Sat our party down quickly and waiter was attentive. However, food lacked a bit of flavor.

Good Colombian food with a very wide selection of national dishes. They were getting ready to relocate so I could not get my refajo. Portions were large much like being in Colombia. I would recommend if you are looking for a good filling meal. read more

Came on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. Only 1 or 2 table aside from us and one waiter. Ordered bandeja paisa full order to split among my bf and I. It was enough to feed both of us. The portion was huge. The waiter service was ok, he did apologize for not being attentive. However I believe what seems to be a manager chatting at the lounge area and did in fact saw me look around several times and raised my hand up for attention. He did not acknowledge me. My bf also witness the manager being "that type". There was a customer needing assistance checking out at the front and instead of helping that customer he told the only waiter at the restaurant to help the customer when he's already there and could've lend a hand. Nonetheless the food was decent. read more

Normally would give this place 4 or 5 stars but when we walked in there was a sewer smell like a sewer pipe burst. We both looked at each other and sat down. Decided to have a stiff drink but could not order their amazing food as it smelled horrible in the place. Their food is absolutely top notch as I have had it before. We just hope the problem gets taken care of. read more

Mi Pueblito Restaurant - Enjoying family!!! - Colombian Near Me - Katy, Texas

I went there with several friends and the food and service was great! The servers were extremely patient with our large group and they answered every question we had. The food was brought out fast and everything tasted divine! We loved the buñuelos, the empanadas, and even the coconut lemonade was so delicious! Everyone loved their main entre as well! Also, the gentlemen serving us helped provide plates, spoons, and cutting utensils for the cake we had brought to celebrate. It was an over all great experience. If you want a great ambiance and great food I highly recommend. The music was tasteful also. Obviously everyone's tastes differ but I encourage anyone to give them a try, their menu selections have options for everyone and I doubt you will be disappointed. read more

Stopped by for a family dinner and was not disappointed! The portions are huge! The service is great and the food is delicious. Everyone else had dessert which they all enjoyed. I had a Colombian coffee that was spot on ! Highly recommend read more

Food is not bad but it's a bit pricey but what brings this place down is the terrible service. They take forever to bring you a soda. You literally will sit here for 40 minutes waiting for your food. I say try another place if you value your time read more

It's been few years since we've been here. Good to see they survived COVID. As usual the food was excellent. I got delicious steak. Cooked just right. Wife got steak also different style. She loved it. The restaurant was nice and clean. Was very quiet which was nice as I'm very hard of hearing. Great to be able to talk without loud music Now for service. This was not very good. The only downside to our visit. I got attitude when I asked for refill for our guest and me. Instead of getting our drinks she was gonna show me who's boss. She decided after telling me she'll get it soon and for me to calm down, she was gonna bus a table first ( the first time I asked another waiter told her we needed refills. She ignored him) Well all she did in the long run was get a small tip. Bill was over 150. She got ten Sorry not sorry. Give me attitude and you'll be the one losing. We came a long way to meet friends here. Not gonna go again I think. But as I said the food is great. read more

I Called to place an order to go for a small soup of the day. They only have medium or large. I asked for the price of the medium and i was told that it was including tax around $20.00 dollars. I couldn't believe that they can charge that shocking amount of money for a simple soup. Also a TAMAL that they said is large wish in fact is NOT the price with taxes is around $18.00 dollars. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACEPTABLE!!! I WILL NEVER WASTE MY MONEY going to a restaurant to actually robe your money. read more

I was here once for the empanadas and decided to come back for dinner with the family. I ordered the kids sausage (chorizo) and steak for the other one. It came with rice and either beans or lentils. Both kids loved their food. I ordered a bandeja paisa (the smaller portion) and it was so big and generous we had a ton of food left. We also ordered sobrebarriga with rice and beans. The food was fresh and well prepared. We finished off with some amazing vanilla flan and rice pudding. The flan was so good we decided to get a second one to go. The service could have been more attentive, we waited and waited for water or even for our server to come back to the table. read more

