has gone under new ownership. We have been on an Al Pastor taco binge lately so we stopped in. The place is very nice and clean. However, it is in a hotel off of I-95. The day we went it was very quiet and not crowded (except for the nearby bar showing the Ravens game). I got the Pastor Taco platter consisting of three tacos, beans, and pico. The tacos were heavy filled with the most piquant, tasty pastor meat than I have had yet. The tortillas were warmed and crisped around the edges magnificently. The beans were a little different than you would expect for what is normally a throwaway side. A nice sauce surrounding tender charros. The server was polite, fast, and unobtrusive. I highly recommend this jewel of an authentic Mexican-Salvadoran cuisine in south Harford County. And if you are traveling 95 near MD exit 77, pull off and mange. read more

I thought the food was average at best. The outside temperature was in the mid nineties. I'm not certain if they were having AC issues but it felt about 85 degrees inside the restaurant. As someone from the southwest us I'd say I know pretty good Mexican food. My wife is from southern Mexico, and she definitely knows good Mexican food. The food here is great! I haven't had better in this state, unless she is cooking. Yes, the new location is still lacking a little ambiance, but they are trying. If you go to a Mexican restaurant and very little to no Spanish is spoken, in my opinion, your not at a real Mexican restaurant. So expect there to be some language barriers here, but here's a tip for you on how to work around that... Don't be an ass and you'd be surprised how far that will take you. Oh and no alcohol yet, but they are working on getting the licence, complain to Harford county, not the restaurant. Anyways, I've had a little bit if everything on the menu I love the tacos, the tamales, the steak, heck everything here is great. I've been to oyamel on D.C. and I'd rather go here any day of the week, and twice on Sunday than go to oyamel. Hubs and I are always on a the prowl for a good lunch spot to meet and decided to meet here. We'd had food at their old location and liked it, so I expected the food to at least be delicious and authentic. Which it was.... mostly. We arrived at the restaurant at 12:15 on a Monday. There were 3 other tables of diners . We waited at the host table for a near 5 minutes before we were acknowledged and seated. We were seated for quite some time before we were brought ice cold chips and salsa. Sorry if I prefer my chips fresh and hot - I still ate them even though they were cold and only so so. The salsa was nice - 3.5 out of 5 stars. A bit of a kick to it. It seemed like an eternity before we received our drinks. Our server could not have made it more obvious that he didn't care about us as customers, or even people for that matter. Husband ordered the quesadilla ranchero and I ordered a chile rellano, a pork belly taco, and a beef tongue taco. 2 of the 3 other tables of diners paid and left, while the third table was done but sat there eating ice waiting for his check. Our server/host never reappeared to offer more chips or drink refills. We had alot of lonely time to look around. The walls are a horrific green. The table and chairs were ugly and dated. The temperature is kept in the 60s I think. The place was deserted, and awkwardly silent. I felt like my husband and I were alone in the cafeteria of a mental institution or a shut down Ponderosa. Our food took FOREVER. Had a piping hot plate of deliciousness arrived, I would have written off the wait but when it finally arrived it was cold. Not warm. Actually cold. The chili rellano had cooled to room temperature at the ice cold sour cream they dressed it with had warmed to cold. My tacos had also cooled. My husband received a cold quesadilla rellano - ate it anyway despite it not being what he ordered. The food tasted delicious - too bad it sucked. The price was right but the awkward, not good service we received made it a very unenjoyable experience that we really won't be in any hurry to repeat for awhile. I looked at the bar and it was empty, no beer or liquor. I asked for a beer anyways and was confirmed they have no alcohol. After serving our food (which took forever), the waiter never came back to check on us. 30 minutes passes by and he finally comes back to ask if our food was okay. Uh yeah... We've finished eating like 20 minutes ago. We ask for to go boxes. 15 minutes later... Still no boxes. With no one else in the restaurant, I'd expect prompt and speedy service. Literally have been here for over an hour when we were only expecting to be here maybe 45 minutes. Will not be coming back. Food was mediocre. Service was the worst. Oh not to mention... When we walked in to be seated, a regular customer at the bar had to go knock on kitchen door to get anyone's attention. Don't come here. It looks like an old Chinese restaurant. Update! Finally got our box.. Had to ask for the check. (Wouldn't you think if we'd asked for a box, we'd be ready for the check?) Anyway, a different server brought our check. Never came back. New location, same fantastic authentic food. I wrote a review for their old location but it seems to have disappeared. We only ordered carryout so I can't really speak to the dining experience. I'm not sure if it's the same type of service they used at their old location, which was friendly but minimal. The food is the star of this place. If you're looking to be pampered by a server during your whole meal, this is probably not the place for you. (Again, that's assuming it's the same service style as the old location, which I can't confirm or deny.) But if you want delicious, authentic food, I have yet to find another place in the area that even comes close. They just moved to this location 3 weeks ago, so they appear to still be stretching their legs in the new space. The lobby/bar(?) area is pretty sparse. The dining room looks completed, though. There was Spanish-language music playing when I went in to pick up our delicious tacos, so maybe that other reviewer came in before the sound system was ready. The employees were wearing matching uniforms which is something different from the old location. Speaking of location, it is a little odd. It faces away from the street toward the motel it is adjacent to. I wasn't sure where to park at first. As far as the broader scope of location goes, it couldn't be easier to reach as it is RIGHT off of 95 on Rte 24. Makes it very easy to zip down there from our house in Havre de Grace. As for the 5-star review, it's the food. It's just so fresh tasting and delicious. The 3 Taco Plate can't be beaten. I usually go with a mix of chicken and chorizo. Always topped with fresh chopped onion, fresh cilantro, sometimes radishes and sometimes not. Maybe that depends on availability? Double tortilla for each taco. Sides of mild and hot sauce, both very flavorful. I can't really speak for much more of the menu because the tacos are so fantastic that I can't bring myself to stray from them. So again, if you're looking for a fancy night out and want to be doted upon by a wait staff, you're not going to get that here. They are friendly, just not super attentive.
