Beef Chimichanga and Tostada salad

We stopped in for dinner around 730pm on a Tuesday evening. The wait was about 15 minutes long so not bad considering the location. The service was very slow and the food was average. The bar looked like fun and I might venture back to sit at the bar, watch a ball game and have a few margaritas.

This place was above and beyond the normal Mexican restaurant. While it's in a busy area, we got seated right away and our waitress, Edith was AMAZING. I got a strawberry daiquiri, which was delicious and a combo plate. They don't skimp on food and you actually get your moneys worth. Their sweet tea was perfect, everything was fresh and hot and affordable. The restaurant is nice because it's up to date and not dark inside and red brick everywhere. It's got a cute little porch area too. The ambiance overall is really cool. Easily one of my new favorite Mexican restaurants in the area.

Stopped by for lunch during the week. The restaurant is huge, with lots of seating and very modern. We were sat quickly and within minutes chips and salsa arrived. They have a lunch menu with lots of options. I got the mango chicken with rice and plantains. It was yummy, I'd have it again. My friend got the beef nachos and really enjoyed them! Their prices are slightly higher than some of the other Mexican restaurants in the area.

A group of 4 went Saturday night. This was my first time going here and it won't be the last. We sat at the bar and watched the NFL games. Got there around 5. Service was great and friendly. I had the Cubano bowl (Shredded brisket (seasoned with Pico de Gallo ans Salsa Ranchera), plantains, black beans, white rice, pico de gallo, guacamole, chipotle mayonnaise, cilantro and diced onions.). Absolutely perfect in every way! Super delicious, hot, fresh, and perfect portion size!

La Parrilla has officially packed up from its longtime home in the Oglethorpe Mall and set up shop at the Tanger Outlets in Pooler. It's definitely an upgrade in terms of space--more room, more seating, and a fresher vibe overall. That said, I'll admit I do miss the old location... although, with everything that's been going down at Oglethorpe lately (including a recent shootout, yikes), maybe the move was a blessing in disguise. Let's talk food. I ordered the Taquitos Tradicionales, which are basically crispy flautas bathed in salsa verde, topped with queso and a bright pico de gallo. It's a messy, cheesy, satisfying kind of dish. My kids got a chicken quesadilla and the classic chicken tenders with fries--because let's be honest, no one does chicken tenders better than a Mexican restaurant, and this place proves that rule once again. Of course, we had to start with the queso. As a Texan, I'm legally required to judge all queso against the gold standard back home. It's not elite Tex-Mex queso, but it's solid, creamy, and does the job when you're scooping it up with chips and a side of nostalgia. Is it the best Mexican food I've ever had? No. But it is consistently good, well-priced, and backed by genuinely friendly, efficient service. And these days, that's more than enough to keep me coming back. Yes, it's now a 20-minute drive for me--but I'll happily make the trip. Reliable, family-friendly, and just enough flavor to hit the spot. ¡Nos vemos pronto, La Parrilla!

Y'all know what it is: this is the same ole La Parillia you know and love from the Oglethorpe Mall transplanted and revived to new life in Pooler at the Tanger outlets. The old location was very popular and always served good food, why they didn't just open a second location is beyond me. It was nice to give the new location a try tonight though. Ambiance: This place was looking really good and is being kept well cleaned. The layout and decor give it a modern feel and a cool vibe. There is a sizable bar area, plenty of seating, lots of flat screen t.v.'s, and a fireplace. Everyone in my party remarked about how much they liked the new look. Service: The servers seemed stretched thin to be honest. We waited quite a while to be greeted and even longer for the chips-which came out right before our food. Even giving that there were no missteps by the waitstaff and we were satisfied with the accuracy of our orders. Food: I was in the mood for some seafood and decided to depart from the usual chicken milinase and sprung for the smothered shrimp. I've got to be honest the shrimp didn't taste very good there was no sear or grill to them like they were simply steamed or heated up. My brother said the same about his shrimp tacos. The non seafood items were really good and my other guest loved the Enchiladas and steak fajita rice. As always the aquas Fresca's were a must get and turned out great! Overall: A good addition to the Pooler food scene with a nice trendy new interior and plenty of screens to watch your favorite game. The Aqua Frescas (fruit smoothies) are great and so is the food (minus the seafood). I'll be back soon!

We saw La Padilla open for business and paid a visit! We chose to not wait for a table and ate at the bar. Location looks terrific. A few kinks still need to be worked out (several bar patrons had to ask for silverware and the check a few times), but I'm certain that will happen with ongoing training. Four was very good, and we enjoyed it.

