We had come to this location for over 15 years when it was a real Spanish restaurant but the owner sold... now it's under a new name... The new owners invested a lot in "looks" but they lack the luster. and now it's Cuban restaurant posing as a Spaniard restaurant. The food is terrible. We took a few bites and asked for the check... The food was quite good although a couple of portions were very limited, including the octopus. What is really shocking is the prices, extremely expensive for what it is: a horizontal mall restaurant. I ordered a basic Don Julio reposado (not the fancy aged one) and it was $23. We ordered 5 tapas, 3 kids meals and paella for 2 adults. The bill with tax and tip $350. The place was pretty much empty, only a couple of tables. I can see why this place as good as it can be price/value is not worth. Owner: adjust food and liquor prices accordingly and you'll have success! Words can't begin to fathom the amount of disappointment my family and I had at this establishment. We came on a Saturday so they had live music which was amazing, the singers all sang great and were very interactive with the customers. But we sat down and after one hour of being seated nobody brought us any water or asked if we had wanted anything to drink. We ordered appetizers and they were subpar to say the least but the food was terrible and that's being generous with my words. The fish smelled and tasted extremely fishy, the chicken was low quality as well as the filet mignon. The salmon was practically raw and the kids didn't even touch their chicken tenders/fry's. We ended up going to La Taberna De Ignacio-Pinecrest because of the previous Spanish restaurant. A very disappointing experience. The ambiance is exceptionally impersonal and sterile (not pleasing at all) for fine dining --- definitely, this restaurant isn't fine dining. Although the food was ok (just ok), the unappealing atmosphere and loud music killed the whole experience. Service is good - the food is overpriced: $12.00 for a small, insipid dessert (again...this isn't fine dining). Unfortunately, we had an unsatisfactory experience. We won't be going back. Very disappointing. To begin, we ordered 3 different starters (aka tapas) , soup, and a main course, and here is how it went. The octopus on the grill should have been grilled more. It was very chewy. The sausage in wine sauce was actually quite good. The spinach crocketts were also good. My wife had the bean soup, (fabada) which was lack luster, and I had a very, very dry rabbit. So much so I could only take one bite. Even the waiter as he was placing it in our to take, at this point for my dog, noticed how dry it was however, he couldn't refrain from saying, "it's one of our most popular dishes". I don't see how??? Note, you will be charged an automatic 18% gratuity, which I'm fine with when service is good, and on point, however, not when a server has to be asked to bring water and we had already finished dinner mind you. Lastly, in a rather feeble attempt to try to save face over the dry rabbit, they offered us a port liquor from a screw top bottle, "red flag", after dinner and after notifying them about the Saharan sun dried rabbit, and it literally was a cheap sweet alcoholic beverage that I wouldn't drink on my worst days or serve to my mother in law... Don't waste your money on this place. If you're looking for really good Spanish (Spain) food, I recommend elsewhere... There is a very good Middle Eastern restaurant a few doors down from this one called Shaddi, that I can recommend.. read more

The Pinecrest edition of La Taberna de Ignacio offers great value. The Fidehua of seafood is excellent and a great value under $25. They have a great Catalan chef who prepares many delicious dishes of Spanish cuisine. The croquetas are quite good, almost as they are in Spain, and so is the Pan de Cristal with ibérico ham. The service is excellent and cordial. They have very nice live music shows during the weekend and reasonable prices on drinks and wines. It is at a stripmall so it is difficult for them to portray a high-end image. The advantage is that parking is free. I would recommend that they use white tablecloths to glamorize the decor a bit. They do use them on special occasions. In sum, this is a place to enjoy very good Spanish cuisine at fair prices. read more

It's a nice restaurant, clean and with an excellent service, but I think its overpriced for the quality of food and the small portion size. Especially the wine. A regular standard serving of a glass of wine is usually 6oz, not 3. You cant pay $14 for less than 3 ounces of wine. Not even in fancy restaurants you get such small servings. read more

Overpriced menu, taste of food wasn't authentic Spanial, we were taken when we saw an $500+ bill no alcohol 3 of us order fresh lemonade and order a refill, we got charged $8 for each refill. Service was terrible, we had to as for water refills, empty plates were stock up and not picked up & we were the only table in the restaurant from 12:15 to 3:00 pm that we left. The service was excellent. However if you're looking for authentic paella then this is not the place. The bacalao croquettes and tortilla tapas were excellent however the ham croquettes were pretty average. The restaurant ambiance was good.
