Disappointed! I've been going here for 10+ years. Surprised and loved the remodel and decor. BUT the prices are ridiculous. Not only the prices, but the food was horrible. I spent 22.00 by myself and only 2.00 was edible. So now I have to spend another $10, just to eat, after leaving this restaurant. Oh, and the service... after I received my food/drink, the next time I seen her was walking to ask for my check. BTW it was only myself and a party of two, who finished their food, upon my arrival. I was originally craving a bandeja paisa and found this spot with its amazing reviews. The photos looked great and the decision was made to eat here! There's a decent seating area for a strip mall restaurant and it's open seating so we grab a menu a pick a table. After sitting down and looking at the menu, I opted for the Sancocho de gallina. My partner got the bandeja. We started out with empanadas and that's when the red flags started. First, the salsa comes out in a small open jar; you can see this has been used before as there were crumbs from previous meals. Then I had a bone in my chicken empanada. Moving on to the main dish - the food is visually appealing. The flavors in the bandeja were good however more red flags. 1- the food is not hot. And this goes for the entire meal. Just like momma bears porridge, cold. My sancocho was also barely warm which is not expected when ordering soup. I was also surprised to see a whole quartered chicken in there. So it was NOT fun having to take the chicken apart. Shouldn't have to work hard at eating soup. Overall, service was relatively slow but friendly. The prices are affordable. We've been going to this restaurant for 2.5 years. Hadn't been in a couple of months. We were surprised by the remodeling that occurred. The restaurant is much nicer. The only problem is that they also raised the prices significantly. The food is the same, which is good, but not worth the increased prices they charge. $100 for four of us was way too much. Now I understand why there were no other customers in the restaurant on a Saturday. Now, unfortunately we have to find another Columbian restaurant near us. When trying a new Colombian spot, I alway judge them by their Bandeja Paisa and their empanadas, both here were perfect and on point. For the uninitiated, a Bandeja Paisa is a hearty platter of steak, fried pork belly, sausage, fried yellow plantain, rice, beans, and topped off with a fried egg. It also comes with an arepa which is a small fried corn pancake. This is a huge plate, enough to serve as your only meal of the day...because it will be impossible to be hungry afterward. I tried this place for the first time today! I've been to Colombia and I was excited to try the bandeja paisa. I enjoyed the beans and rice and the dish stays true to Colombian roots overall. The yucca frita was my favorite as it wasn't as oily as it is in most places. The green sauce that came with it was really tasty. I tried the chicken empanadas and although the hot sauce that came with them was amazing, the empanadas themselves were mediocre. They weren't as crunchy as I thought they would be and that's the best part about Colombian empanadas! Would recommend this place for an overall authentic Colombian food experience though. read more

The portions are big and it came with a side salad, plantains, and rice. The chicken was battered in bread crumbs and deep fried. The inside was still soft and juicy! I appreciate fried chicken that isn't jerky tough or fried. The waitress was friendly but doesn't speak English. Pointing out what you want would have to suffice. The presentation is beautiful and it is serve on hot sizzling plates.
