    Full plate bandeja paisa

Came on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. Only 1 or 2 table aside from us and one waiter. Ordered bandeja paisa full order to split among my bf and I. It was enough to feed both of us. The portion was huge. The waiter service was ok, he did apologize for not being attentive. However I believe what seems to be a manager chatting at the lounge area and did in fact saw me look around several times and raised my hand up for attention. He did not acknowledge me. My bf also witness the manager being "that type". There was a customer needing assistance checking out at the front and instead of helping that customer he told the only waiter at the restaurant to help the customer when he's already there and could've lend a hand. Nonetheless the food was decent.

    Enjoying family!!!

I was here once for the empanadas and decided to come back for dinner with the family. I ordered the kids sausage (chorizo) and steak for the other one. It came with rice and either beans or lentils. Both kids loved their food. I ordered a bandeja paisa (the smaller portion) and it was so big and generous we had a ton of food left. We also ordered sobrebarriga with rice and beans. The food was fresh and well prepared. We finished off with some amazing vanilla flan and rice pudding. The flan was so good we decided to get a second one to go. The service could have been more attentive, we waited and waited for water or even for our server to come back to the table.

Be careful expired products!!! I stopped by yesterday since I went to Costco and it was closed. I ordered the Bandeja Paisa which was good, good portions and well made. But I also got a bag of cookies I think they're called Polvorosas. Well, I didn't try them until this morning. After just one bite I noticed it was really hard. I then start looking for the expiration date and found it. They had an expiration date of February 25 and today is March first!! Even if that's not the expiration date and it's the date they were made it's still too old for cookies. Bakery items aren't supposed to be kept for that long! What a ripoff!! First and last time I'm there. Also, if you're ordering to go they have a weird system where you have to go all the way back to the bar to order. Mmm no thanks..

Absolutely yummies. Try the coconut lemonade. Lots of options and very flavorful. Good portions. Just all around great local Columbian flavor

Wasn't sure what to expect from Colombian cuisine but color me impressed. The place is warm and inviting. For a Saturday afternoon, there was quite a nice intimate charm. The food was amazing and if anything, if you order the cheese empanadas... you are going to be set. You cannot come here and not get them. They offer chicken and beef as well, but the cheese was amazing. Be careful, you'll want to order more and more, and this will fill you up and you may not finish your entree. Got the nice Bandeja paisa which is sort of a sampler, it comes in 2 sizes, medium and large (regular). If you filled up on empanadas, get the medium. The steak was nice, pork belly was good. The black beans was tasty, and I'm not a beans guy. Rice had a little punch of butter. Service was prompt and every one was friendly. It was during the Halloween weekend, so there were even staffers in costumes. This is a Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Dr. Pepper place. If you're in the Katy/Cinco Ranch area and looking for something good and different. This is worth a lot.

Sat our party down quickly and waiter was attentive. However, food lacked a bit of flavor.

It's unfortunate that Yelp doesn't let you leave a zero star review, because there is nothing…read more'gran' about Gran Colombia. Without a doubt, it is THE WORST Colombian restaurant in all of Houston and it hurts me to say this as a Colombian. I was excited to a support a different and new Colombian spot, Ive been to many of them in and around Houston, and made a reservation here many days beforehand to watch Colombia play in the World Cup. The day arrives of the big World Cup match, and my family and I are ready with our friends to have an amazing experience (that never happened) at Gran Colombia. Our entire party is there, and they had us standing at the door for 15 minutes, because they couldn't find the reservation that they had confirmed with us 3 days beforehand. After standing, they found a crappy area in the corner that didn't even fit all of us. They put down chairs around it, and we were seated. It's funny, they hype up this restaurant all over social media as the place to be to watch Colombia play in the World Cups, but that is false advertising. The restaurant is a bit small, and they clearly don't have the capacity or staff to manage an event like this. They have a few screens to watch the game, a bar, and a bakery. However, this place is mediocre. They had a packed house for sure, with only about 2 waitresses running the entire restaurant, it makes no sense. We were seated in our crappy spot, and it took them 30 minutes to give us a menu. Mind you, we had arrive 45 minutes before the game started in anticipation of a fun time that never happened. It took another 30 minutes before a waitress took our order, and yet ANOTHER 30 minutes before our mediocre food arrived. We watched the entire first half of the game, in our crappy corner, with no food or drink. We were definitely starving and thirsty. We ordered a Picada, empanadas, Maracuyá Margarita, Arepas, and a Colombian burger. It was all terrible.... The Picada came out cold, ideally it should be a platter with all types of meat, potatoes, Yuca and plantains. OH AND IT SHOULD COME OUT AT LEAST WARM. Nope...didn't happen The Super Picada was small, the meat came out cold, the arepita was hard, and it was just not worth the price. The empanadas and burger were decent, but nothing special, you can find something 10x better at another Colombian restaurant. Also, THEY NEVER BROUGHT OUT THE AREPAS WE ORDERED. My poor son was eating out of our mediocre Picada, because his arepas never arrived. The service was non-existent and just poor. It was also ridiculously hot inside the restaurant. We looked at the thermostat and they had it at 80 degrees. Wow, just wow. I wasn't sure if we were at 'Gran Colombia' or 'Gran Sauna'. They really have this restaurant packed with people excited to watch fútbol and have the thermostat at 80... Once they finally decided to bring the check, it was pricey and of course, they included gratuity that they did not deserve. Gran Colombia is bottom of the barrell. Houston has such delicious Colombian restaurants, with tons of them in the Katy areas. They are all above this poor establishment. This is not the spot to watch a game or spend your money. Nonexistent service with mediocre food that is not worth the price. No señor....
