Great flavors and authentic as stated BUT service was poor and our food was SO spicy we couldn't eat it.... I'm from a ln area that likes spicy- this was overwhelming ... so 4 tacos between us- wasted. Bummer - but hey- the coke in a glass bottle was great! read more

Taqueria Los Compas in Pooler SLAPS! Want authentic flavors, huge portions, and reasonable pricing!??? Here is the place. We came here twice in one week because it's that finger-licking good We got their chorizo taco, Steak Rancheros, Carne Asada, and Steak fajitas. ALL DELICIOUS! My favorite part is how flavorful and rich the rice is... so simple and so elite! I will say this restaurant is as authentic as it will get! Super busy and quiet mom and pop vibes. That's how you know it's so good read more

8/6/26 I went in after the lunch crowd was gone. Whoever the female was that was working between 2 and 4 PM was snotty, rude, snide, and refused at first to sell me the 3 tortillas I requested to go. She said first they don't sell them, then said I could get them only by purchasing a full order, then she COULD sell them but I'd have to buy four. She kept changing what she said, and smirking at me like I was her enemy. It took far too long to get her to quit sneering and simply sell me what I asked for. And it wasn't a language difference; I speak some Spanish, and we used the translator on her phone. Then, to top it off, the cook came from the back and THREW the tortillas on the grill for less than a few seconds on each side, then flung them into some foil and snarled it shut. I used to like this place, but I won't be back. read more

Traveling south on Interstate 95, I googled "Best Yelp rated restaurants near Interstate 95-Savannah, GA". Lots of good choices came up so we chose Taqueria Los Compas. Located approximately a mile off I95, restaurant was located near the Savannah Airport in a small strip shopping center. We were quickly seated and studied the menu. My wife ordered carnitas and I chose steak and chicken fajitas. Basic choices. Food arrived quickly and that is when we realized we made a great choice. Carnitas had a wonderful taste and was so tender. Fajitas were just as good with wonderfully spiced steak and chicken. We loved our lunch and were happy we found this non chain, authentic Mexican delight! read more

Look at the picture of the horchata! It is DELICIOUS! AAAAND LOOK AT HOW BIG IT IS!!! I had the juevos a la Mexicana and it was magical!! So spicey and the beans and rice were perfection! Everything was seasoned perfectly! As a bonus they brought FRESHLY made tortillas!!! My hubs had the taco salad which looked pretty standard, but as he dove in, it became obvious that the veggies were sautéed with original house seasoning. Everything was SO GOOD. Once again, the Yelp reviews were ON POINT!!!! One Word to sum up... GO!!! read more

Chose this as our dinner stop on a road trip and am sooooo glad we did. The food here was just wonderful. The taco salad I ordered was loaded with rice, beans, and sautéed veggies. Throw on the house salsas (rojo y verde), and I overate because it was just so tasty. The fam devoured theirs as well. The inside is one big open dining area with a direct view of the kitchen area. It was decorated nicely, and still had some Christmas decorations up. There are some TVs for distraction. The service was not excellent, but it was good. We did have some challenges as one of the servers did not speak English, but using my basic Spanish words and a translate app took care of that. A second server did speak English and also helped us. read more

Might have been my favorite meal during my 5 day stay in Savannah. I wasn't expecting good Mexican in Pooler, but I was pleasantly surprised. Large portions, quick service and reasonable prices. Most importantly, delicious food. I ordered some tacos (cabeza, al pastor, suadero) for myself. My wife ordered some sort of torta and my 2 year old had a kid meal quesadilla. Also the largest agua frescas i've ever seen. read more

This Mexican restaurant seems like a family owned place but oh my god it is the best Mexican food I have had in a while. The place stays pretty packed through out the day but they are able to get everyone seated fairly quickly. The food also comes out very fast. We got the Pollo a la Plancha con Jalapeños that comes with tortillas. The corn tortillas were so soft and warm, did not taste any grainy texture. The chicken was tender and juicy and simple but their salsa and salsa verde were to die for. Everything together was a great combination to have had. The agua fresca was the perfect balance for the meal and this one will be a staple going forward. Highly recommend! read more

A new restaurant in Pooler - they moved into the old Pie Society location. The restaurant is small with about 10-15 tables. It's very clean with simple decor. You can hear and smell the food cooking - just a note, you will smell like the food when you leave as their ventilation doesn't seem to be the best. I stopped by the lunch. It was busy with a few people from Gulfstream and a lot of construction workers. There was only one waitress, but she was friendly and efficient. I had the asada tacos. They were ! There was a ton of meat on the tacos. The meat was so flavorful and tender. I requested lettuce and cheese only, but I believe the standard is cilantro and tomatoes. One of my new favorite lunch spots - affordable and delicious. I will definitely be back soon! read more

