This place was absolutely amazing! Before I get into the food, I want to address the superior service in this restaurant! From the time we walked in, until the time we left, this establishment cares about their paying customers. We saw 3 different people at our table asking us if everything was good or if we needed anything else. I have yet to find this type of great customer service anywhere in the Savannah/Pooler area. I've been to over 50 restaurants since moving here from Chicago and this place does customer service the best! Food: I had the Pollo Ranchero and this was the best Mexican dish in the south! I'm from Chicago and we have plenty of Mexican restaurants, but this place made a perfect dish. The chicken was juicy, well seasoned, and the mushrooms and opinion were grilled perfectly. Not burned at all! The rice and beans had great flavor as well. Overall an authentic tasting dish. We also had the Carne Asada which had a perfectly seasoned piece of steak and some Ranchero sauce that's kickin! Chips are crispy and lightly salted. The salsa has a bit of spice but nothing to crazy. It's the right amount of heat. Drinks: traditional margarita was solid, but the sangria margarita was the star!! Overall this place was amazing! Our server was wonderful from start to finish. She pretty much serviced the entire restaurant and i saw her serving drinks at the bar as well. All in all still tending to her tables in a timely manner. She is the true definition of an amazing server. I wish servers in Pooler could come watch her work, they will learn how to actually earn their tips. I'm happy to have found this place and I will be back weekly now! Hubby picked this place because he is from Taxco, Guerrero in Mexico. Great idea, and we had fun taking pictures in front of the place when it was closed for July 4 but actually eating here was a mistake. Hubby kind of picked up on that the moment he realized the drinks tasted odd. Not bad, just not up to the quality we are used to. Well, we plowed on and got our food. He got nachos which were small and tasteless. I got Chile Verde, which looked great but oversalted to the point I couldn't eat it. Our friend got the Lunch Special No. 13 and ate every bite. Went there on a drive back from Florida to just south of Charlotte, NC. It was on the way, and they had vegetarian food, and other options. The server whose name is Angel was so accommodating and was willing to give me recommendations on the vegetarian menu and the vegetarian fajitas. Since I was traveling, I didn't want to take forever to eat fajitas. When I was eating the dish, I had ordered and he came to check on us, I told him the cheese enchilada sauce was delicious. He informed me all of their sauces are made there. The other sauces on the bean burrito were delicious, and the tostada was awesome. I asked for hot sauce, and he asked if I'd like the house hot sauce that was made there. I asked if it was hot, and he informed me, "It's spicy." I said, "Oh yeah!" He brought it to me, and OMG, I fell in love with it. When I was about to leave, I said, "I feel bad that you brought us extra chips and salsa, and then our meal came, and I barely touched the chips. He got a box, and a container for the salsa, and a little container for the leftover hot sauce. He didn't know if I wanted to take that home. I said, "If they figure out a way to bottle this, I'd buy it!" I'm definitely going back, and I said, "Tell them if they open up another one to put it in the Charlotte Metropolitan area. I don't get the negative reviews. It was delicious, the salsa was homemade and had plenty of cilantro--it's not salsa without it! I'd give this place 10 stars if I could! Ate the buffet here. We came in at the last minute when we finished an auction. It was decent at best. The food choices were limited and had been sitting for a while. I wish that the guy working there had suggested we eat the regular menu items, which looked fresh and inspired. Instead we settled for the few scraps left in their spread. We have been here twice. Our first visit was good. The waitress Stephanie was friendly and checked on us often. The food and Salsa was good as well the Margaritas are not to strong could use a little more Tequila. Our second was not pleasant we had a new waitress which did not know much about the menu but she tried. However the owner who happen to be cooking and taking the order was awfully rude and loudly scolding our waitress and we could hear everything and understand because we speak spanish. I was very embarrassed for her and it didn't help our situation any, because after that everything went downhill. Our waitress look flustered and very nervous. She forgot most our order and was all over the place trying to help other patrons. Because of what this owner did we will definitely won't be back, it left a bad taste in our mouthes. While on a vacation to the Southeast, I had stopped for the night near Savannah, and noticed a few restaurants near the hotel I was staying at. Since I hadn't had a dinner of Mexican food for a little while, I decided to go to Guerrero. Guerrero is a family run, sit down restaurant with some tables and booths. Upon arriving, the server had brought me some chips and salsa as an appetizer. After ordering a Modelo beer as my beverage, I checked out the menu and ordered a chori pollo, which is chicken covered with a cream sauce and covered with chorizo sausage crumbles. It was delicious, and it also came with sides of rice and beans. At the end of the meal, I was stuffed! Guerrero also celebrates birthdays. While I was dining there, I had noticed a family seated at another corner of the restaurant, then the staff came over and sang them a little birthday song. read more

Not a fancy place by far but clean and well staffed. We were seated quickly as the restaurant was not crowded and given our drinks and salsa/chips. My wife and I were there on a Friday evening just a little before 5:00 pm. Our entire time, there were no more than two, maybe three other tables with patrons. THE BAD I asked for a vodka martini, the server admitted that he did not know how to mix them. The check is not itemized. The original receipt is simply a calculator tape, and the charge slip does not break down items, nor tax. So, there is no way to compare the accuracy of the charge. NEITHER GOOD NOR BAD, SIMPLY AN OBSERVATION. When we walked in for our first visit we saw no greeter. We found out that you simply choose an open table. We had no spoons. But that is common now. THE GOOD My wife is sensitive to spicy foods. The original salsa was a touch too spicy for her. The server brought us another salsa just for her. I can't say though if there was an additional charge. My wife had the Fried Mojarra (Whole Fried Tilapia). Her plate looked precisely like the photo in the menu. She was please with the serving. I had the Chipotle Steak. It was good. IMO, there might have been a touch too much Chipotle Salsa though. Our total, including two drinks and tax, was 31.01. This was for two people. If you want a very inexpensive and satisfying meal, I would recommend this establishment. I should add that the ambiance is very plain. So just keep that in mind. Ordered delivery from Pooler takeout and received the food within 20 minutes of ordering online. We ordered the Quesadillas Mexicanos and holycrapballs it was good. They give you so much food you could share it with another person but I did not. I was here 13 years ago (Dec2005) not long after they opened. Watched FIFA from my table. It was great. Thought the place was amazing. Good Mexican food. Drink specials end at 7, so I just missed them. There isn't really a bar area, and I prefer the bar when traveling solo. This restaurant is in a small strip mall. They took good care of me, got me my beer quickly (available in up to 32 oz draft modelo or miller lite), and made me nachos quickly as well. The nachos were good and I had requested they add chorizo to them which they had no problem with. There was an extra charge but they didn't hassle me about it and were very accommodating. The restaurant only had about 4 parties in it including me at 7 on a Monday night. Prices were reasonable and typical for a standard Mexican restaurant. read more