Tbh it's a hit or miss. One of the managers is kinda rude. The empanadas (usually 1.00-1.50) are over priced. It's super bright in the restaurant and it makes for an awkward vibe. One time I asked for "un jugo de lulo en leche" and the milk was expired or something because it tasted super off. There better places in Katy but I guess if ur looking for not so casual Colombian food u can come here because ur is white table cloth (lol still over priced) read more

Be careful expired products!!! I stopped by yesterday since I went to Costco and it was closed. I ordered the Bandeja Paisa which was good, good portions and well made. But I also got a bag of cookies I think they're called Polvorosas. Well, I didn't try them until this morning. After just one bite I noticed it was really hard. I then start looking for the expiration date and found it. They had an expiration date of February 25 and today is March first!! Even if that's not the expiration date and it's the date they were made it's still too old for cookies. Bakery items aren't supposed to be kept for that long! What a ripoff!! First and last time I'm there. Also, if you're ordering to go they have a weird system where you have to go all the way back to the bar to order. Mmm no thanks.. read more

Have been a customer of Mi Pueblito (Richmond location) since 2008 and once they opened the Katy location, we've been regulars here! Today we had the BEST experience when brought out friends from Alaska to "taste" a good Colombian meal. They loved the food, the service and ambiance as well. Would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Ms Orlando & Mr Ricardo. read more

I love mi pueblito! So many flavorful options! I love the Ajiaco which is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place.

Absolutely terrible service. Host (seemed to be the manager too) was the absolute rudest host I've experienced in a while. Food was not terrible completely but way below par for price. Seemed like some of the waiters were trying to cover up/compensate for the horrible customer service from host but also seemed like they weee used to his behavior but couldn't say anything cuz that was their boss, who's know. Anyways I'll sure give them another try down the road but for now this was my most honest review. read more

Wasn't sure what to expect from Colombian cuisine but color me impressed. The place is warm and inviting. For a Saturday afternoon, there was quite a nice intimate charm. The food was amazing and if anything, if you order the cheese empanadas... you are going to be set. You cannot come here and not get them. They offer chicken and beef as well, but the cheese was amazing. Be careful, you'll want to order more and more, and this will fill you up and you may not finish your entree. Got the nice Bandeja paisa which is sort of a sampler, it comes in 2 sizes, medium and large (regular). If you filled up on empanadas, get the medium. The steak was nice, pork belly was good. The black beans was tasty, and I'm not a beans guy. Rice had a little punch of butter. Service was prompt and every one was friendly. It was during the Halloween weekend, so there were even staffers in costumes. This is a Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Dr. Pepper place. If you're in the Katy/Cinco Ranch area and looking for something good and different. This is worth a lot. read more

Called in a to go order and got home to realize the drinks weren't even filled the whole way. You can really tell they half assed it and didn't even bother. We got lemonade and pineapple aguas fresas and the pineapple tasted really watered down. Mi Pueblito Restaurant - Really... - Colombian Near Me - Katy, Texas

I am so excited that another Mi Pueblito opened in Houston but now right around the corner from my home. Typically when I go to a Colombian restaurant a good indicator of the quality of food is the beans inside their bandeja paisa! The famous Colombian dish here is done justice by it's huge size and by the flavor profile. The Colombian beans are large and flavorful and they take a good 1/3 of dish and it comes with arepa, egg, rice, chicharron, chorizo! It would be a 5 star but the price is a little on the expensive side for a Colombian restaurant. read more

We read the review about slow customer service however we are not the type of people to go by reviews. Nevertheless they we true! We came in, the host/Manager sat us down. We never a server. We waited at least 15 minutes, so we got up and left. NEVER GOING BACK. read more

