I placed an online order at 1:01pm EDT for their lunch special, only one meal. I paid online and then by 1:45pm when I had not received a confirmation I drove to the store to see if it was ready for pick up. 40 minutes for one meal is more than enough time to wait. I tried calling and no one answered, it went to voicemail. When I went to the store they had not even processed my order. The restaurant was not busy so I'm not sure why they didn't process it until I showed up to ask about it. Once I was there and spoke to someone they processed the order and I had to wait about 10 minutes for it to be put together. My order looks like it was thrown together quickly and the sauce for the enchilada is all inside the bag and handles. I usually love la tolteca and never have issues but this was super inconvenient and it's unfortunate that now I am most likely not going to go anymore. Nice restaurant with a huge menu. I like the Burrito Azteca which is large enough to save half for another meal. You can get your choice of grilled chicken or steak or a combo of both meats. It has lots of veggies and comes with Spanish rice and refried beans. I was little surprised that there was a bit of a kick since I don't really like spicy food. But then I didn't really notice the heat after a few bites, so I guess it was fine. Service is friendly and the ambience is nice to hang out and chat with friends while dining. read more

I think this place has just grown on me over time. The food is solid, the service is relatively quick, and it's got a quirky ambiance that you can't beat in the area. There's better Mexican food, but this is the place to go if you want waiter service instead of a counter-fare. Most of their menu is solid, I've never had anything bad from here. read more

Margarita sucks. Food sucks. Don't come here. Marg is out of a machine so don't expect flavor or tequila. I added a shot of rail silver & it still sucked. This La Tolteca in Aberdeen makes the best skinny margaritas and fulfilling guacamole. The service is quick and friendly. The bathrooms could be kept up better. Have the prices increased that much!!? We ordered half of what we've ordered in the past and expected to pay $30-40 for two drinks and two appetizers (wings and guac) but the bill was in the $70's. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant but I am giving it 5 stars because only someone who can afford to eat at a five star restaurant can afford to eat here anymore. read more

Beautiful Mexican restaurant!! There are multiple locations around Aberdeen and this is my 1st time eating here. I came in with my coworkers for lunch on a Thursday and everyone ordered something. This location wasn't busy when we walked in so we were seated right away. There were no complaints. Everything was made well, especially the fresh guacamole! The waiter was patient and took care of us well. The food came out all at once but within 15 minutes. We had a party of 8 people and no ones food was late. I'm not fond of restaurant water here in Aberdeen though. It tastes like clorox so I brought my own water bottle. The ambiance was gorgeous with the many colorful paintings and cultural music. We all enjoyed our experience and some of our group are actually return customers. I would come here again for sure. read more

The negative is the patronage...if you choose to bring young children out to dinner, please recognize you are NOT in your living room. Arrived after 9 pm and the establishment was closing at 10 pm so ordered usual Lime Margarita right away before even looking at the menu. I had visited same name units in PA and also Maryland before. I always take a booth when traveling one or more in my company. They had Vegetarian selection on page 2 so after few chips and dips and Sips of Margarita settled on my choice on menu. Late Thursday evenings are are I guess quite times. Some college girls group was having great time behind my booths. I checked this restaurant out over the weekend with a friend. I know that it's a chain and had always been wanting to try it, but as someone who lived on the west coast for years, I'm very very picky about my Mexican food. When I entered the restaurant, there wasn't a host at the stand, so I opted to sit at the bar while I waited for my friend. It took a while to be greeted and longer to get a menu and my order taken, but when the bartender did come around, I ordered a mango margarita and shrimp quesadillas. The margarita was delicious, and the quesadilla was decent albeit not what I was expecting when it came to presentation or flavor. The quesadilla came with Spanish rice which was delicious. All in all, not sure that I would ever go back for more than a cheap happy hour as the drinks were great, but the food left something to be desired. read more

Fast service and good prices. Very friendly staff. This is a crowd favorite for work lunches. The location is great since it's right off of 95. Free chips, white dip and salsa and they will give you refills if needed. My favorites are the carne asada street tacos, but I went with the Mexican burrito for lunch yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of meat for a lunch portion. I was in the area, found this on Yelp, and decided to have lunch. The service was good, and I have no complaints at all. This is one of the best steak fajita platters I've ever had. My wife ordered the street tacos, and she enjoyed her meal just as much as I enjoyed mine. On today, Thursday, November 14, 2024. I ordered two take out meals. One was a vegetarian fajita meal the other shrimp chicken fajita meal. We arrived around 2:30 PM paid and received our meals. Once we arrived home, we began eating and noticed that the shrimp, chicken, chips and vegetables Were dripping with grease. Very messy. also, I ordered a vegetable meal and was not offered black beans like the other locations. I tried to call later, but, was placed on hold and no one ever came back to the phone. Even though I didn't get the pico de gallo. Instead, I got a slice of tomato (LOL - funny but true). Some substitute... But it really didn't matter bc the dish was just THAT amazing!!! This place is right off the highway so we thought it'd be a good place to pick up food on the drive back to New Jersey. The first time we received our Burritos Mexicanos to go, it was assembled and covered in sauce without any silverware. I brought it back and they insisted on remaking it. They remade it twice--once when the burritos were still covered in sauce and once where all the components were in separate containers--despite CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS that we would be eating their food while driving in the car. Therefore: I cannot assemble it and my boyfriend at the wheel cannot eat it. And then your manager has the nerve to give me a look and gesture toward the food as if *I'm* the one wasting food when I ask for my more than justified refund? It s was taco Tuesday so I decided to go to a Mexican spot. I had tacos on my mind but it never fail, I always deviate from my own plans. I ordered the chicken chimichanga with everything on the side. When it came out I was a little reluctant because the chimichanga's looked like 2 enchiladas, I normally see them basically look like a deep fried burrito, but after I taste them I was surprised. So this time I tried the #102 Grande Special One chalupa, one chile relleno, one burrito, one beef enchilada and one beef taco. Served with Spanish rice and fried beans. EVERYTHING was so good. The beef in the chalupa, burrito, and taco was very finely ground, which threw me off a little (the texture) but it was actually pretty good. Texture was kind of like potted meat I hate to say, but tasted much better lol. The chile relleno was not spicy surprisingly. It was very cheesy and I'd def order this meal again.