This place seems very legit but I think the carne asada I ordered was a little overcooked. It was very thin slices of meat and easily overcooked. The flavor was really good aside from the dryness of the meat though. The rice was good and the stir fry onions were also really good though. read more

Continuing my business trip foodie journey, I had to find a Mexican spot for Taco Tuesday. Behold, Taqueria Los Compas. Parking - They are located in a plaza with other businesses/restaurants so there is plenty of space to park Now to food. I ordered a Taco Salad with Shrimp (you have the option of 2 proteins - but I'm pescatarian) and I also ordered Queso and Mango Aqua Fresca. Listen. This was by far THEE BEST taco salad I've had in my life! Shell was fresh, crispy and they did not skip on the filling of the salad. *Chefs Kisses* Queso was a good consistency and decent serving size for price. That Mango Aqua Fresca..oh my goodness!! Do not leave without getting one! The establishment is quaint and clean for sit down. Service was courteous and efficient. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in Pooler! read more

Food was not as good as other reviewers suggested. Steak was tough and over seasoned

Food was excellent. Authentic. Service was attentive, though my Spanish and their English was poor, we pretty much got what we ordered. My big complaint was my check was changed to a 25% tip when processed to the credit card. It's not much more, but a blatant credit card infraction that the credit card company is taking much more seriously than I thought, after I supplied a photo of my bill with amount and signature. So, .... Be aware. Hopefully someone there sees this and stops the practice. Next time I pay cash here. read more

Little Pie Crown Society has left the bldg.! Enter Taqueria Los Compas. A might contender. Food is **insert chefs kiss**. So good! Taco salad for lunch. Filling, tastes good, and great cost. Same price as a Panera Bread salad, but way more. You can choose two meats (shrimp, chicken) is what I chose. Made to perfection. I can't wait to go back. All fresh ingredients. Service was great. Music playing in the background made me want to get up and dance. Nice place for coworkers to get out and enjoy. read more

Perhaps one of the best taco salads my wife has ever had. The fried bowl was outstanding as well as the Carnitas meat in it. I had three tacos of various types. The chorizo was too spicy for me. And I like spicy food, but it was just overpowering. The other two (Asada and Pastor) were very good. Excellent service and very clean environment. Will definitely be back. read more

We stopped in on their second day of being opened and learned that this is their second location. They have an open kitchen and as soon as you walk in you know it's going to be good. The smell of the food cooking and the very friendly staff invites you in. Our food was fast, fresh and delicious. We will have to come back and try their tacos really soon. In a town with 6000 Mexican restaurants to choose from, why would you pick the only one that doesn't have chips and salsa?? Could not get a drink refill or buy a beer to save my life either and pretty sure it's because I was the only white guy in there, everyone else got the staffs attention. They cut the meat right at the bar so you get to hear a knife pounding the counter constantly while you eat. Food was decent though. read more

We visited here for lunch while on a weekend trip. We actually used Yelp reviews to find somewhere to eat lunch and the reviews here were good. I will say the food is more of an authentic Mexican than the traditional Tex-Mex style that is usually served in Mexican restaurants. I had chicken tacos on flour tortillas and he had chicken fajitas with corn tortillas. The food had good flavor, but the chicken was a little dry. I tried the green salsa in the container on the table and loved it. It wasn't too spicy and had a nice citrus twang. They do not bring chips and salsa to the table like most Mexican restaurants, so keep that in mind. It's not a bad thing, just not what we are used to. The staff was friendly, the health grade was an A. It was clean inside and out. The inside is not very large and they were busy when we were there but the service was quick. It is a seat yourself restaurant. It's a place that we would try again. read more

Found this little gem a few months ago by accident. Yesterday we were coming back from Costco and tried to remember where it was. We found it and were able to do take out. The Carnitas were out of this world. And good for two meals. Place is extremely clean and very friendly. If you're in the area of the outlets or the airport SAV, check it out! read more

My husband and I tried this place today for a late lunch. The inside was nice. I have a love for horses so I liked the tables and all the hose shoes for decor. I on the downside was that the tables were sticky. Our plates and cups stuck to the table after they were brought to us. The staff was friendly and tried to answer our questions but our waitress did not speak English very well. Unfortunately this restaurant is not like other places that give us chips and salsa when you get to the table it has to be purchased. Which is fine because we wanted the choriqueso dip. We also ordered the Alambra and Milanesa de Res. Well you do not get refills on drinks they come out in bottles and you pay per drink for sodas. Also all our food came out warm and not hot. My food the Milanesa de Res the beef was tough and dry. My dish had hardly any seasoning for a Mexican restaurant. I was literally eating the bell peppers off of my husband's dish to have some kind of flavor for my food. The waitress never even came back to check on us after our food came to our table. And the sad part was there was only like one or two other tables besides us Not sure if we will go back there. I hope for anyone else that tries this place has better food. read more