The food is OK. If you're lucky, your meat will have a little salt on it because there are no other spices and herbs. What's the difference between Mi Pueblito, Mono's, and all the other Colombian restaurants? Really nothing. They have almost identical menus. Where is the comida costeña? Where is the arroz con coco, chuzo desgranado, arepa rellena con huevo y carne? Nope, all we get is the same ol' same ol' bandeja paisa. Colombia has a wide variety of delicious food, but this place only offers the bare minimum at expensive prices. Paisa Twins on Highway 6 has way more variety, and it's a food truck. read more

que pésimo lugar la verdad ! La comida de acá es recalentada y Tampoco limpio ! Muy mal el servicio

Had high hopes and they where shattered. When we ordered my daughter ordered the Ribeye steak and cooked medium rare. I got the lingua and wife the tilapia. We started to wait and it seemed like it took forever, even our water glasses ran dry and I had to flag someone down. Our food came and we're quite hungry, my daughter is steak look like a long hamburger patty. It looked nothing like a rib-eye steak should look. I asked her how was it and she said meh. She showed me the inside and it was well done. Would have sent it back but she was hungry. Once I flag a manager down they said they would correct it and then finally our waitress came back out and apologize but didn't ask us how the rest of our meal was. They did take her steak off the bill like they should have. Thankful for that. My wife's fish was ok, nothing to special and mine was good. Doubt we'll go back. read more

I used to like this restaurant, but in our last visit the quality of the food decreased! The tamales were awful, the fish was over fry and the arroz con leche was very hard. The service still nice, is just the food. read more

Ordered empanadas a rum and coke and vodka clubs. After 20 minutes drinks arrived. The rum and coke tasted like water and the glass was half full. The vodka and club was also weak and tasteless. Waited 10 more minutes, no empanadas. We left money on the table for the drinks. I'll chalk it up to post Covid staffing. If customers have to deal with staffing issues, at least give them good drink and healthy pour. read more

Just about the worst service I've ever encountered. Ignored for 15 minutes by the door, with plenty of available tables. Finally seated, then ignored for another 10 minutes, no water, no give us a moment, just like we were invisible. So we left. No one noticed, or even cared. read more

If you like Colombian food and want to have a pleasant experience then I'll suggest you to either go to the original Mi Pueblito on Richmond and Fondren, or to try another Colombian restaurant. I've been to this new location four times and every time I go it seems to be getting worse and worse. The service was slow, but ok. We had to wait at least 10 minutes to get our drinks and another 6-7 minutes to get our empanadas. I ordered the bandeja paisa and was very disappointed. The red beans were undercooked, the meat was very dry, and the arepa ridiculously bland and dry. My girlfriend ordered the bistec encebollado and again she was very disappointed. Eating the bistec encebollado is like drinking soy sauce straight out of the bottle! Super salty and lacking flavor. Lastly, the prices you pay are high considering the quality of the food. I don't mind spending money IF the food is good, but spending $50 dollars for this Colombian feast seems crazy. I really hope Mi Pueblito management could have the time to read my review and the reviews from others, because honestly I love the original Mi Pueblito but this seems like a cheap Chinese imitation. read more

I love Colombian food. . But today I had a bad experience with the food. The steak in the bandeja paisa tasted like rubber. Was cooked right but had a weird taste. After I ordered dessert "tres leches" tasted like expired milk. Sour. I told the manager about the experience and he gave me the option for another dessert. After such bad experience they charged me for my meals and dessert. I don't care to pay but wow u guys. Guess here your honest review. This was not handled properly. read more

These low ratings are absurd. The food was phenomenal, the wait staff were attentive, and accommodating to our party. I will dine here often! read more

Bad service, food can be a hit or miss. Expect to sit at the table and wait 10 minutes before anyone takes your order. Good thing about waiting is that by the time waiter comes you can tell him you are ready to order, now get your phone or book out because is going to be a while before anything arrives. If you come for the appetizers (antojitos) you are good, for an entree I advise you reconsider some other place. I love Colombian food (all Latin food to be exact) but I feel like Mi Pueblito misses the mark when it comes to entrees. I love how every employee wears an ear piece as if they were secret service or the restaurant was so huge... 10-4? The original Mi Pueblito is far better read more
