Have been meaning to stop by to this Colombian Restaurant for the longest time and finally got to go with a friend. The service was okay but needs improving, appetizers empanada (beef cake) was alright usually I will get 1st one and if it was awesome I would order a second one but this was not the case. Morcilla (blood sausage) had good flavour but unfortunately it was cold. Bandeja paisa was good and a good size portion for the price; I got the small one. Interesting combination. For the price cool food. Pretty basic meal I got but ws ok nevertheless. Ppl were raving about this particular dish but to me it ws just ok. Whoaaaa, I'm impressed! The food was off-the-charts delicious. Very authentic, so much so, it took me back to a memory of my grandmas' home cooked meals. The portions are quite big, as well. I, now, have left overs for tomorrow lunch. Ohhhh, and..... The juices are perfectly balanced! Not too sweet, not too diluted. Where my parents live there are a lot of Colombians so of course there are a lot of Colombian restaurants around. I was shocked that this restaurant was not listed on yelp yet so I added the business. This place is good, the food here is great. It was empty because of the Colombian festival that was going on in Downtown. We were there earlier and we were heading back to my parents when my dad said he wanted a bandeja and empanadas so we stopped by. All the employees greeted us right when we came in and welcomed us. My mom knows the owner she was at the colombian festival selling her restaurants food. It was very successful, because the line was very long. The best dish here is the Bandeja Paisa it almost has the taste of Colombia not quite there yet. Over all the food is good and I give this place two thumbs up. read more

First time having Colombian food and I really enjoyed it. I had the beef empanada for an appetizer and it was really good. They gave me a green salsa to go with it, it was spicy but very good too. The restaurant is kept nice and clean, food presentation - good. My husband ordered a Bandeja Paisa and I ordered Chuleta a la Calamine, and to drink my husband ordered "fresh" pineapple juice. The pineapple juice was a great disappointment, lots of sugar, and super diluted. La Bandeja Paisa instead of ground meat as the traditional plate is presented, instead, they put a milanesa or very thin steak which was overcooked and they skipped the morcilla or blood sausage. The Chuleta a la Calamina was great but they did not wash the crustaceous properly and there was a lot of sand. We ordered dessert which was painfully sweet and I ordered a tintico which is a STRONG coffee served in a small cup (espresso cup) instead I was served with a very WEAK americano coffee. The service was great and prices are accessible. If you don't want to drive to Houston and your expectations are not high, this is an ok option. read more

I wait 5 minutes for them to even acknowledge me, then she says hold on, I waited for another 10 minutes for another lady to tell me that there was an issue with my order, then she says hold on and leaves to help everyone else. To start- Diana, our server was great. Unfortunately, one of our dishes had a hair in it. We told another server, Patricia- who was incredibly rude about the situation, saying, "There's no way because only men are cooks". She annoying took our plates back to the kitchen, then returned with the SAME plate..... and no joke- ANOTHER hair. We told Patricia again, because she was nearby, and she rolled her eyes and took the plates away. The dish was $20 and they only took off $3.99!!!! Didn't even eat half of the meal- and they did not offer to replace or comp the meal. We've been faithful customers here until now. So disappointed with the customer service. This is my go to spot when I want Colombian food because it is right down the street from my place. This is the cheapest Colombian food place that I have been to, and surprisingly it used to be even cheaper a few years ago. The only thing I get is the bandeja paisa. A few years ago it cost me $5 or $6 to get a small plate (which I can never finish) now it cost $8 or $9 for a small plate which is still cheap. I have no complaints because everything on this plate is delicious and I love that green sauce that they give you. My goddd it is the best thing in the world I can eat it with anything. I also order the empanadas here too, it's not the best but it taste good with that sauce. They put too much potatoes and not enough meat, that's my complaint about the empanadas but it's still better than most places. Really good Colombian food, not the best you'll ever have, but it really hits the mark. Knowing Spanish would be preferable for dining and ordering here, or bring a bilingual friend with you! Even with my Colombian friend in tow the waitress still got things wrong (soda instead of a sprite, didn't bring my soup, no silverware, etc. If I had a dollar for everything we had to correct it probably would have paid for the meal). The pork rind is amazing, the blood sausage isn't too bad, and the ox bone soup is great. Even their smoothies are pretty authentic. This is especially great food when it's chilly out or you're feeling under the weather. . Don't come here expecting any sort of ambiance besides intense flourescent lighting, and fast food-esque seating, just come here for the good comfort food hiding in a tiny strip mall Gluten Freers: those new to Colombian fares I would probably suggest to stay away. Those who know what they're getting themselves into should be safer. Empanadas obviously are a no, however their plantains are a yes. Even if you're a fluent Spanish speaker, I don't think the staff here are knowledgeable enough of gluten free items to guide you through your order. If you want to feel unwelcomed, then visit this restaurant. We visited this location on 12/10/2020 at 8:25 pm and as soon as we walked in, I was asked if I wanted a to-go order. My response was that I wanted to dinned in. Then I was told the restaurant closed at 9:00 pm and that the last customer would be served at 8:50 pm, I told the lady that cleaning the floors that it was only 8:25 pm, yet I was made to feel that I was bothering them. I was made to feel so unwelcomed that I left with my 4-family member. I cannot understand how you can treat your customers so poorly especially giving the current COVID situation. Only drawbacks are limited parking and they close somewhat early compared to other restaurants in the area. Some of the best service I have received in a restaurant! This was my first attempt at tasting Colombian cuisine, and after this experience, I am searching for flights to Bogota! Food was really amazing. I would say that they were reasonable for the price considering that it is a restaurant and not a fast-food joint. I had Sobrebarriga, or Flank steak served with sweet plantains, rice and salad and my friend had the Bandeja Paisa, which I hear is one of the most popular Colombian dishes. It's basically a platter, having a beef steak, rice, beans,fried sweet plantains, deep fried pork rind, one fried egg, corn patty, chorizo and avocado (yeah I copied the description from the menu). The steak was tender and juicy, and the accompaniments were a perfect match. The biggest surprise were the sweet plantains. They elevated the experience to a whole new level. I would highly suggest anyone wanting to try something new to go and have an experience at this place. You won't regret it. Also, did I say that the service was awesome? Looks like I did.
