I think this was the viagra
Glenda P.

Came for a family dinner, they brought us upstairs...we had the whole upstairs to ourselves and the service was superb. Our waiter was extremely attentive, they gave us focaccia and tiramisu on the house! The ambiance was cozy, it felt like the holidays in there and they played some oldies music. The food was amazing so I will be back ; )

Wine and cheese tasting class
Helen S.

Came for a wine and cheese tasting/lesson corporate event. The class was at the bar in the middle of this section and an intimate setting, about a dozen seats around the entire bar. The wine and cheese instructors were great, going into the history and journey of their selections. My favorite ones were the pairing based on Sicily. They were extremely friendly and answered a lot of questions. Love Eataly!

Trenette Pesto
Lacy S.

Service was excellent, even during a busy time. Wine recommendation was an added bonus. The salmone crudo was fresh with a nice helping of capers. My biggest complaint was the pasta with pesto. Somehow they have managed to create a bland pesto. It's baffling because it looks delicious but once it hits your taste buds you are seriously disappointed. Absolutely no flavor. Needs a healthy dose of salt or more Romano for flavor? And the potatoes were crunchy--undercooked. Meh. Definitely will not return, let's try a different Eataly spot next time!

Burrata
Bill P.

This is a rating for the Il Bar in Piazza area within Eataly. Il Bar is separated into two small bars located on Eataly's first floor. Their menu is limited to a few mixed drinks and small plates. They do not serve pizza or pasta dishes. We went here on 2 separate nights looking for drinks and a late evening snack. Our servers were Luis Q and Misael T who were both friendly, pleasant, attentive, and helpful. I had their featured Negronis both times: a standard Negroni and the Milano-Torino version. On both visits we had selections from the cured meats & cheeses section of the menu. On the first night we had the Burrata. It was prepared and served with olive oil, sea salt, and grilled bread. On the second night we had the Gran Tagliere. It was a large board with the chef's selection of classic Italian cured meats and cheeses, with seasonal accompaniments. It had a generous assortment of meats and cheeses. It included fresh grapes and an apricot spread. It was great. I can't wait to return to NYC and Eataly.

It was my first time there but I was expecting the menu I saw online, not this new one. We tried 2 drinks: one inspired by Turkish figs and one inspired by lemons and the "Miracle Berry", which inverts your palate and turns sour into sweet! I really enjoyed both drinks. The figs one came with a sweet fig granola bite and the lemon one really did taste sweet after eating the "Miracle Berry"! I'd definitely come back to try their many other drinks.

I liked how they organized the menu by country/geography to facilitate an understanding of the flavor profiles. I got two of the date & fig-flavored smoked whisky drinks and it was a well made, balanced, and very good. Not cheap at some $25 or something, but middle of Manhattan with some creative ingredients means I guess it is what it is. Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. One the one hand I get it, on the other hand you've got two paying customers on a slow night.

The unmarked entrance and doorbell immediately set the tone, and once inside it feels like you stepped out of Manhattan and into a dark, old New York cocktail lounge. The velvet seating, curtains, low lighting, and little private nooks make the whole place feel intimate without being gimmicky. That atmosphere is very much intentional. The Chelsea location is the original Raines Law Room and is built around that hidden speakeasy experience. The cocktails were beautifully presented, and I liked that this felt like a place where you could actually sit with friends and have a conversation rather than compete with loud music. We also ordered some meat, cheese, olives, and crackers for the table, which was perfect alongside the drinks without turning the night into a full dinner. What stood out most to me was how cohesive everything felt. The drinks, glassware, lighting, service style, and decor all fit the same mood. It feels refined and special without trying too hard. Pay special attention to the bathroom wall art. Definitely not an inexpensive night out, but for a true New York cocktail bar experience, I thought Raines Law Room was absolutely worth visiting. This would be especially good for a date night or drinks with a small group.

Patent Pending is has such cool speakeasy vibes, think dimmed lighting and candles at each table in a very intimate space. Our plan was to get wine and a cheese board however, the kitchen was closed due to a family emergency. We could only order chips or bar nuts with our drinks. Disappointing but what can you do? We ordered both the chips and bar nuts to go along with our drinks. And instead of wine, I opted for a cocktail! They have a pretty extensive cocktail menu with all these crazy concoctions. I went for the Strange Magic which was citrusy and refreshing. I'll definitely be back to visit again and hopefully next time will get the cheese board :)

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

The well-crafted cocktails present thoughtful riffs on the classics, inventive without being showy. While the dim lighting and intimate atmosphere practically beg for a secret rendezvous (there's an ostrich involved), I met up with a friend for the decidedly unscandalous purpose of doing our intention setting for the year over libations and nibbles. I opted for a pastel sour while my companion asked for a drink called The Last Word - it was no longer on the menu but they obligingly made it for us anyway. The menu consists of mostly small plates and is seafood forward, but we shared a petite dish of steak frites, tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. Our server was very sweet but service was slow on the night, and by the time we received our utensils the food was cold. However we were not rushed and were able to linger a bit to finish our conversation. For those who savor finely concocted cocktails paired with fresh raw bar offerings in a salon-like setting, this is the spot for you.