We came to this location to try it out since the other location in Savannah we used to go to closed. We came on a Saturday and there was a small waiting but luckily we didn't have to wait longer. We ordered the "Guava Margarita on the rocks" which was really refreshing and delicious. For an appetizer we ordered the "La Parrila Dip"that was as usual delicious and full of flavors. I ordered the "Burrito Cubano" which was delicious however it didn't have the small pieces of maduros that I've had with the Burrito in the several other La Parrilla locations we've visited. I must say that was surprising and a little disappointing to me. My partner ordered the "Burrito con Todo" and he was pleased with its flavors. The restaurant was busy but people were being taken to their tables quite fast I must say. The music was not too loud & it was pleasant. Whenever we are back in Pooler we will come back & hopefully then the maduros will be included in the Burrito Cubano accordingly.

I went with beef yakiudon and Vietnamese egg rolls. I did takeout and brought it back to my hotel. WOW it was done so quickly I mean in. Just 3 or 4 minutes. The aroma in the car was magical, almost distracting. The noodles were perfect! So chewy and the combination of veggies in there was fabulous. It seemed like they skimped on the beef but there was plenty in there. It was a bit mild in flavor but truly enjoyable. The spring rolls were fabulous and really packed with pork and shrimp filling. Great job ladies! Thanks for a wonderful dinner.

My first time there I remember the workers were asking the take next to us where their missing family member was and how their kids were . This isn't just something they're doing for tips or anything , it seems they genuinely treat everyone here like family . Let's talk about the food , I always ordered the Beef Pho noodle soup , add shrimp , and pork dumplings. Nothing of this meal ever disappointed me . Everything is delicious and me and my wife can never get enough of this place . Now I'm gonna speak from my personal experience here , I always ordered the same thing every time , so maybe it's just my specific meal but it is ALWAYS so fast . By the time I get done ordering at the cashier my drinks and my food arrive at my table in MINUTES. On multiple occasions I've had the pho and sides arrive right after me sitting down at the table . And I'm not just saying that for exaggeration, and I'm hoping this is everyone's experience, but it is such a fast service for food . Whenever I'm back in the area I will always be heading for Umami .

We ordered beef and broccoli, sweet-and-sour chicken, pan-fried noodles with beef, egg drop soup and sticky buns. The service itself was good: we were seated quickly, drinks came right away, and our server checked on us multiple times. No complaints there. That said, the food was where things fell short. The portions were noticeably smaller than the Savannah location. The beef in both the beef and broccoli and the pan-fried noodles was very chewy, which took away from the overall experience. The sweet-and-sour chicken was a bit overcooked and crunchy--still edible, but not great. The pan-fried noodles had good flavor, but again, the chewy beef was an issue. Initially, they brought me the wrong soup kind of debated me for a moment telling me it was the right one, but it wasn't. They correct the right one though after a longer conversation. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and clean. Lots of cherry blossom decorations on the ceiling make it feel warm. It was clean and did not smell bad. Our total came out to about $86 with tip, which isn't bad price-wise, but for the quality and portion size, it didn't feel worth it compared to the other location. Overall, it's okay, but definitely a step down. If I'm craving E Tang, I'd skip this Pooler spot and go back to the original Savannah location instead.

I pointed it out right away, and the employee responded, "I told them, but they didn't listen to me," and just walked off. No effort to fix it or take ownership. I ended up taking the potato back to the counter myself and asked for it to be remade. When it was brought back out, the gentleman who delivered it didn't say a word--no apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. What made it more frustrating is that the restaurant wasn't busy at all--we were one of only two tables there. We ordered off the menu rather than the buffet -- though both were available and the buffet looked well-stocked and genuinely tempting. My husband had the Shrimp & Grits: Georgia shrimp over stone-ground grits with andouille sausage, peppers, onions, bacon, and a sherry cream sauce. Rumor had it that was the move, and the rumor was right. The grits alone were the kind you don't stop talking about -- velvety, deeply seasoned, the kind of base that makes everything sitting on top of it taste better than it already is. I went with the fried catfish, a side of mac and cheese, and a bowl of gumbo. Honest take: the catfish itself was good -- the fish was fresh and well-flavored -- but the batter had gone a little soggy, which kept it from landing where it could have. That's the kind of thing that varies by timing, not kitchen quality. The mac and cheese, though, was exactly what you want: cheesy without being gluey, hot all the way through, properly indulgent. And the gumbo -- chicken and sausage, rich and built with patience -- was the best thing on my side of the table. On a rainy afternoon in coastal Georgia, it was exactly right. Then there was the cornbread, served with peach cobbler butter. That detail alone tells you something about how this kitchen thinks. It's not an afterthought. It completed everything around it. I'm not from the South, and I won't pretend to have a lifetime of comparison points. But there's a kind of food that makes you feel like you were born into it anyway -- like your body already knew what it was tasting. That's what happened here. Good for road trippers, families, rainy days, and anyone who needs a real meal after a long stretch of highway. Four stars, with the grits alone pulling hard toward four and a half.
